Meeks scored 13 points (5-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), to go along with four rebounds, one assist, and a steal in 26 minutes on Sunday.
Meeks has been carving out steady mid-20 minutes for himself lately and is good for a couple three-pointers, a steal, and handful of points. He's a good guy to have on the back of your bench, but as long as Detroit is planning on playing KCP heavy minutes then Meeks' upside is capped.

Meeks scored 34 points (11-16 FG; 9-11 3Pt) with two steals in 27 minutes in Tuesday's blowout win against the Magic.
Meeks was simply on fire in this one, hitting a preposterous nine three-pointers against the hapless Orlando reserves, including all six of his three-point attempts in a 20-point second quarter. Tuesday was only Meeks' ninth game of the season, after he missed eight weeks with a stress reaction in his back. As a result, Meeks has only played 30 minutes once this season, despite being new coach Stan Van Gundy's major signing this offseason. As he continues to get his legs back under him, Meeks should start to see bigger minutes and could be a valuable contributor for fantasy owners looking for three-pointers and steals.

Meeks scored 20 points (5-10 FG, 3-5 3P, 7-7 FT) with four assists and two steals in 30 minutes off the bench Monday.
In just his third game of the season, Meeks finally looked like the player the Pistons thought they signed this offseason. He badly outplayed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in this one, and it may not be long before Meeks bumps KCP out of the starting lineup.

Meeks (back) played in his first game of the season Friday, scoring 12 points (4-10 FG, 4-4 FT) in 22 minutes off the bench.
Meeks had been out for eight weeks with a stress reaction in his back, but was second on the Pistons in bench minutes in a win over the Suns. The shooting guard didn't do much else to fill up the box score outside of his scoring, but will likely play a decent role off the bench for the struggling Pistons, who just broke a 13-game losing streak.

Meeks (back) will play Friday against the Suns.
Coach Stan Van Gundy said he has "no expectations" for Meeks, but he'll "run him out there" as the Pistons take on the Suns. The Kentucky product, one of the better catch-and-shoot guards in the league, is yet to play this season due to a stress reaction in his lower back. He signed on with Detroit as a free agent this summer. While Meeks is worth a look in most leagues, it may be worth waiting to see how he's used once healthy, as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope may hold onto the starting designation.

Meeks (back) went through a full practice Wednesday and hopes to make his debut Friday against Phoenix.
Coach Stan Van Gundy said Meeks looked better than expected during the session, so barring a setback, he should return to the lineup Friday. If that's not the case, Saturday against Sacramento will be his next opportunity. Meeks, who is yet to play this season, shot 40.1 percent from three-point range on more than five attempts per game for the Lakers last season.

Meeks (back) could return as soon as Friday against the SunsKeith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.
Meeks, who has been out for more than eight weeks with a stress reaction in his lower-back, is nearing a return, and that could come Friday in Phoenix, provided he practices Wednesday and Thursday. If Meeks does not play Friday, he could take the court Saturday in Sacramento or Monday against the Clippers. The veteran will likely come off the bench but could challenge Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for the starting shooting guard designation once he works his way into game shape.
Tue Dec 2 201413:39Meeks (back) hopes to be cleared next week
Meeks (back) hopes to be cleared next week, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.
Monday marks the eight-week mark for Meeks, who's recovering from a lower-back stress reaction suffered during the preseason. He's been increasing his activity levels of late and hopes to be cleared to practice next week. Once he's able to take that next step, the guard said he anticipates returning to game action in short order. "A few practices and I'll be ready," Meeks said. The forward-heavy Pistons are desperate for shooting, so the Kentucky product should be an immediate source for three-pointers, assuming he carves out a significant minutes load at shooting guard alongside Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Tue Nov 25 201422:42Meeks (back) has picked up intensity of workouts recently
Meeks (back) has picked up the intensity of his workouts recently, but a firm timetable for his return has not been updated, the Pistons' official site reports.
Meeks has a stress reaction in his lower back that was discovered in the second week of October. According to his initial timeline, Meeks should be out until mid-December, but there have been no updates on that timetable for his return. The Pistons are reeling and need shooting, so whenever Meeks returns, he'll be a player to watch in case he gets enough minutes to be of use for scoring and three-pointers in 12-team leagues or deeper.

Meeks, who is now three weeks into his recovery from a lower-back injury, is expected to begin his physical rehabilitation soon, Mlive.com reports.
Meeks is currently projected to be sidelined until mid-December. Once his physical rehabilitation is in full-throttle, we should have a more concrete timetable for his return.

