McLemore (face) started Wednesday, but was held scoreless (0-5 FG) with two rebounds, and one assist in 26 minutes.
The athletic shooting guard got off to a rough start to the season, as he did not contribute much statistically in 26 minutes. McLemore struggled offensively last season, so hopefully this performance is not a sign of what this season will be like for the second year player. It's possible that the stitches he got for his cut above his eye are still bothering him, but he should continue to play through the injury.

McLemore received five stitches above his right eye and passed a precautionary concussion assessment test after bumping heads with the Lakers' Wayne Ellington on Friday, Yahoo Sports reports.
McLemore's status for Wednesday's season opener is uncertain.

McLemore left Friday's preseason game late after bumping heads with the Lakers' Wayne Ellington, the Sacramento Bee reports.
The collision left McLemore with a cut above his right eye, and he had to be help off the floor by a trainer. It's certainly not how the Kings wanted to end the preseason -- Rudy Gay also left after being hit in the jaw -- as McLemore will need stitches to close the laceration. His status for Wednesday's season opener is up in the air.

McLemore got his 2015-16 contract option picked up by the Kings on Sunday, James Ham of Cowbell Kingdom reports.
McLemore is poised to start at shooting guard for the Kings this season and picking up his contract shows that they believe he'll be an integral part of their rotation moving forward. During his rookie season, the 21-year-old averaged 8.8 points and 2.9 rebounds on 26.7 minutes per game.

McLemore scored 22 points (7-13 FG, 3-4 3P, 5-5 FT) with three rebounds in 40 minutes during the Kings' preseason OT loss to the Nets.
The sophomore had a great night from the floor, and outplayed Nik Stauskas in the latest battle of the young Kings' shooting guards. McLemore seems ready to take on a bigger role in the Sacramento offense this season.

McLemore is expected to play alongside rookie shooting guard Nik Stauskas in certain lineups, the Kings' official website reports. "What I've seen is that Ben and Nik can play together without any problem. When you have two guys who have the potential to shoot as well as they do, it's going to pose problems for other teams," coach Michael Malone said.
McLemore struggled mightily last season after being selected seventh overall in the 2013 draft. He only managed 8.8 points per game and shot 38 percent from the field while playing 27 minutes per game. However, with the addition of Stauskas and the coach's plan on using the pair together, McLemore should see equal or even more playing time this season. His fantasy output should increase with Stauskas' ability to draw defenders and distribute the ball to his teammates.
Mon Jul 21 201410:03Kings still committed to Ben McLemore
The Kings are still committed to 2013 draft pick Ben McLemore.
I told him," coach Michael Malone said of McLemore, " `Listen, we drafted Nik Stauskas. That's not any slight on you. We still believe in you. You're still our guy and we still expect great things from you from Year 1 to Year 2.'" McLemore has really struggled on both ends of the floor. At times, he was replaced defensively by Marcus Thornton, which is saying something. On offense, he really hasn't been able to separate. There's little reason to draft him in any fantasy league.

Thu Jul 17 201418:56Ben McLemore drops 22 in win against T-Wolves
Ben McLemore scored 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting to go with six boards, four assists, one steal and one block.
This was McLemore's best game of Summer League thus far as he shot with confidence and did not looked overwhelmed on the defensive end. He vastly outplayed his teammate Nik Stauskas (four points, 1-of-3 shooting) in the win on Thursday as the two continue to battle for the starting shooting guard spot for the Kings.

Mon Jul 14 201419:53Ben McLemore gets a good game in Monday
Ben McLemore scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting on Monday to go with six boards, five turnovers and one 3-pointer.
His regular season ended on a high note with a 31-point outing vs. the Suns on Apr. 16, but he hasn't done much else since. McLemore was overdue for a good game and he's lost a lot of ground on Nik Stauskas.

Sun Jul 13 201420:16Ben McLemore has another bad game on Sunday
Ben McLemore's struggles continued again on Sunday vs. the Hornets, making 4-of-10 from the field for 11 points, one rebound, no assists, five fouls, three turnovers and no 3-pointers.
All of his makes were around the basket and he just can't hit shots these days. McLemore was also exposed on defense, which has arguably been his biggest weakness among more than we can count. He needs a big game in the worst way.

