G/F Julyan Stone was recalled by the Charlotte Hornets from the Greensboro Swarm of the G League on Sunday. Stone is averaging 1.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 6.3 minutes over four games with the Hornets this season. He has appeared in five games for the Swarm, averaging 7.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 28.3 minutes.

F/C Mike Muscala was recalled by the Atlanta Hawks from the Erie BayHawks of the G League on Sunday. In three games (all starts) with the BayHawks this season, Muscala has averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 block in 17.4 minutes. In nine games (five starts) with Atlanta, he is averaging 6.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 22.4 minutes.

PG Chris Paul will return from a three-game injury absence to play in Friday's game against the Washington Wizards. Paul has been sidelined due to a groin injury. Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni confirmed Paul would be in the lineup. Houston, which lost its last four games, is 15-1 when Paul is in the lineup and 10-7 when he sits out.

G Jerryd Bayless isn't Philadelphia's go-to guy on offense, but when he got the chance, the veteran came through. Bayless scored eight of his 14 points in the first 1:06 of the fourth quarter to start a decisive run and the 76ers defeated the Denver Nuggets 107-102 on Saturday night. Bayless, who had 14 points combined over the previous three games, matched that in a total span of 3:56. He scored six straight points toward the end of the third quarter and then got hot at the start of the fourth. "It was a mix of a lot of things," Bayless said. "I got some plays called and tried to take advantage of it. My teammates really helped and (coach) Brett (Brown) made some calls for me."

PF Serge Ibaka was suspended for one game for a violation of team rules by the Toronto Raptors. The suspension, which was announced on Friday, resulted from an altercation that took place between Ibaka and a team staff member after a 124-107 loss at Oklahoma City on Wednesday. "Both parties have apologized. We've discussed this internally as a team, and we won't be discussing it any further," Raptors president Masai Ujiri said. "Now we're focused on moving forward together, and we look forward to having Serge back in the lineup." Ibaka is averaging 13.8 points on 50.5 percent shooting and six rebounds in 30 games. He will sit out Friday's contest against visiting Atlanta.

PHOENIX (AP) — Philadelphia center Joel Embiid injured his right hand going after an inbounds pass late in the fourth quarter of the 76ers' 123-110 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.Embiid had X-rays taken and his hand wrapped in ice after the game, and said he thinks he will be fine."They said it wasn't broken. They think it was sprained, so I guess that's good news," Embiid said.Embiid had 22 points and nine rebounds in 31 minutes Sunday. The play in which he was hurt happened with 3:54 left in the game, and he was called for a loose ball foul after hitting the floor.Embiid came out of the game with 41.1 seconds left and the Sixers up by 12.Philadelphia coach Brett Brown didn't have an update when asked about Embiid's injury status after the game, nor did the team before the Sixers left the arena.Embiid has had an extensive injury history that includes foot and knee surgeries that have limited his ability to play since he was drafted third overall in 2014. More recently, he has dealt with back tightness."The way he plays, there's always a chance (for injury), you know," Brown said. "It's like with everybody, but him especially. I think the fact that he just hasn't practiced, the awkward moments, unorthodox moments scare you a little bit more."

F Thabo Sefolosha had 12 rebounds and 10 points for his 14th career double-double of the season on Saturday night for the Jazz.

C Rudy Gobert's injured knee was re-evaluated by the team Saturday. Gobert is making progress, but will miss at least two more weeks with a PCL sprain and bone bruise.

F LeBron James played in an NBA game for the seventh time on his birthday. James averaged 33.5 points on 56 percent shooting, 7.5 rebounds and 6.7 assists in his previous six birthday games.

C Zaza Pachulia made all six of his shots and all five of his free throws in a 17-point, eight-rebound, six-assist outing for Golden State on Saturday night. "I thought Zaza was terrific," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "It was too bad that Steph stole his night."

C Marc Gasol had 27 points to lead six players in double figures for the Grizzlies, who fell to 1-2 on their current five-game trip."We're trying to build something here," Gasol said. "If we're trying to be a really good team, we have to play better defense."

PG Mike Conley (Achilles soreness) missed a 23rd straight game. The Grizzlies fell to 4-19 in those games and to 55-97 (.362) when Conley has been out of the lineup in his career.

PF Draymond Green was ejected in the second quarter on Saturday night after he drew two technical fouls for disputing calls 47 seconds apart. The ejection was his second of the season. He took over the league lead in technical fouls this season with 10. His two ejections are one off teammate SF Kevin Durant's league lead with three.

G Damian Lillard missed his fourth straight game Saturday with a strained right hamstring.

G Malik Beasley (right elbow sprain) was dressed and available Saturday night for the Nuggets.

C Joel Embiid did not play Saturday night. Embiid flew straight from Portland to Phoenix, where Philadelphia plays on Sunday night. He went through a workout Saturday and will be ready to go against the Suns. Coach Brett Brown said the decision to sit Embiid on one end of back-to-back games is medical. "It's all pointed toward health," Brown said. "When you play a game and you have a chance to have a day or multiple days in between that can better allow him to play whatever game it'll play out to be, then that's the answer. It's really as simple as that."

G Goran Dragic scored 25 points in Saturday's win at Orlando. Dragic scored nine of his points in the final 3 1/2 minutes.

C Kelly Olynyk had 17 points and six rebounds in Saturday's win at Orlando.

G Tyler Johnson scored a season-high 31 points, including 22 in the third quarter when he made 10 consecutive shots, that erased an 18-point deficit and brought his team back to life in a 117-111 win at Orlando Saturday."Player of the game for us. Really inspiring," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He was tremendous. Just a tremendous effort on his part."

F LaMarcus Aldridge scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Saturday's loss at Detroit.
