Wed Jan 9 201300:02Darius Morris scores 12 in start at SG
Darius Morris started at shooting guard for the Lakers on Tuesday and had 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers on 5-of-7 shooting in just 17 minutes.
Starting or not, he's going to need a lot more than 17 minutes to offer fantasy value, and it's not likely he'll be worth owning, regardless of how banged up the Lakers become.

Tue Jan 8 201313:14Morris or Jamison to start on Tuesday
Updating a previous item, Darius Morris or Antawn Jamison could start on Tuesday.
Regardless of who starts, both players will be tasked to play more minutes than usual with all of the injuries to the Lakers stars. Jamison has far more fantasy upside than Morris, but Mike D'Antoni has banished the veteran to the bench recently. He has no choice but to play him now.

Tue Jan 8 201311:48Darius Morris back in starting lineup
The Lakers game notes indicate Darius Morris will start at shooting guard on Tuesday.
Steve Nash will join him in the backcourt, with Kobe Bryant moving to small forward, Metta World Peace at power forward and Robert Sacre as the starting center. Kobe will be tasked to do the heavy lifting on offense, but that's not a new role for him.

Tue Dec 25 201213:50Darius Morris to start at shooting guard
Darius Morris will start at shooting guard for the Lakers again on Tuesday against the Knicks.
He'll spend time with Metta World Peace guarding Carmelo Anthony, and that plan of the Lakers starting Jodie Meeks at shooting guard and Kobe Bryant at small forward still hasn't happened. Morris has no fantasy value, while Meeks is worth a look, even when coming off the bench.

Sun Dec 23 201201:48Darius Morris starts, plays under 10 minutes
Darius Morris started at shooting guard for the Lakers on Saturday, but he finished with just six points and zero rebounds or assists in nine minutes.
Mike D'Antoni was eager to have Morris defending Stephen Curry, freeing Steve Nash of that burden, but the arrangement is subject to change. Either way, Nash's return has erased his minimal value.

Darius Morris scored a career-high 15 points on Sunday, making 5-of-8 FGs with three 3-pointers in 18 minutes vs. the Sixers.
Morris also suffered a mild right ankle sprain during the game -- he was able to play through the ailment, but sprains can worsen overnight so we'll include him on the injury list as a precaution. L.A.'s next game is Tuesday vs. the Bobcats.

Sat Nov 24 201200:12Darius Morris scores nine, hits one 3
Darius Morris had nine points, two rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes on Friday.
He has been efficient in the scoring department by shooting 4-of-6 tonight and 3-of-5 on Wednesday. He still doesn't have enough value with Steve Nash's return on the horizon.

Wed Nov 21 201201:37Darius Morris plays 23 minutes, scores three
Darius Morris started again on Tuesday and had just three points, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes against the Nets.
Morris was coming off a nice 12-point, five-dime game on Sunday and it would appear that game is more of an outlier. Steve Blake should be back soon and Morris can be left on the wire in all but the deepest of leagues.

Tue Nov 20 201208:27Darius Morris feeling more comfortable at PG
Darius Morris is feeling more comfortable as a point guard with extended playing time.
Injuries to Steve Nash (leg) and Steve Blake (abdomen) have opened the door for Morris to earn valuable minutes. "I just needed to get some reps," he said. "Being a pick-and-roll guy all my life, it kind of fits my game well," he added. Morris already has 23 assists this season after having just 21 total during his rookie year.

With Bernie Bickerstaff once again coaching the Lakers, starting PG Darius Morris scored 12 points with two 3-pointers, five assists and two steals in 31 minutes.
Mike D'Antoni is still recovering from knee surgery, but said that he could make his Lakers' debut on Tuesday or Wednesday. Morris has acquitted himself well this week, but Steve Blake (abdomen) and Steve Nash (leg) will soon spoil any value he might have.

Sat Nov 17 201205:46Morris goes for five and six vs. the Suns
Darius Morris started at point guard for injured Steve Blake (abdomen) on Friday against the Suns, and scored five points on 2-of-5 shooting with one rebound, six assists, and one steal in 31 minutes.
Morris did well to be this productive with limited touches, and it's nights like these that will earn him more touches going forward. Unfortunately, he has practically no chance to enhance his role before either Blake or Steve Nash (leg) returns.

Fri Nov 16 201221:21Darius Morris gets another start on Friday
Darius Morris will start at point guard for the Lakers on Friday against the Suns.
Morris missed all five of his field goals in his start on Wednesday and only added one assist. Steve Blake (abdomen) doesn't expect to be out much longer and owners in daily league shouldn't consider Morris as an option.

Mon Nov 12 201220:42Darius Morris will get the start on Tuesday
Darius Morris will start at point guard for the Lakers on Tuesday against the Spurs.
The 41st pick in the draft will get his first career start as the Lakers are unbelievably thin at point guard. He has 1.0 3-pointers and 0.4 steals per game in just 17.4 minutes, so owners in daily leagues could do worse.

Sat Nov 10 201206:10Morris posts solid line in blowout win
Darius Morris posted 10 points, five rebounds, five assists, a steal, and two 3-point shots in the Lakers' blowout win over the Warriors on Friday.
Morris hit 3-of-7 shots in the win. We liked him coming out of college as a second round pick, but like many rookies in L.A. he just hasn't been utilized nor has he deserved to be. But tonight showed a glimpse of what we saw, and for that he deserves recognition before eventually returning to his third-string role.

Tue Oct 30 201211:32Darius Morris not expected to see minutes
Darius Morris is not expected to be a part of the Lakers rotation this season.
Morris is buried on the PG depth chart and shot just 30 percent from the floor during the preseason, so we can't say we're surprised by this.

Sat Oct 13 201209:47Lakers backup PG job still up for grabs
The Lakers' backup PG position remains up for grabs between Darius Morris, Steve Blake and Chris Duhon.
"[Saturday] I'm thinking about giving Darius an opportunity and giving Duhon an opportunity another day and then maybe going back to Blake," said Mike Brown. "Nobody has really locked up that backup point guard spot yet." Blake seems like the most likely victor in this position battle, but even that might not stick -- the Lakers are concomitantly dangling him and Duhon in trade talks.

Mon Sep 24 201208:35Darius Morris improves strength, jump shot
Darius Morris has improved his jump shot and his physique in the offseason.
Morris has good size for the PG position, but he still has a long ways to go to hone his skills as a distributor. He's not going to get playing time over Steve Blake as Steve Nash's backup, rendering him useless to fantasy owners.