Sat Jul 12 201400:09Ben McLemore starts off poorly in Vegas
Ben McLemore shot 2-of-8 from the field for 11 points with three boards, four fouls and two 3-pointers.
He had an inexcusable eight turnovers and was outplayed by rookie Nik Stauskas tonight. His shot selection didn't get any better either. McLemore said he'd like to improve and become a better all-around player, but he just didn't play within himself. He's in jeopardy of losing playing time despite Isaiah Thomas heading out of town.

Tue Jul 8 201411:06Ben McLemore looking to prove himself
Ben McLemore said on Monday that he's looking to prove he's more than a spot-up shooter.
Well, he wasn't much of a spot-up shooter last season. McLemore made just 29.7 percent of his spot-up shots in his rookie campaign (Synergy) and never got his game off the ground. He had a disappointing Las Vegas Summer League last July and will look to have a better showing this time around. Plus, there is more pressure on him with the Kings drafting Nik Stauskas with the eighth pick.

Thu Jun 26 201419:55Celtics-Kings talking trade for Ben McLemore
The Celtics and Kings are discussing a trade sending Ben McLemore to Boston for the sixth overall pick, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
McLemore was selected seventh overall in last years' draft, but was disappointing in his rookie campaign. He only averaged 8.8 points on 37.6 percent shooting for the Kings. Although no deal has been made yet, it is surprising the Celtics value McLemore higher than some of the top prospects in this years draft.

Fri Jun 13 201413:51Ben McLemore headed to summer league
Ben McLemore will play in Las Vegas Summer League in July.
He was there last summer and didn't look great. His inability to get his own shot carried over into the regular season, so that will likely be a major focus of the coaching staff again this July. He's not worth drafting in most fantasy leagues just yet.

Thu Apr 17 201401:16Ben McLemore scores career-high 31 points
Ben McLemore ended his season with a bang on Wednesday during a 104-99 loss to the Suns, scoring a career-high 31 points with five boards, five assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 42 minutes.
He scored 19 points on Sunday and figured out how to get his own shot to close the season. McLemore's off-the-ball game needed some work throughout the year and his isolation game was non-existent for much of the season, but he showed some promise. Still, the sample size is too small to make him a target in drafts next season.

Mon Apr 14 201400:40Ben McLemore drops 19 points vs. Timberwolves
Kings rookie Ben McLemore scored 19 points on 6-of-11 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs with three 3-pointers on Sunday, marking his second-highest scoring total of the season.
His 39 minutes were second only to Derrick Williams and it's encouraging to see him catch fire from the field, since his 37.0 percent shooting is a glaring problem for a 'shooting guard'. He was the No. 7 pick in the 2013 draft and the Kings have played him 26 minutes as a rookie, so he should get no lack of opportunities during his sophomore season.

Sat Apr 12 201418:52Ben McLemore ejected after two technicals
Ben McLemore was ejected from Saturday's game after picking up two technical fouls, and he finished the game with 14 points, two 3-pointers and one rebound in 32 minutes.
McLemore's second technical was assessed after he pushed J.J. Redick in the face, though it's unlikely to result in any further punishment or suspension. Travis Outlaw and Jared Cunningham added six points apiece to lead the Kings' reserves, but it wasn't nearly enough to steal a road win vs. the Clippers.

Wed Apr 9 201401:10Ben McLemore plays 39 minutes in loss
Ben McLemore played 39 minutes and hit 3-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists in Tuesday's loss.
The Kings are banged up and have nothing left to play for and McLemore could be a very sneak play down the stretch. Especially if he can start hitting some shots.

Tue Apr 1 201401:43McLemore scores 14 points vs. Pelicans
Ben McLemore scored 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds, one block and four turnovers in 38 minutes on Monday against the Pelicans.
McLemore has been playing a low-end level in 12-team leagues over the last week, and even though the Kings will run him hard to end the year he'll need one of the Big Three to be out to hang on here. Isaiah Thomas could return at any time, so McLemore remains a speculative add at best in standard leagues.

Sun Mar 30 201400:29Ben McLemore is fine after minor injury
Ben McLemore played 33 minutes vs. the Mavericks on Saturday with 10 points, two boards, two assists and one 3-pointer.
He went to the bench in the third quarter with an apparent leg issue, but he was able to return and seems fine. McLemore still hasn't hit his stride yet in his rookie season and he might want to head to Las Vegas Summer League again to help him develop.
