Sat Jan 29 202219:52Kyle Anderson Available On Saturday
Memphis Grizzlies forward Kyle Anderson will play during Saturday's game against the Washington Wizards. Anderson has been cleared of the league's health and safety protocols before this game. However, COVID-19 protocols cost Anderson each of the last five games. His return could hinder the value of Brandon Clarke. Although, Clarke has been playing well lately, so possibly the Grizzlies continue to give him a significant role. There's no word on Anderson being limited, so he should be fine for his normal amount of minutes on Saturday.

Tue Jan 18 202218:42Desmond Bane, Kyle Anderson Land In COVID-19 Protocols
Memphis Grizzlies shooting guard Desmond Bane and small/power forward Kyle Anderson have been placed in the league's health and safety protocols, ruling them out indefinitely. Bane has been a breakout sensation in his second season, with his scoring average climbing up to 17.7 PPG in addition to shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc. Anderson has slid into a bench role in 2021-22, which has drastically affected his scoring upside, likely putting him on the wrong side of the waiver wire in many season-long formats. De'Anthony Melton and John Konchar are likely to step into larger roles for Bane and Anderson, respectively, while Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. can be expected to carry even more of the offensive heavy lifting for the time being.

Thu Jan 6 202218:46Kyle Anderson Is Doubtful For Thursday
Memphis Grizzlies forward Kyle Anderson (back) is listed as doubtful for Thursday's game against the Detroit Pistons. He has cleared the league's health and safety protocols. Although, he'll likely sit this game out due to lingering back soreness. His absence will mean more minutes for Brandon Clarke. He has played well in Anderson's absence and could see even more minutes with Xavier Tillman (conditioning) likely unavailable. That means, Clarke is someone worth snagging as a streaming option or DFS choice for Thursday.

Sat Dec 11 202120:01Kyle Anderson Joins Starting Five On Saturday
Memphis Grizzlies forward Kyle Anderson will move into the starting five for Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets. Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) will be sidelined, which gives way for Anderson to join the starters. That being said, Anderson should have plenty of streaming appeal and DFS value for this contest. He'll likely see minutes in the 30 range with the Grizzlies being shorthanded. Fantasy managers should hold onto Anderson in the short term since this knee issue could cause Jackson to miss more than one game.

Thu Dec 9 202114:12Kyle Anderson Listed As Questionable For Thursday
Memphis Grizzlies forward Kyle Anderson (back) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Anderson continues to deal with back soreness and is likely to miss his fifth game in a row. Dillon Brooks should see minutes in the 30s without Anderson available. He'll have increased streaming appeal while Anderson remains sidelined. Santi Aldama and John Konchar should see a few more minutes. However, neither of them have enough value to warrant starting in any formats.

Wed Dec 8 202113:52Kyle Anderson Tagged As Doubtful For Wednesday
Memphis Grizzlies forward Kyle Anderson (back) is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. It sounds like Anderson is in danger of missing his fourth straight contest. Santi Aldama and John Konchar have picked up the slack in his absence. However, neither of them are reliable enough to start in basically any fantasy formats. Fantasy managers should check back later on Wednesday for an update on Anderson, but it sounds like he is headed towards another absence.

Fri Dec 3 202120:36Kyle Anderson Ruled Out For Saturday
Memphis Grizzlies forward Kyle Anderson (back) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. This is a full day before tip-off, so Anderson could be looking at missing some time. De'Anthony Melton scored 19 points in Anderson's absence last night. Tyus Jones has also seen an increase in playing time. However, Melton appears to be the better fantasy option between the two. He is worth looking at as a streaming option and low cost DFS choice with Anderson out for Saturday's slate.

Thu Dec 2 202119:02Kyle Anderson, Ziaire Williams Ruled Out For Thursday’s Game
Memphis Grizzlies power forward Kyle Anderson (back) and small forward Ziaire Williams (knee) will both miss Thursday's contest against the Thunder. Anderson's absence will be his first of the season, while Williams' climbs to two with a sore left knee. Without either in the frontcourt, John Konchar and Brandon Clarke could take on added duties within the second unit. Also down Ja Morant (knee), Memphis will have ample elevated offensive opportunities against a Thunder squad that ranks near the middle of the pace in defensive efficiency (105.4) this season. The next chance for Anderson or Williams to return comes Saturday vs. Dallas.

