Sun Mar 27 202217:10C.J. McCollum Tagged As Questionable For Sunday
New Orleans Pelicans guard C.J. McCollum (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Brandon Ingram (hamstring) is expected to return and should carry a heavy workload, assuming McCollum cannot play. Devonte' Graham could end up staying in the starting five, assuming McCollum is out. He'd be asked to take on more responsibility. The Pelicans have a bunch of banged up players, so fantasy managers will have to check back later in the day.

Tue Mar 15 202215:29C.J. McCollum Available On Tuesday
New Orleans Pelicans guard C.J. McCollum has cleared the league's health and safety protocols. That being said, McCollum is allowed to return on Tuesday after missing each of the last two games. This is good news for the Pelicans as they'll need McCollum against a tough Phoenix Suns roster. Devonte' Graham should shift back to the bench and won't have as much streaming appeal. Fantasy managers should expect McCollum to slide into the starting five and be the focal point on offense.

Mon Mar 14 202218:20C.J. McCollum Earns Questionable Tag For Tuesday’s Game
New Orleans Pelicans point/shooting guard C.J. McCollum has been listed as questionable to suit up for Tuesday's contest against the Suns. McCollum has missed each of New Orleans' past two games under the league's health and safety protocols, paving the way for Devonte' Graham to rejoin the starting five. McCollum has been an elite fantasy asset since joining the Pelicans, averaging 27.1 points, 6.7 assists and 5.6 rebounds across his first 12 contests, all while shooting 52.7% overall. A return from McCollum would take much of Graham's DFS shine away, although Brandon Ingram (hamstring) will remain sidelined. Fantasy managers will want to check back for McCollum's status, as he would be New Orleans' far-and-away No. 1 scoring option if he suits up.

Sat Mar 12 202223:51C.J. McCollum Remains Out On Sunday Night
New Orleans Pelicans guard C.J. McCollum won't play on Sunday against Houston while he continues to adhere to the league's policy surrounding COVID-19. The former Trail Blazer wasn't available on Friday evening versus Charlotte, nor was Brandon Ingram (hamstring). As a result, Devonte' Graham got the start, finishing with 19 points, seven assists, and three steals. However, Trey Murphy III led the team in scoring on the night, with the rookie compiling 32 points off the bench. Nonetheless, both Graham and Murphy should continue to draw interest from fantasy managers, especially those participating in DFS competitions.

Thu Mar 10 202218:35C.J. McCollum Entering Health And Safety Protocols
New Orleans Pelicans point guard C.J. McCollum has been placed in the league's health and safety protocols. As a result, he will miss Friday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. This is rough and untimely news for McCollum, who had really been rolling lately with exactly 32 points in each of his last two games. It's unclear how many games he'll miss at this point. For Friday's game, the Pelicans will also be without Brandon Ingram (hamstring), so look for Devonte' Graham to shoulder a heavy load offensively. Jose Alvarado should have a lot of scoring opportunities as well.

Wed Feb 9 202218:31C.J. McCollum To Debut With Pelicans On Thursday
The New Orleans Pelicans have announced via their team Twitter account that newly-acquired guard C.J. McCollum and guard/forward Tony Snell will make their debuts with the team on Thursday, when the Pelicans face the Miami Heat. McCollum should take on a large role with the Pelicans as one of the team's primary playmakers. Over 36 games with the Portland Trail Blazers this year, McCollum averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 three-pointers per game. Snell, meanwhile, only played 14.4 minutes per game with the Trail Blazers this year. He should see similar minutes with the Pelicans and isn't someone worthy of attention for fantasy purposes at this point.

Tue Feb 8 202212:14Pelicans Acquire C.J. McCollum In Seven-Player Trade
The New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers completed a trade on Tuesday that will send C.J. McCollum, Larry Nance Jr. and Tony Snell to New Orleans. In exchange, the Trail Blazers will receive Josh Hart, Tomas Satoransky, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Didi Louzada, a protected 2022 first round pick and two second round picks. Expect to see McCollum make his Pelicans debut on Thursday when the team faces the Miami Heat. His value for fantasy purposes should remain about the same going forward. His usage may go down slightly, but he'll have more help around him. Meanwhile, Hart and Alexander-Walker should enter the Portland rotation immediately and they could certainly prove to be two of the team's better producers down the stretch this year.

