Doug Collins said that Maalik Wayns has to work on his on-ball defense in order to stay on the floor consistently.
Collins likes Wayns' ability to help on the offensive end, but it's a game played at both ends of the floor. "We want him going in the right direction," Collins said. He's worth watching in extremely deep leagues, but that's about it.

Doug Collins said Maalik Wayns' wasn't "himself" for two weeks following a head injury.
Wayns had a season-high 10 points and added two 3-pointers in 13 minutes Tuesday and appears to have a solid hold on the Sixers' backup PG job. Collins also said he trusts Wayns to take his shots and if you're in a deep league, he could be worth watching.

He scored seven points in his previous game and might be ready to become a part of the regular rotation in Philly. If you're in a 20-team league, it's possible Wayns could become relevant, so just keep an eye on him.

Wayns was battling a head contusion but was never diagnosed with a concussion. He'll be Jrue Holiday's backup on opening night and has no fantasy value in that role.

Maalik Wayns (head), Kwame Brown (calf) and Evan Turner (ankle) all did not practice on Wednesday.
Each player is still listed as day-to-day, but the trio missed another day of practice on Wednesday. Wayns and Turner are tentatively expected to be ready for the season opener, but Brown's status is currently up in the air.