Meeks (back) had a stress reaction in his lower back and will likely be sidelined for a few months.
This is obviously a significant blow to the Pistons, who brought Meeks in as a free agent this offseason. He'll likely be out until late-December or early-January, opening the door for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to grab a firm hold on the starting shooting guard job once he returns from a knee sprain. Meeks' absence could also mean increased minutes for Kyle Singler and veteran Caron butler.
Sat Oct 11 201413:17Meeks (back) did not practice Saturday
Meeks (back) did not practice Saturday, MLive.com reports.
A bout of back spasms kept Meeks from Thursday's exhibition as well as Friday's practice, and it seems his discomfort is still lingering. His chances of playing in Sunday's preseason game against the Wizards seem minimal.
Fri Oct 10 201415:55Meeks (back) didn't practice Friday
Meeks (back) didn't practice Friday, NBA.com's Keith Langlois reports.
He is dealing with back spasms, so it's unlikely that this carries into the regular season, although back issues occasionally crop back up. Meeks will cost next-to-nothing on draft day, yet he could return production resembling that of a poor man's Kyle Korver playing in Stan Van Gundy's offense.

Meeks has been ruled out of Thursday's preseason game versus the Bucks due to back spasms.
Meeks' absence will allow rising second-year player Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to start at shooting guard for Detroit. Behind him, reserve Cartier Martin is expected to return from a shoulder problem. At the moment, it's unclear whether Meeks will be sidelined beyond Thursday because of his back spasms.

Meeks will compete with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for the starting shooting guard job, the Detroit Free Press reports.
After signing a three-year, $19-million contract with the Pistons this offseason, Meeks is considered the favorite to land the starting gig. Meeks offers the Pistons some much-needed three-point shooting, whereas Caldwell-Pope has the edge on the defensive side of the ball, which is another area of need for the Pistons on the perimeter. The two could also see the floor together for stretches, with Caldwell-Pope sliding over to small forward when the Pistons roll out a smaller lineup. The winner of the position battle will hold the edge in fantasy appeal, but both players figure to play large roles in the Pistons' rotation, regardless of who nabs the spot in the starting lineup.
Mon Jul 28 201416:04DET thinks Jodie Meeks is more than a shooter
Detroit management thinks Jodie Meeks is more than just a shooter.
"Players like Jodie take a lot of pride in developing other parts of their game. That's something that's driven his progress," Pistons' GM Jeff Bower said. "He's worked hard to become an adequate defender... The ability to make plays and put other people in position to be successful is something his unselfish nature just lends itself to. And, lastly, no dominant inside attack can be as potent without the play in the backcourt, either through spacing the floor or creating an inside-out threat. All of those things aren't lost on Jodie and he has impact in all of those areas."

Thu Jul 10 201416:53Jodie Meeks & KCP in competition for SG spot
Stan van Gundy said on Thursday that the battle for the starting shooting guard spot for the Pistons will be a "great competition."
Meeks signed a 3-year, $19.5 million contract to presumably be the teams' starting shooting guard for next season. But 2013 first-round pick Kentavios Caldwell-Pope has been impressive at the Orlando Summer League, averaging 27 points a game. "Between his (Caldwell-Pope's) summer league and us getting Jodie Meeks, that's a position I feel really, really good about," Van Gundy said. The Pistons' backcourt situation is a bit unclear, and fantasy owners should be cautious of drafting Meeks or KCP too early.

Tue Jul 1 201416:53Pistons ink Jodie Meeks for three years, $19M
Jodie Meeks has agreed to a three-year, $19 million deal with the Pistons, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
This is an eyebrow-raising salary for Meeks, who tied for 22nd in 3-point percentage last season (40.1 percent) and 17th in 3-pointers made (162). Finances aside, the 26-year-old shooting guard should fit well with coach Stan Van Gundy's penchant for 3-point shooting and he looks like the favorite to start at SG ahead of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Kyle Singler. Tuesday's signing of both Meeks and Cartier Martin makes it even less likely that Detroit will try to re-sign Rodney Stuckey in free agency.

Tue Jul 1 201403:07Lakers reach out to Jodie Meeks on Monday
The Lakers reached out to unrestricted free agent Jodie Meeks just after midnight on Monday.
Meeks had a good season for a really bad Lakers team and probably earned something around the mid-level or mini mid-level exception this year. He needs a pretty good fantasy situation to hold standard league value, even after crushing it this past season.

Sun Apr 13 201409:49Jodie Meeks would like to return to the LAL
Jodie Meeks, an impending free agent, expressed his desire to return to the Lakers next season.
"When I signed here two years ago, I told my family that I would love to be here the rest of my career," Meeks said. Meeks has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise horrendous season for the Lakers, as he's averaged 15.6 points, 1.4 steals, and 2.1 three-pointers, all career highs. While these averages are impressive, it should be noted that the Lakers have played severely undermanned for much of the season, giving Jodie an opportunity to be a first or second option on offense (an opportunity that would not be there with a healthy Kobe). It's unclear exactly who will be brought back next season, but Jodie has certainly made his case as a guy who can be a more than effective role player.
