Fri Nov 19 202118:13Joe Harris To Miss Another One On Friday Night
Brooklyn Nets forward Joe Harris (ankle) won't suit up on Friday against Orlando. During Monday's road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, the veteran rolled his left ankle, an injury that forced him to miss the previous two matchups against Golden State and Cleveland. With Kevin Durant (shoulder), Nicolas Claxton (illness), and Paul Millsap (personal) out as well, Bruce Brown, Patty Mills, and LaMarcus Aldridge should all benefit from a fantasy standpoint, although it will likely be the James Harden show against the Magic.

Tue Nov 16 202119:04Joe Harris Will Miss A Few Games
Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Harris (ankle) is expected to miss a few games, according to head coach Steve Nash. He has already been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. There is a good chance that he sits out the rest of the week. Patty Mills should see an increase in playing time. Also, Kevin Durant and James Harden should see a higher usage without Harris on the court. Mills is looking like a decent cheap DFS option for Tuesday's slate.

Mon Nov 15 202117:37Joe Harris Won't Play Against Warriors
Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Harris (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. This isn't too surprising considering it's the front end of a back-to-back set. The Nets are going to be cautious here, so fantasy managers shouldn't be shocked if he misses both games. Patty Mills is likely going to move into the starting five and has plenty of fantasy value after dropping 29 points on Sunday. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for updates on Tuesday.

Sun Nov 14 202120:01Joe Harris Injures Ankle Against OKC
Brooklyn Nets forward Joe Harris (ankle) exited Sunday's matchup against Oklahoma City. Harris rolled his left ankle while going up for a rebound and immediately headed toward the locker room after a subsequent Steve Nash timeout. The 30-year-old is averaging only 11.9 points per game this season but has shot an impressive 46.5 percent from deep, so an extended absence could sting for category managers. Nonetheless, if he does miss time, DeAndre' Bembry and Bruce Brown would be in line for more work.

Sat Nov 13 202110:11Joe Harris Drains Six Triples
Brooklyn Nets forward Joe Harris caught fire from beyond the arc in Friday's 120-112 win over the Pelicans. Harris dropped a season-high 24 points while connecting on 9 of 12 attempts from the field and 6 of 8 from deep. The counting stats weren't excellent, but the veteran forward did chip in two rebounds and a pair of steals in 37 minutes. Harris' overall efficiency has dipped a bit- but he has been as good as ever from three-point land, averaging 3.1 makes per game at a 46.5 percent clip.

Tue Jun 15 202113:35Nets upgrade Harden to questionable for Game 5 vs Bucks
NEW YORK (AP) — First they lost James Harden, then Kyrie Irving, and finally the Brooklyn Nets lost their lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Though the series is tied, the Milwaukee Bucks are way ahead in the health category. Down to Kevin Durant as their lone healthy superstar, the Nets limped home to host Game 5 on Tuesday, a team that once piled up points with ease suddenly struggling to cobble together much offense at all. “This is what it’s all about in the playoffs, is you’re going to have ups and downs. You’re going to have momentum shifts, you’re going to have adversity and it’s about how you respond,” Nets coach Steve Nash said Monday. “So tomorrow is a great opportunity for us to show what we’re made of, respond in a positive way and put on our best performance of the series.” The Nets were bitten by the injury bug all season, with long absences for Durant and Harden in the second half. Their three stars played together only eight times in the regular season and they may... [More]

Sat Jun 12 202116:14Nuggets face daunting deficit; Jokic faces ignominious exit
Four NHL teams have overcome 3-0 deficits in a best-of-seven playoff series, including the 1942 Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs. The Boston Red Sox pulled off MLB's only such comeback against the New York Yankees in 2004. The Denver Nuggets are the 143rd NBA team to go down 3-0 in a best-of-seven playoff series and nobody's ever overcome such a daunting deficit to win four straight. The Nuggets say their only aim is to send the series back to Phoenix with a win in Game 4 Sunday night in Denver. “The last thing I want to see is the Phoenix Suns pushing a broom across our home court,” Nuggets coach Michael Malone said Friday night after Denver's 116-102 loss to the Suns. Malone has said all along the Nuggets could show growth this season after losing a year ago to the Lakers in the Western Conference finals. “We have had a tremendous season, tremendous. I said going into this year you can't judge a season by the end result. ... But the one thing I don't want is for us just to go... [More]

