Sun Oct 4 201517:27Young (back spasms) practiced Saturday
Young (back spasms) practiced Saturday, Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Young was suffering from the back spasms at the tail end of Friday's scrimmage, but all he needed was some treatment from the medical staff before being cleared to return to the court Saturday. The 30-year-old is fully recovered from a fractured kneecap that sidelined him in the second half of last season, and should be ticketed for a reserve role on the wing in 2015-16.

Young (knee) has spent the last two weeks participating in the Drew League, signifying he's fully recovered from a fractured left kneecap that excluded him from the final 27 games last season.
Young wasn't able to duplicate his success under former coach Mike D'Antoni with current coach Byron Scott. The two butted heads frequently, and the rift limited Young's playing time on an injury-riddled team. His relationship with the coach, rampant trade rumors, the addition of Lou Williams, and a healthy Kobe Bryant will cap Young's shot attempts and minutes this season.
Mon Jul 27 201509:56Young (knee) has spent summer working on shooting
Young (knee) has spent the summer working on his shooting, ball handling, and off-the-ball defense, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Young missed the final 27 games last season due to left knee surgery, and recently, he was spotted hitting a game-winning shot in the Drew League. Young enters next season in competition with Lou Williams for reserve minutes, unless coach Bryon Scott decides to start Young next to Kobe Bryant on the wing. The former Sixth Man of the Year has been a rumored trade candidate, and he's rarely meshed with coach Scott. Even if Young were to improve upon his career-low 37 percent shooting from last season, his only positive fantasy categories are three-pointers and free-throw percentage.
Wed Jun 3 201514:01Young suffered fracture in left kneecap and only able to play in...
Young suffered a fracture in his left kneecap and was only able to play in 42 games during the 2014-2015 season, missing all of March and April. In his shortened campaign, Young averaged 13.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 0.5 steals, and 2.0 three-pointers in 24 minutes per game.
Young enters the offseason coming off a disappointing year in which he was sidelined for almost half of the Lakers' games. After a promising 2013-14 season with the Lakers, Swaggy P's scoring declined by 4.5 points per game along with five minutes less playing time this season. A drop in shooting percentage and defensive effort can explain the reduction in minutes. Coach Byron Scott has made it clear that Young must work hard to not only recover from his knee injury, but also improve several aspects of his game in order to compete for minutes next season. If Young is up to the challenge and able to remain focused while dealing with his celebrity lifestyle, he could retain some fantasy value heading into next season and get back to being one of the league's better bench scorers. However, there is also the possibility he'll play a diminished role and have a serious decline in production. Also, with the emergence of players like Jordan Clarkson, the Lakers might try to move Young this offseason. At this point, Young looks destined to play a limited role for the Lakers next season, and it'd likely take a litany of injuries for him to earn a big enough role to be used in most standard leagues.
Sat Apr 4 201516:11Nick Young: (Knee) Likely Out For Season
Young (knee) will likely miss the rest of the season.
Coach Byron Scott broke the news Saturday, but with fantasy leagues all but decided and only seven games left on the schedule, Young was unlikely to aid any late-season pushes.
Mon Mar 30 201511:56Young (knee) would like to return to court before end of season
Young (knee) would like to return to the court before the end of the season, the LA Daily News reports. Regarding the wing's status, coach Byron Scott stated, "We're not in a big hurry. As long as he has some problems going on in there, we're going to take our time."
Sidelined for 18 straight outings, Young isn't particularly close to game action, as there "hasn't been much improvement at all" in his fractured left knee. He'll thus miss contests Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the upcoming week, with only a glimmer of hope at the moment that he'll suit up by the Lakers' season finale on Apr. 15 against the Kings.

Young (knee) was seen taking shots before Tuesday's game against the Thunder, the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Young is still considered out but his return seems to be just around the corner. However, coach Byron Scott has been unpredictable with his lineups this season so it's unclear just what kind of role Young will have upon his eventual return to the court. As a result, it may be wise to hold off on Young until it's proven that he'll be seeing legitimate playing time.
Fri Mar 20 201513:52Young (knee) expected to remain out at least two more weeks
Young (knee) is expected to remain out at least two more weeks, the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
A CT scan revealed Young has a small fracture in his left knee, and he'll remain out at least two weeks, meaning he'll miss six more games in addition to the 12 he's already sat out. The Lakers will hope to get Young back in early April, so he won't bring much to the table, from a fantasy perspective.
Wed Mar 18 201518:45Nick Young: (Knee) To Be Evaluated Next Week
Young has a "small fracture" in his left kneecap, but he'll avoid surgery and be evaluated next week, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Due to continued complications with his left knee, Young last took the court on Feb. 22. Even though the results of a CT scan are known, a return date won't emerge until next week's examination, meaning he remains out indefinitely.

Young (knee) will not play in Thursday's game against the Jazz and is awaiting the results of a CT scan that will unveil his availability moving forward, the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Young has yet to play a game in the month of March as he continues to deal with a lingering knee agitation. The results of his CT scan should give us further detail on whether or not he'll be available for Sunday's game against the 76ers, but he should be considered out until that news is released.

Coach Byron Scott seemed less than optimistic when he addressed Young's injury concerns Sunday. Young is considered doubtful through the next week of games but his official availability has not been announced yet. He will be missing his seventh-straight game Sunday against the Mavericks and may be in store for a prolonged absence.

Fri Mar 6 201514:09Young (knee) will not play Friday against Grizzlies
Young (knee) will not play Friday against the Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Daily Times reports.
Young's swollen left knee will host him a fifth consecutive contest Friday, but the eccentric scoring guard hopes to be back in action Sunday versus the Mavericks. While his status should be monitored in advance of that contest, teammates Jeremy Lin and Wayne Ellington stand to benefit most from Young's absence Friday.
Thu Mar 5 201516:34Young (knee) listed as questionable for Friday's game against Me...
Young (knee) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against Memphis, Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Earlier in the week, Young said he doesn't anticipate playing before Sunday's game against the Mavericks, but it now appears he has a chance to return for his four-game absence Friday in Memphis. Keep an eye on his status following Friday's shootaround, as more information should be available at that point.

Young (knee) doesn't believe he'll be ready to return before Sunday's game against the Mavericks, the LA Daily News reports.
Young has already missed four games with swelling in his knee. He has yet to run, which is the last step for him before he gets cleared to play. While there's an outside chance Young could return Wednesday or Friday, it seems he's most likely to sit. Jeremy Lin and Jordan Clarkson should continue to take more shots while Young is out.
Tue Mar 3 201517:50Young (knee) will not play Tuesday against Hornets
Young (knee) will not play Tuesday against the Hornets, Mike Bresnahan of the LA Times reports.
Young will miss a fourth straight game since experiencing swelling in his knee following last Sunday's win over Boston. Coach Byron Scott said Young is still in pain, and Scott remarked that the guard is still "just really slow." At this point, Young should continue to be considered day-to-day. Unless he shows significant improvement by Wednesday morning, there's a good chance he'll miss Wednesday night's matchup with the Heat.