Thu Dec 23 202119:30C.J. McCollum Recovers From Lung Issue, Remains Out
Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum (lung) got positive news Thursday with the team announcing that he has recovered from a collapsed lung that has kept him out since Dec. 4. McCollum will miss at least the team's next two games as it further evaluates a return to play. Without his 20.6 points per game average in the mix, Anfernee Simons has taken on an increased role, while Damian Lillard has further asserted himself offensively. McCollum remains tied for the fourth-most made three-point attempts per game (3.2) this season, as he is on pace for a seventh straight year of averaging at least 20 points per contest. Fantasy managers will want to check in next week for further updates to McCollum's status.

Tue Dec 7 202120:40C.J. McCollum Out Indefinitely
Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum (lung) won't be returning to the court anytime soon. The star guard was held out of Monday's contest due to a rib contusion. However, the team has announced that McCollum is dealing with a collapsed right lung. It sounds like the organization plans to evaluate him further. Although, fantasy managers shouldn't expect McCollum back on the court anytime soon. Dennis Smith Jr. becomes an automatic pickup as basically the only healthy guard on the roster. Anfernee Simons (ankle) will get plenty of run as well once he is back in the picture.

Wed Dec 1 202108:58C.J. McCollum Leads The Way Against Detroit
Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum was the top scorer with 28 points in Tuesday's 110-92 win over Detroit, hitting 4-for-11 from downtown and shooting 11-for-26 overall from the field. He handed out six assists with one turnover and recorded four rebounds and two steals in 36 minutes. Portland finished off a back-to-back set and was missing multiple guys, including Damian Lillard (rest), and McCollum carried a big load. He set a new season high with 26 shot attempts. Lillard should be back for Thursday's contest against San Antonio which will lower McCollum's usage. The matchup isn't particularly pleasant for shooting guards either.

Wed Nov 24 202108:42C.J. McCollum Scores Game-High 32 Points In Tuesday's Win
Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum had a great night against Denver on Tuesday, scoring a game-high 32 points on 13-for-19 shooting in a 119-100 win. He shot 5-for-9 from three-point land and picked up three rebounds and three assists with two steals, going 34 minutes without a single turnover. This was McCollum's second 30-point night of the season and the first since getting things started with 34 points against Sacramento. He's talked about the team needing time to adjust to a new coaching staff, and it seems like the Blazers have finally found their stride, having recorded four consecutive wins. They'll be back in action on Wednesday against a poor defensive team, the Kings. The week finishes with a huge challenge against Golden State on Friday.

Mon Nov 15 202108:59C.J. McCollum Has Five Triples, 21 Points Against Nuggets
Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum scored a team-high 21 points in a heavy defeat against Denver on Sunday, shooting 5-for-10 from behind the arc and 7-for-17 overall from the field. He had a chance to lead the offense with Damian Lillard (abdomen) sitting this one out. McCollum's line included two rebounds, two assists and two steals with two turnovers in 30 minutes. Lillard has apparently been slightly injured ever since the Olympics and that is likely the reason why he's not had a very good start to the season. McCollum has done well by averaging a 22-4-4 line, but he's currently shooting just 42 percent from the field and must improve. The Blazers play again on Monday against the Raptors and DFS managers should focus on McCollum if Lillard remains out.

Sat Nov 6 202108:49C.J. McCollum Scores Efficient 27 Points
Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum continued to lead the way for his squad in Friday's victory over Indiana. McCollum had to pick up the offensive slack once again with Damian Lillard struggling to knock down shots- and the former didn't disappoint, pouring in 27 points with five threes. It's the third time this year that the Lehigh product has shot at least 50 percent from both the field and beyond the arc- as his hot shooting has kept Portland in the mix out West. McCollum has been doing it all too, as evidenced by his averages of 4.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game.

