He was injured when Tyler Zeller's noggin caught James in the mouth, sending him for stitches.How many?"Enough to close the wound," James said.The Cavs led 100-99 with 4:25 remaining when James stepped to the line for free throws that sparked his 18 consecutive points.When James was finished -- on a 3-pointer with 55.6 seconds to go -- the Cavs led 118-107 and it was all over."You've got to let it come to you," James said. "It's times when you wish you can do it and sometimes when the ball just doesn't go in. But I put a lot of work into my craft and I believe that every shot I take is going to go in. But without my teammates setting screens and defending, getting the rebounds, cutting, and things of that nature, then none of that is even possible for me, so, they get the most credit."James actually missed a dunk in the first quarter, in rare and embarrassing fashion. He intercepted a pass from Caris LeVert and was en route to a breakaway slam, but after whipping the ball around the air, clanged it off the rim with 3:49 left in the period.James became the 26th player in NBA history with 1,500 career 3-pointers. He needed two to reach the milestone Wednesday.

G Nicolas Batum reinjured his left elbow and did not play in the second half. Batum missed the first 12 games of the season after elbow surgery. The Hornets had no injury update after the game.

G John Wall led the Wizards with 31 points and 11 assists Wednesday.

G Bradley Beal finished with 22 points, but his missed free throw with 9.3 seconds left in regulation could have pushed the lead to three at the time, before Hornet G Kemba Walker's free throws.Beal came into the game 11th in the NBA in scoring at 24.2 ppg.

G Kemba Walker scored 24 points Wednesday. Walker's two free throws with two seconds left in regulation tied the score 114-114. Walker later hit a 3-pointer to give the Hornets the lead for good at 119-116 with 3:21 left in overtime.Walker hit three 3-pointers and was 5 of 6 from the line on a night when the Hornets made 33 of 40 free throws.Walker came into the game 14th in the NBA in scoring at 22.9.

G Jeremy Lamb scored 24 points in Wednesday's win."That was a huge win," Lamb said. "It was a team effort. We were down in the fourth and we just came together on both ends and it was a great win for us."It was exciting. The fans were amazing. It was a packed house. Like I said, we rallied together, it got loud and we were able to come back. We just stayed in attack mode the whole game. So that was a great overtime win. It feels good."Lamb was 9 of 17 from the field and was a plus-26 in the plus-minus when he was on the floor.

G Patrick Beverley underwent surgery on his right knee Wednesday, according to multiple reports. The 29-year-old Beverley is expected to miss a significant amount of time, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

F Paul Millsap has been diagnosed with a left wrist ligament injury, the team announced Wednesday. Millsap could miss three months due to surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left wrist, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Vertical first reported that Millsap would need surgery and be sidelined indefinitely. The Nuggets announced in their press release that "additional evaluation and consultation is ongoing to determine the best course of medical care."

F Julius Randle had 10 points and 10 rebounds in Tuesday's win over the Bulls. Randle went into the game at center as the Lakers used a small-ball lineup to rally past Chicago. "Julius Randle changed the game for them when he went in there at the 5," Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg said.

G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 11 of his 21 points in the closing minutes as the Lakers rallied to defeat the Bulls Tuesday night. Los Angeles went ahead 89-87 when Caldwell-Pope put back a missed 3-pointer with 3:06 remaining. Caldwell-Pope followed with two 3-pointers that stretched the lead to five each time, and the Lakers kept Chicago from getting back within one possession.

F Kevin Durant's status for Wednesday's game against his former team in Oklahoma City is uncertain as he recovers from a sprained left ankle. The 29-year-old former league MVP participated in a full practice Tuesday and is considered questionable to play versus the Thunder. "I don't know," Durant said when asked if he'll be able to play. "We'll see how it feels in the morning but right now, it feels good." Durant sprained his ankle during Saturday's 124-116 win against the 76ers. He sat out the next night in Golden State's 118-111 victory at Brooklyn.
