Fri Jun 30 202313:50Jordan Clarkson Discusses Extension With Utah
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson picked up his player option this week that pays him $14.3 million next season. He decided not to test free agency and it seems like the Jazz are rewarding him with a contract extension. According to Marc Stein, Clarkson and the Jazz are in discussions about a three-year contract extension that would keep the dynamic combo guard around until he turns 34 years old. As of right now, he should still be in the starting lineup so his fantasy value should stay around the same level. He averaged 20.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game last season.

Wed Mar 22 202315:30Jordan Clarkson Remains Sidelined With Finger Sprain
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (finger) will stay on the sidelines for a seventh consecutive game as he's still nursing a finger sprain on his left hand. The veteran guard doesn't seem to be in a rush to get back on the court as the team still tries to build its young talent. While he remains in street clothes, fantasy managers should look toward Ochai Agbaji if they're desperate for a replacement guard in the time being.

Sat Mar 18 202318:30Jordan Clarkson To Remain Sidelined
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (finger) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Boston Celtics. The veteran sharpshooter will miss at least one more game due to a sprained finger. It's uncertain when Clarkson will get back on the court, so fantasy managers should stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, Ochai Agbaji will remain in the starting five while Clarkson is out. He has ranked outside the top-200 in 9-cat leagues over the last two weeks. That being said, Agbaji can be avoided in most formats and is only a cheap DFS filler right now.

Mon Mar 13 202315:16Jordan Clarkson Downgraded To Out
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (finger) has been downgraded to out for Monday's game against the Miami Heat. He was originally listed as questionable, but will ultimately sit this game out due to a left finger sprain. This marks the fourth game in a row that Clarkson will miss, but hopefully he'll be able to return soon. In the meantime, Ochai Agbaji should continue to start for the Jazz. However, Talen Horton-Tucker is the player to have right now. He's averaging 27 points and 7.3 assists while Clarkson has been out.

Thu Mar 9 202318:18Jordan Clarkson Unavailable On Thursday
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (hand) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Orlando Magic. The 30-year-old will sit this game out while he deals with a sprained wrist and a dislocated finger. The Jazz are likely to use a committee approach to fill the void of Clarkson. That means, Ochai Agbaji, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Kris Dunn should all see more playing time. None of them have been reliable standard league options, but Horton-Tucker and Dunn are worth a look in deep leagues.

Sun Mar 5 202322:39Jordan Clarkson Scores 18 Points, Dislocates Finger
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (wrist, finger) had a team-high 18 points during the loss to OKC on Sunday night. He also had 12 assists, four boards, and two steals, although he shot a rough 6-for-15 from the field and 0-for-5 from deep. Clarkson, who has been dealing with a sprained wrist, suffered a dislocated finger in this one. He managed to pop it back into place, but it will be interesting to see if he will suit up on Tuesday versus the Dallas Mavericks. The Jazz could certainly use him, as Utah entered Sunday's game down Collin Sexton (hamstring) and Lauri Markkanen (back).

Fri Feb 10 202318:14Jordan Clarkson Sidelined On Friday
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (illness) isn't available against the Toronto Raptors. Clarkson is sidelined with a non-COVID-related illness, so Talen Horton-Tucker may replace him in the starting lineup. Utah traded Mike Conley ahead of the trade deadline, and Russell Westbrook won't play. As a result, Horton-Tucker, who registered 19 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks in his only start this season, could enter the starting lineup. If that's the case, he'll be worth streaming in all fantasy formats. However, Collin Sexton and Lauri Markkanen have higher upsides.

Fri Feb 10 202316:12Jordan Clarkson Tagged As Questionable On Friday
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (illness) was added to the injury report on Friday with a non-COVID illness that could keep him off the floor against the Toronto Raptors. The 30-year-old has missed only one game so far this season, so this isn't much of a reoccurring theme. Since the team traded away Mike Conley and Malik Beasley, if Clarkson can't suit up due to illness, both Talen Horton-Tucker and Ochai Agbaji could see an uptick in minutes in this contest.

Fri Feb 10 202309:25Navigating The Clippers Trade Deadline Moves - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Los Angeles Clippers are in the heat of the congested Western Conference playoff race and were one of the more active franchises during Thursday's trade deadline. The Clippers had some glaring needs, specifically at the point guard position, and needed to surround their star forwards, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, with more talent to compete in the loaded Western Conference. The Clippers were able to execute three separate trades on Thursday. First off, the Clippers were able to secure Bones Hyland from the Denver Nuggets for a couple of second-round picks. Then, they set their eyes on veteran guard Eric Gordon in a three-team trade, sending off John Wall to the Houston Rockets and Luke Kennard to the Memphis Grizzlies. Lastly, the Clippers moved ... Thu Feb 9 202322:16Russell Westbrook Traded To Jazz - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Russell Westbrook experiment in Los Angeles has been less than ideal over the past two years and has officially come to an end. With the West stocking up everywhere, the Lakers knew they had to make a splash in order to make a push to the playoffs. The Lakers executed a three-team trade with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves, involving a total of eight players and multiple draft picks Wednesday night. The Lakers sent Russell Westbrook, Juan Tuscano-Anderson, and Damian Jones to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt while also acquiring D'Angelo Russell from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Jazz also sent Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker to the Timberwolves while accumulating even more draft capital. So just what is the fantasy basketball fallout of this blockbuster trade? Let's examine how each of the teams and players in the deal may be affected going forward.

Fantasy Basketball Fallout: Russell Westbrook

Westbrook is expected to be bought out from Utah and enter free agency. There are already rumors of teams interested in the veteran point guard, including the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, and Chicago Bulls. If Westbrook were to be claimed, he would likely be given a prominent role immediately given these three teams are all lacking in the point guard position. Westbrook's caveat has always been his personality fit so it remains to be seen how well he can mesh with his new team if he is claimed.