Thu Oct 28 202112:45C.J. McCollum Scores Game-High 25 Points
Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum kept up his recent strong play in Wednesday's victory over Memphis. McCollum poured in a game-high 25 points on 8-for-21 shooting from the field, chipping in four three-pointers while draining 5 of 6 free throws. The veteran shooting guard rounded out his productive night with six boards, two assists, two steals, and a block. McCollum is on-pace for career-best scoring numbers- though backcourt mate Damian Lillard's scoring struggles may have something to do with his increased output. Still, McCollum remains a strong start for what should be a high-scoring affair against the Clippers on Friday.

Sun Oct 24 202108:33C.J. McCollum Gets 28 Points In Saturday's Win
Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum continued his good start to the season with a 28-point performance in Saturday's 134-105 win over Phoenix. He sank six triples with 11 attempts and shot 10-for-19 overall from the field with a 2-for-2 effort at the line. McCollum also put in a big shift at the defensive end, swatting away a game-high three shots with one steal. His night also included three rebounds and one assist with two turnovers in 30 minutes. McCollum is currently spitting flames and will get to do it again versus the Clippers next. Tyronn Lue's squad is off to a slow start to the season and has struggled defensively, which gives McCollum a good platform to go off once more.

Sun Oct 10 202100:19C.J. McCollum Out Against Sacramento
Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum (coach's decision) won't play during Monday night's exhibition clash against the Kings. With the team playing three preseason games throughout the week, head coach Chauncey Billups will hold him out. Damian Lillard isn't going to suit up either, so fantasy managers should look for Anfernee Simons, Ben McLemore, Dennis Smith Jr., and Quinn Cook to get some minutes against Sacramento. Still, Simons should be the preferred option for DFS lineups.

Tue Jun 29 202118:59Blazers introduce Billups, 'stand by' hire amid criticism
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Portland Trail Blazers went into damage-control mode while introducing Chauncey Billups as their new coach Tuesday, amid questions about how they selected him over more experienced candidates and how sexual assault allegations were lodged against him nearly a quarter-century ago. Billups never faced charges related to those allegations that came out in 1997 and settled out of court with the accuser three years later. He addressed that chapter Tuesday, though when he was asked to elaborate on some of those comments the Trail Blazers refused to let him answer. Neil Olshey, the team’s president of basketball operations, said the team hired an independent firm to look into the sexual assault allegations and determined that nothing nonconsensual had occurred. “We stand by Chauncey, everyone in the organization, and believe he’s the right choice to be our head coach, and the right choice to be the kind of ambassador in the Portland community everybody here has become... Sat Jun 5 202100:42Trail Blazers, Terry Stotts parting ways after 9 seasons
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — No team in the NBA has a longer active streak of postseason appearances than the Portland Trail Blazers, who have gotten there in each of the last eight seasons. That wasn’t enough to save Terry Stotts, and Portland will have a new coach next season. The Trail Blazers and Stotts parted ways Friday, ending a nine-year run that saw the team good enough to get to the playoffs — but not good enough to get past the first round in four of the last five seasons. “I have the utmost respect for Terry and what he has accomplished these past nine seasons,” Blazers President Neil Olshey said. “This was a difficult decision on both a personal and professional level but it’s in the best interest of the franchise to move in another direction. “Terry will always hold a special place in the Trail Blazer family and the Portland community. We relied on the integrity, professionalism and consistency he brought to the job every day and we wish he and Jan nothing but the best.” It was being... [More]

Fri Jun 4 202118:32Blazers face uncertain offseason after playoff elimination
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — After a second straight first-round playoff exit, it has become clear the Portland Trail Blazers need more than just the heroics of Damian Lillard. It is all but certain the Blazers will look different next season. Even Lillard fueled speculation about his own future in Portland following the elimination loss to the Denver Nuggets. He posted a photo of himself in street clothes at the Moda Center. The caption that he added quoted the late rapper and activist Nipsey Hussle. “How long should I stay dedicated?” he wrote. “How long til opportunity meet preparation?” Portland finished the regular season 42-30 and earned the sixth seed in the Western Conference. It was the team's eighth straight trip to the playoffs, the longest active streak in the league. Portland was riding momentum, having won 10 of its final 12 regular-season games. The Blazers were also healthy, with both big man Jusuf Nurkic and guard CJ McCollum back from extended absences because of injuries. But... [More]
