C Kosta Koufos added 16 points and 13 rebounds Friday.

F Kosta Koufos was in the Kings' starting lineup Wednesday with F DeMarcus Cousins still sidelined with a sore back. In 15 games this season (five starts) before Wednesday, Koufos averaged 5.5 points and 4.7 rebounds.On Wednesday against the Bucks, he had 14 points and nine rebounds.

C Kosta Koufos started Thursday's game in place of C DeMarcus Cousins, who served a one-game suspension.

C Kosta Koufos and rookie C Willie Cauley-Stein started in the frontcourt with F DeMarcus Cousins sidelined. Koufos, in his first game against the team he played with the previous two seasons, finished with 11 points and six rebounds, while Cauley-Stein added nine points and six rebounds.

C Kosta Koufos, an offseason acquisition from the Memphis Grizzlies, had 10 points and seven rebounds in the opener.

Koufos is expected to accept a four-year deal with the Kings for $33 million, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.

Koufos spent the previous two seasons with Memphis where he only missed three regular season games over that time span. He averaged just 17 minutes per game, however, as he spent the majority of his time in Memphis coming off the bench in a limited role. Unfortunately for Koufos, more of the same is expected in Sacramento as DeMarcus Cousins and Willie Cauley-Stein garner the majority of minutes in the frontcourt.

Koufos' future with the Grizzlies is unclear as he heads into unrestricted free agency this offseason, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

Koufos has played primarily a bench role in two seasons with Memphis after coming over from Denver prior to the 2013-14 season. He's thrived behind Marc Gasol, posting modest numbers but establishing himself as an excellent rim-protector and serviceable scorer around the rim. While he's yet to tip his hand as to his free agency plans, the general belief is that Koufos will seek a destination where he can step in as a starter. The Ohio State product has started 139 games in his career, including all 81 games in which he played during the 2012-13 season. After a strong postseason performance, Koufos is expected to garner considerable interest on the open market. That puts the Grizzlies in a difficult spot, as their primary focus will be re-signing Marc Gasol. As such, there is a chance they may not truly know how much money they could devote to Koufos until it's too late.

Koufos contributed five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, one steal and three blocks in 13 minutes during the Grizzlies' 100-86 win versus the Blazers on Sunday.

Marc Gasol played 39 minutes despite the fact that the Grizzlies held a big lead for most of the second half. Koufos represents the team's lone legitimate backup center, but without injury or foul trouble to Gasol Koufos has limited upside.

Koufos scored eight points (3-6 FG, 2-2 FT) with 12 rebounds and three blocks in 24 minutes off the bench Monday.

With DeMarcus Cousins getting the night off, Koufas and the other Grizzlies bigs were able to take advantage of the depleted Kings frontcourt. Don't expect a repeat any time soon, however, as Koufas typically doesn't get enough minutes to make much of a fantasy impact.

Koufos started Thursday's game against the Wizards with Marc Gasol (rest) out. He finished the game with 10 points, four rebounds, one steal, one block and one assist in 24 minutes.

Koufos received a one-night boost from the Grizzlies resting their starters. He'll come off the bench for most of his games going forward. In 61 games this season when he comes off the bench, he's averaging just 4.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game.

Koufos will start Thursday against the Wizards, the Washington Post reports.

The Grizzlies decided to rest most of their starters and Koufos will get the rare starting nod against the Wizards. However, he'll likely head back to the bench after Thursday's game.

Koufos started Tuesday's game against the Jazz with Zach Randolph (illness) out, and grabbed 10 rebounds but only scored six points (3-10 FG, 0-2 FT) in 34 minutes.

Randolph will likely be back in a game or two, which will cut down on Koufos's minutes. In 56 games off the bench this season, he's averaging just five points, five rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 16.1 minutes.

Koufos will get the start Tuesday, the Salt Lake Tribune's Aaron Falk reports.

Zach Randolph is out with an illness so the Grizzlies opted to keep their front line imposing against a similarly big Jazz frontcourt. Koufos could offer a solid source of rebounds and a good field-goal percentage, but his usage will not reflect Randolph's on a typical night. Look for Jon Leuer to also get in the mix at the four with Randolph out, although it is difficult to envision either replacement option seeing much more than 28 minutes Tuesday.

Koufos recorded four points (1-2 FG, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 15 minutes during the Grizzlies' 102-101 win versus the Suns on Monday.

Koufos averaged 5.6 points (50.0 FG, 80.0 FT), 5.7 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.4 blocks in 18 minutes per game during 16 games in the month of January. He's an extremely valuable bench player on one of the best teams in the league, but it will likely take an injury to Marc Gasol for Koufos to become relevant in anything but the very deepest leagues.

Koufos returned to the bench against the Rockets Friday. He scored four points (1-4 FG, 2-2 FT) and added six rebounds, one steal, and one block in 14 minutes.

Koufos was replaced in the starting lineup by Jon Leuer, who was completely ineffective in his 16 minutes of action Friday. The Grizzlies have not yet settled on a replacement for the injured Zach Randolph (knee). Koufos outplayed Leuer Friday, but neither have much fantasy value unless they start to see a larger workload.

Koufos contributed five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 33 minutes during the Grizzlies' 97-91 loss versus the Jazz on Monday.

Though Koufos earned the start and saw plenty of minutes, his statistical output was underwhelming. Jon Leuer performed well starting for Zach Randolph (sore knee) in Sunday's loss versus the Cavaliers, but Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger elected to go with Koufos versus the Jazz's towering front-court on Monday. The Grizzlies are back in action on Friday versus the Rockets, giving Randolph ample time to rest and recover.

Koufos posted 16 points (8-10 FG), seven rebounds and two blocks in 17 minutes during the Grizzlies' 117-116 3OT win versus the Spurs on Wednesday.

Koufos' performance helped the Grizzlies weather the Spurs' second half storm and pull out a hard fought win against the defending champs. Still, his production is inconsistent at best with limited minutes available behind Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph down low.

Koufos could join the starting lineup versus the Spurs on Friday if Gasol's knee injury forces him to sit out.

Gasol (knee) missed time last year, and Koufos did an admirable job filling in for him. During Gasol's absence last season, Koufos started 22 games, averaging 8.8 points (45.9 FG, 71.4 FT), 8.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 1.2 blocks and 0.5 steals in 24 minutes per game. Gasol could very well end up starting versus the Spurs tonight, but if he's unable to play Koufos is the most likely to earn the start at center. Jon Leuer would also be in line for more minutes, but Leuer is more of a four, and the Grizzlies don't have a true third center on the roster at the moment. Therefore, if Gasol is forced to sit Koufos could be forced into heavy minutes versus the Spurs on Friday.

Koufos (illness) returned to the lineup and posted two points (1-2 FG, 2-2 FT) and one rebound in 15 minutes during the Grizzlies' 117-100 win versus the Celtics on Friday.

His performance wasn't anything to write home about, but it was still nice to see Koufos (illness) make his return to the lineup. Still, he likely won't see heavy minutes unless Marc Gasol or Zach Randolph were to suffer an injury.