Sun Jun 6 202117:42Harden not back for Game 2, Bucks hope their shooting is
NEW YORK (AP) — James Harden won't be back for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Milwaukee Bucks believe their shooting touch will. So the Bucks have plenty of reasons for optimism heading into the game Monday night. Yet there's also still plenty of cause for concern. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are still out there for the Brooklyn Nets, who spent all season working around injuries and proved another point about themselves after shaking off Harden's loss 43 seconds into Game 1. “That we have the capability of rising to the occasion,” Irving said. “We’re a very mature basketball club because we play selfless and we trust each other, so in any situation in a game I feel like we have the talent, we have the preparation, we have the coaching staff to be able to go out and execute.” They did that on both sides of the floor in their 115-107 victory in Game 1. Durant scored 29 points, Irving had 25 and the Nets held the Bucks to 6-for-30 shooting from 3-point range. The Phoenix... [More]
Tue Mar 9 202112:05Offense winning in NBA, Nets want to prove it in playoffs
NEW YORK (AP) — Defense wins championships is one of the oldest clichés in sports. It’s mostly been true, too. Now, even coaches who preached defense before look around an NBA where the pace is quicker, the shots come from deeper, and can come to only one conclusion. “It seems like offense wins,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. That’s what the Brooklyn Nets are looking to prove with an NBA title. Perhaps no team has ever packed so much offensive punch. Kevin Durant is a four-time NBA scoring champion. James Harden has won three. They’ve both been league MVPs. Kyrie Irving is a perennial All-Star who hit the winning shot to cap the biggest NBA Finals comeback ever. “You look at Kyrie, Durant, Harden. (Spencer) Dinwiddie’s out, he’s a terrific player. He’s an All-Star-caliber talent,” Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. “So, they’re up there with the best of them.” Stopping one is possible. Stopping two is doable. Stopping all three the four times it would require to beat Brooklyn in a series... [More]

Fri Feb 5 202123:43Durant can't start, can't finish game for virus protocols
NEW YORK (AP) — Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant couldn't start a game and then couldn't finish it, removed in the third quarter because of the NBA's health and safety protocols. Durant wasn't available at the beginning of Friday night's game against Toronto, eventually being cleared to enter in the first quarter. Once he did, it became his first appearance as a reserve in his 867 NBA games. The strange situation — Durant had originally been listed in the starting lineup before being removed — had the Nets dealing with a number of emotions. “Confusing, frustrating. I mean, it's bizarre,” teammate Joe Harris said. James Harden wondered why the game wasn't postponed, since Durant had been around the players beforehand. “They just said contract tracing and I’m thinking to myself, ‘Well, if it’s contact tracing, then we’re all in the locker room together. That means there’s no game if he’s not going to be able to play,’” Harden said. The questions continued well after Toronto's 123-117 victory.... [More]

Mon Dec 28 202019:12Nets rest Durant, Irving vs Grizzlies in second of 2 games
NEW YORK (AP) — The Brooklyn Nets are resting Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving against Memphis on the second night of their first back-to-back of the season. The Nets announced that Durant would be out early Monday. Irving wasn't added to the injury report until a few hours later. Both players are coming off lengthy injury absences. Durant missed the entire 2019-20 season while rehabbing from right Achilles tendon surgery, while Irving was limited to 20 games because of a right shoulder injury. Coach Steve Nash said the decision to rest Durant was made Sunday night after the Nets lost in Charlotte, their first defeat after two victories to open the season. He played a season-high 36 minutes. Their absence leaves the Nets without three starters after guard Spencer Dinwiddie partially tore the ACL in his right knee in the third quarter of the game in Charlotte. The Nets planned to start Caris LeVert, Taurean Prince and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot along with remaining starters Joe Harris and DeAndre Jordan. ___ More AP NBA: https://apnews.com/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
Fri Nov 20 202022:51Nets to re-sign Joe Harris, meeting top offseason priority
NEW YORK (AP) — Joe Harris has agreed to re-sign with the Nets, keeping one of the NBA’s best shooters in Brooklyn. The Nets checked off what general manager Sean Marks called their biggest priority in free agency on Friday night by agreeing to a deal with the swingman. Priority Sports, which represents Harris, announced the deal on Twitter. ESPN reported that Harris would get $75 million over four years. Harris finished his fourth season in Brooklyn by averaging a career-best 14.5 points in 69 games in 2019-20. Earlier Friday, Marks reiterated the importance of keeping Harris on a team with championship aspirations with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving set to return from injuries next month. “Joe’s an intricate piece to the program here. Not only what he does and what everybody sees on the court, but it’s off the court as well,” Marks said. “Joe’s been through it with us. Been through the bubble, he’s seen this program develop. He’s developed alongside this program so it would certainly be... [More]