Thu Jun 3 202121:41Grizzlies see bright future after surprising playoff push
The Memphis Grizzlies believe they have a great foundation after returning to the playoffs much faster than anyone outside the franchise expected. That makes losing their first-round series to the top-seeded Utah Jazz a little easier to take. “We definitely didn't want our season to end the way it did, but I mean we have a lot to be proud of," guard Ja Morant said after Memphis was eliminated in five games by Utah. "Our fight. We had an unbelievable season. We achieved one of our goals. ... We know what we got to do. Everybody's hungry for more.” Memphis exceeded expectations by finishing 38-34 to reach the NBA's new play-in tournament. The Grizzlies beat San Antonio, then the Golden State Warriors on the road to earn the No. 8 seed and snap a four-year playoff drought. That made the Grizzlies not only the youngest team this postseason but the youngest in the playoffs since Oklahoma City in 2011. They won Game 1 before falling in five games to the team that posted the NBA's best record... [More]

Tue May 25 202118:51Doc Rivers baffled by continued criticism of Ben Simmons
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Doc Rivers can’t fathom criticism of Ben Simmons, especially after the three-time All-Star became just the sixth player in NBA history to have at least 15 rebounds and 15 assists in a playoff game. “Only in Philadelphia,” Rivers said Tuesday when asked about the critics. “If you guys don’t know the treasure you have by now, then shame on everyone because he’s been fantastic for us. He creates points every single night for us. When Ben was on the floor, we were really good. “I’m amazed that people don’t see what he does. We’re so caught up in the amount of points he scored. ... Does it matter if Ben had all 125? Would we be mad that Joel (Embiid) didn’t score? Who cares who scores as long as we’re scoring. ... When Ben plays, we score more points.” Simmons scored six points in Philadelphia's 125-118 victory over Washington in Game 1 of their first-round series opener. He missed all six of his free throws and his shooting deficiencies sometimes overshadow his all-around... [More]
Mon Sep 30 201918:14Revamped and youthful Memphis Grizzlies ready to get to work
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The remaking of the Memphis Grizzlies began the day after last season ended for them in April. That's when a new front office staff began making moves at an almost dizzying pace.Shipping off the popular and well-paid Mike Conley to Utah was the biggest of the seven trades Memphis made to overhaul the roster, stockpile draft picks and start creating salary cap space."Who knew you could make so many trades?" Zach Kleiman, the executive vice president of basketball operations, asked rhetorically Monday during the Grizzlies' media day.And Kleiman is not done yet.The Andre Iguodala situation has to be resolved. He is technically on the Grizzlies' roster, even though both Memphis and Iguodala have agreed he will stay away during training camp. The Grizzlies now are much younger with their future in the hands of Jaren Jackson Jr., the No. 4 pick overall of 2018; Ja Morant, the second overall pick in June; and first-time head coach Taylor Jenkins who led Memphis to the Summer... Mon Apr 29 201917:06Popovich negotiating new deal with San Antonio Spurs
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The Spurs suffered through an odd, erratic season filled with injuries, strife and drama before a second straight ouster from the playoffs in the first round.Gregg Popovich enjoyed it so much he is coming back for a 24th season as coach in San Antonio.Normally extremely private, Popovich said Monday he is negotiating a new deal with the Spurs after his current contract expired this season. There was some uncertainty surrounding his return, but the 70-year-old Popovich put an end to that with a quip or two."I'm currently in negotiations and could very well end up with either the Portofino Flyers or the Positano Pirates (or the Spurs)," Popovich said dryly. "I think it's like one-third Positano, one-third Portofino and one-third San Antonio. So, we'll see where I end up."There is little chance Popovich ends up anywhere but San Antonio, where he has enjoyed unprecedented success. His desire to return was apparent during an 18-minute news conference to wrap up a season that... [More]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Memphis Grizzlies started the offseason Thursday with plenty of questions to answer, then controlling owner Robert Pera added to the to-do list by firing coach J.B. Bickerstaff as part of a front-office shake-up that demoted general manager Chris Wallace to scout. The Grizzlies announced the moves after both Bickerstaff and Wallace spoke to reporters following a second straight season outside the playoffs. After a 12-5 start, Memphis plummeted and finished 33-49, tied with New Orleans and Dallas.Wallace had said earlier that Bickerstaff would be returning after doing a "terrific job." But Pera didn't agree and restructured the front office a few hours later."In order to put our team on the path to sustainable success, it was necessary to change our approach to basketball operations," Pera said in a statement.