Fantasy Basketball Fallout: Lakers

The Lakers get some much-needed spacing and size with the additions of Russell, Beasley, and Vanderbilt. Russell is shooting a career-high 39.1 percent from three while averaging 17.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game this season. Russell should absorb Westbrook's minutes and will likely start at point guard over ... [More]
Sun Jan 15 202308:07Jordan Clarkson Pours In 38 Points Against Philadelphia
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson had it going on all game against Philadelphia on Saturday, leading all scorers in a 118-117 loss with 38 points. With Lauri Markkanen (hip) out, almost all the offense ran through Clarkson as he ended up shooting 16-for-29 from the field with a 3-for-12 record from downtown. The rest of the starters combined for 39 shot attempts. Clarkson was also able to pick up nine rebounds and five assists in 36 minutes. The 30-year-old scoring machine had a quiet start to 2023, but somebody must have poked him with the right stick at the start of this week, as Clarkson has averaged 31.0 points in three games. He will try to rock it next against the Timberwolves in a matchup where he has averaged 25.0 points this season.

Wed Jan 11 202312:35Jordan Clarkson Leads Jazz With 32 Points In Win
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson led the way in scoring during a 116-114 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday. The 30-year-old posted 32 points, six rebounds, and four assists while shooting 11-for-19 overall and 5-for-11 from deep. Clarkson remains a great value if he was selected late in the fantasy draft. He's currently ranked around a 12th-round value in category formats and is a solid producer for points and assists, but not much after that.

Fri Dec 23 202213:32Jordan Clarkson Posts Strong Outing In Win Over Wizards
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson provided both the second-highest scoring and rebounding marks on the team during their home win on Thursday night. The 30-year-old ended the game with 23 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal while shooting 7-for-17 overall and 4-for-7 from deep. He also added five free throws on just as many attempts. Clarkson isn't the greatest source of assists for a starting guard, but his rebounding has been sneaky good and he's always a good fantasy asset for scoring.

Mon Dec 12 202218:12Jordan Clarkson Returns To Practice On Monday
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (hip) was able to participate during Monday's practice. It's nice to see Clarkson back out there after he sat out of Saturday's contest. The hope is that Clarkson will be able to return to the starting lineup for Tuesday's game. His return will push Talen Horton-Tucker back to the second unit. He hasn't done much this season, so a move back to the bench isn't going to help his fantasy value. At the moment, fantasy managers should consider Clarkson questionable for Tuesday's game.

Sat Dec 10 202220:08Jordan Clarkson Ruled Out For Saturday
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Denver Nuggets. This is a significant blow to the Jazz because Clarkson has been huge for them this season. His absence should mean more scoring chances for Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Malik Beasley. Over the last two games, Beasley has scored 41 points, so he'll be a must-start option for Saturday's slate. Fantasy managers should make sure Beasley is in your lineups before it's too late.

Thu Dec 1 202210:18Jordan Clarkson Enjoys Hot Shooting Night On Wednesday
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson had another scoring outburst on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. The veteran combo guard posted 33 points, four rebounds, and five assists on 10-for-18 shooting overall and 5-for-9 shooting from beyond the arc. Clarkson has been a great fantasy source for points and threes, but he hasn't delivered that much outside of that. He can be expected to provide much of the same for the rest of the season.

Tue Nov 22 202208:16Jordan Clarkson Stays Hot Versus The Clippers
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson continued his hot streak with a 26-point effort in Monday's 121-114 loss to the Clippers. He registered his third consecutive game with 20-plus points, shooting 8-for-18 from the field and 4-for-11 from three-point range. In 39 minutes of action, Clarkson also added four rebounds and four assists to his tally with one steal, one block and one turnover. Mike Conley (leg) has just dropped out of the lineup and Clarkson is one of the guys who gets a boost from his absence. He's already been a solid fantasy piece and should now have even more value. With matchups against Detroit and Golden State coming up, Clarkson's good scoring run should continue, as these teams are among the bottom six in the league in defensive efficiency.

Thu Oct 27 202210:02Jordan Clarkson Knocks Down Five Threes
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson enjoyed a red-hot shooting night from three against the Houston Rockets. On top of shooting 5-for-10 from deep, he put up 20 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block. While he's still in Utah, the 30-year-old will continue getting plenty of minutes and opportunities. He may be auditioning for a future deal with a playoff-contending team, though. Fantasy managers can enjoy the added productivity that comes with starter's minutes, but be cautious if he is traded into a sixth-man role again.

Sun Sep 11 202215:30Four Teams Interested In Jordan Clarkson
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson may be the next player on the roster to be moved. Teams are interested, with Memphis, Milwaukee, Sacramento, and Toronto emerging as potential landing spots. The 2021 Sixth Man of the Year took a step back last season, finishing with averages of 16.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. Nevertheless, Clarkson will likely have a substantial role moving ahead, regardless of where he's playing in 2022-23, so he should remain relevant from a fantasy standpoint. With that said, his shooting percentages need work, which may severely impact category managers.

Fri Sep 2 202220:26Jordan Clarkson On His Way Out Of Utah?
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson could be the next player on the roster to be moved. The team has already traded Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert this offseason. However, Utah reportedly isn't finished as Clarkson, along with Bojan Bogdanovic and Mike Conley, may be suiting up elsewhere this season. The 2021 Sixth Man of the Year ended last season by averaging 16.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, so wherever he plays come October, he'll continue to be expected to provide plenty of offense from off the bench. At the same time, his defensive numbers historically haven't been the best, and his percentage from deep has room for improvement, two things fantasy managers should consider.
