New York Knicks guard Josh Hart (ankle) was able to get through a limited practice session on Monday. The 28-year-old suffered a left ankle sprain during the fourth quarter of their Game 1 matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Wed Feb 8 202322:13Josh Hart Heading To New York
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Knicks have acquired guard Josh Hart from Portland in exchange for Cam Reddish and a protected future first-round draft pick. Hart has averaged 9.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.1 steals in 51 games this season. However, the 27-year-old may have a more prominent role in the rotation in New York, so his scoring output may improve. But even if it doesn't, he should remain a reliable rebounder and defensive option for category managers.

Sun Jan 29 202322:08Josh Hart's Status Still To Be Determined For Monday
Portland Trail Blazers forward Josh Hart (hamstring) missed the team's last game on Saturday and his status is now up in the air for Monday against the Atlanta Hawks. He's currently dealing with right hamstring tightness and head coach Chauncey Billups said he "did some stuff," but his status is still to be determined. If Hart remains on the sidelines, Trendon Watford would likely step into that role and could be a decent streaming option in deeper leagues.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Josh Hart (ankle) is available for Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets. Hart is dealing with a left ankle sprain, but feels good enough to play in this game. He should see increased chances with the ball because Jerami Grant (back) is sitting this game out. Hart is expected to be in the starting five and should be a strong streaming option for Saturday's game. Hart is rostered in most fantasy formats already, but fantasy managers should snag him if he is available.

Fri Dec 16 202220:14Josh Hart Good To Go Friday
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Josh Hart (ankle) will be in the lineup Friday against Dallas. He is dealing with a left ankle sprain and the team continues to list Hart on the injury report, but he's had no issues playing through the ailment and it won't keep him off the court Friday either. Hart is a guy who does a bit of everything for the team, and he has even led the squad in rebounding twice across the last five games. For the whole season, Hart has been averaging a career-high 8.3 rebounds with 9.5 points, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals.

Wed Dec 14 202219:06Josh Hart Is Available On Wednesday Night
Portland Trail Blazers forward Josh Hart will end up playing on Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs. Hart was previously listed as probable so this doesn't come as too much of a surprise. The 27-year-old has appeared on the injury report numerous times with smaller ailments and it looks like that's going to be more of the same. He's only missed two games so far this season. In deeper leagues, he's a good play on any given night.

Fri Dec 2 202220:54Josh Hart Listed As Doubtful For Saturday
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Josh Hart (ankle) is in danger of missing a second consecutive game, with the team listing him as doubtful for Saturday's clash with the Jazz. He sprained his left ankle in a game against the Clippers earlier in the week and you really never know when these types of injuries clear up. Portland has another game on Sunday versus Indiana, so it could be a smart move for the team to keep Hart out of another game. His absence allowed Trendon Watford to make his first start of the season Wednesday versus the Lakers. The 22-year-old did well by logging a double-double in 31 minutes with 10 points and 10 rebounds. He has averaged 14.8 points per game with 6.6 rebounds as a starter across his whole young career. These are some solid numbers, but Watford has been having a very quiet sophomore season and he's not a consistent performer, so fantasy managers definitely shouldn't rush to grab him.

Wed Nov 30 202221:22Josh Hart Downgraded To Out
Portland Trail Blazers forward Josh Hart (ankle) has been downgraded to out for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The 27-year-old was questionable coming into this game due to an ankle issue that he re-aggravated on Tuesday night. The Blazers will take the cautious approach and give Hart the night off. Trendon Watford will move into the starting five for Wednesday's game. The Blazers are going with a big lineup for this game. Last season, Watford averaged 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists in 10 starts with Portland. However, this is a different team, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect the same result. Fantasy managers should consider Watford a deep league streaming option for Wednesday.

Wed Nov 30 202220:54Josh Hart Tagged As Questionable For Wednesday
Portland Trail Blazers forward Josh Hart (ankle) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. He continues to deal with a left ankle injury that he likely re-aggravated during Tuesday's contest. Shaedon Sharpe is looking like a strong streaming option with Nassir Little (hip) already ruled out for this game. Sharpe could play a big role in this game, so fantasy managers should keep an eye on him for Wednesday's slate.

Tue Nov 22 202223:30Josh Hart Probable On Wednesday
Portland Trail Blazers forward Josh Hart (ankle) is expected to suit up for Wednesday's meeting with Cleveland. The 27-year-old has a sprained left ankle. However, it's not expected to keep him out for this one. Hart has averaged 9.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals this season. Yet, with Damian Lillard (calf) sidelined, Hart should benefit by getting more chances on the offensive end.

Wed Nov 2 202220:28Josh Hart Clears Concussion Protocol
Portland Trail Blazers guard Josh Hart (concussion) will be available for Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The 27-year-old hit his head during Friday's game and was placed in concussion protocol. He has now cleared the league's protocol and is available for this game. Hart has played at least 30 minutes per game in every contest this season. There is no word on Hart being limited, so he's expected to have his normal workload on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly with Hart returning.

Sun Oct 30 202200:09Josh Hart Enters Concussion Protocol
Portland Trail Blazers forward Josh Hart (head) entered concussion protocol on Saturday. The 27-year-old hit his head during Friday's win over Houston but will now go through the return-to-participation process before he's cleared. Hart has played well in his six games this season, averaging 10.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.3 steals. The Blazers' next game will take place on Wednesday against Memphis, so there's a chance he could be good to go by then. However, if Hart isn't available, Justise Winslow and Nassir Little could see some more work.

Sun Oct 23 202219:18Josh Hart Pulls Down 16 Rebounds In Win
Portland Trail Blazers forward Josh Hart was a monster on the glass in Sunday's win against the Los Angeles Lakers, finishing with 16 rebounds in 36 minutes. Hart has proven he does not need to score much to provide solid fantasy value as he also contributed nine points, five assists and two steals. Hart's been an excellent rebounder for his size, evident by his 10.0 rebounds per game to start the 2022 campaign. Hart is getting plenty of opportunity this year with the new-look Trail Blazers and should continue to be a rebounding and steals anchor for fantasy managers everywhere. Hart and the Blazers have a quick turnaround as they play the Denver Nuggets Monday night who give up the 7th-fewest rebounds per game to opposing forwards so far this season.

Sun Oct 9 202221:23Josh Hart Earns Starting Small Forward Spot
Portland Trail Blazers forward Josh Hart will be the starting small forward to begin the season, according to head coach Chauncey Billups. It sounds like the organization has been impressed with Hart throughout the preseason. They believe Hart offers something they don't have in the starting five. Nassir Little and Justise Winslow are expected to back up Hart off the bench. Both players should have decent roles, but Hart is the only fantasy relevant player here. He should be able to carve out some late-round value considering he'll be in the starting five to begin the season.

Sat Jun 25 202218:57Josh Hart Returning To Portland
Portland Trail Blazers forward Josh Hart will be returning for at least one more season. This wasn't a hard call for the organization with Hart only owed $12.9 million for the 2022-2023 campaign. Hart also has a mutual option for the following season, which means he could be in Portland for the next two years. The expectation is that Hart is going to play significant minutes on the rebuilding Blazers roster. He should be able to carry reliable fantasy value, assuming he can actually stay healthy.
