Mon Feb 24 201400:36MarShon Brooks cools off on Sunday
MarShon Brooks cooled off on Sunday night with seven points, three boards, two assists, one steal and one 3-poitner in 19 minutes.
He lit it up for 14 points in 23 minutes on Friday and there was really no way he was going to be able to duplicate that line. Kent Bazemore looks like the better add in all formats while Brooks is a tough waiver-wire target in almost any league.

Sat Feb 22 201410:03MarShon Brooks drops 14 points
MarShon Brooks scored 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting with two boards, three steals and two turnovers in 23 minutes against his former team on Friday.
The up-tempo style of MarShon Brooks certainly fit into coach Mike D'Antoni's system and Brooks put up a season high for points. "D'Antoni gave me the confidence to go out and play my game," Brooks said after the game. While this was a fun night to watch and an exciting comeback win, Brooks had a lot of ups and downs even when he gets minutes and shooting just 37.8 percent from the field before tonight won't help. If you're looking to add him, it should be for dead weight in a deep league.

Fri Feb 21 201414:05MarShon Brooks, Bazemore available Friday
Newly acquired Lakers MarShon Brooks and Kent Bazemore will be available for Friday's game against the Celtics.
With Nick Young and Steve Nash out, Brooks and Bazemore might actually get on the court. However, we wouldn't expect big minutes. Jodie Meeks and Wes Johnson are near locks for 30-plus minutes Friday night.

Wed Feb 19 201421:45Brooks going to the Lakers on Wednesday
MarShon Brooks was traded to the Lakers on Wednesday.
He was just acquired by the Warriors last month and played a total of 15 minutes with his new team. Brooks had a solid season during his rookie campaign, but his wild shot selection and sub-par defense cost him a chance to be in the rotation on his last two teams. Coach Mike D'Antoni could give him minutes, but Brooks has his work cut out for him.

Wed Jan 15 201412:09MarShon Brooks traded to Golden State
MarShon Brooks was traded from the Celtics to the Warriors on Wednesday.
Jordan Crawford was also traded and Draymond Green is staying put in Golden State, making it even harder to imagine Brooks surfacing with a meaningful role on a playoff contender. He appeared in just 10 games for Boston this season and has spent much of his time in the D-League.

Thu Jan 9 201417:16Celtics re-call MarShon Brooks from D-League
The Celtics called up MarShon Brooks from the D-League on Thursday.
He tore up the D-League in five games, averaging 27.4 points, but he's not guaranteed playing time off the Celtics' bench.

Tue Jan 7 201414:37Celtics to re-call MarShon Brooks from NBADL
The Celtics will re-call MarShon Brooks from the D-League after two more games, according to coach Brad Stevens.
In three appearances with the Maine Red Claws, Brooks is averaging 29 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and nearly two blocks per game. The Celtics just swapped out Courtney Lee for Jerryd Bayless in their backcourt, however, and there's no reason to expect Brooks to earn a fantasy-relevant role once he's called up.

Wed Jan 1 201413:14Celtics assign MarShon Brooks to D-League
The Celtics have assigned MarShon Brooks to their D-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.
It's been a quiet year for Brooks, who hasn't emerged as a reliable part of Brad Stevens' rotation and is averaging a mere 6.8 minutes in nine appearances. Hopefully some extended run with the Red Claws will build up his confidence and keep him in prime shape for a call-up later in the season.

Mon Nov 4 201310:03MarShon Brooks scoreless in season debut
MarShon Brooks made his season debut on Sunday, going scoreless in seven minutes of action.
The Celtics already declined Brooks' option for the 2014-15 season and they don't seem convinced that he'll be a long-term fit with the team. His sequence of DNPs to start the year should have been enough to scare away fantasy owners, and we'll let you know if he starts carving out a bigger role.

Tue Oct 29 201314:54Celtics to decline MarShon Brooks' option
The Celtics will not pick up MarShon Brooks' fourth-year option, according to Danny Ainge.
The 2011 first-round pick would have earned $2.2 million, but instead he'll wade into unrestricted free agency. The Celtics' rotations remain a bit of a mystery under new coach Brad Stevens, but Brooks' role will be limited by the presence of Jeff Green, Courtney Lee, Avery Bradley and Jordan Crawford.

Wed Oct 16 201322:06MarShon Brooks scores 17 in exhibition
MarShon Brooks played 20 minutes and hit 6-of-10 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points, three rebounds and two assists off the Celtics bench Wednesday.
We have seen Brooks have explosions like this before in New Jersey, but he's never been able to stay healthy, or out of his coach's doghouse long enough to put it all together. We doubt it's going to happen this year, either, but given the rebuilding Celtics and all their holes, he's definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Wed Oct 9 201323:09MarShon Brooks scores eight for Celtics
MarShon Brooks played through a migraine and hit 3-of-6 shots for eight points, one rebound, three assists and two blocks in 19 minutes off the Celtics bench on Wednesday.
There's a log jam at shooting guard in Boston and we don't expect Brooks to be worth drafting in fantasy this season.

Wed Oct 9 201316:19MarShon Brooks iffy Wednesday w/ illness
MarShon Brooks missed Wednesday's shootaround and is questionable for the preseason game against the Knicks.
Brooks isn't expected to have a huge role in Boston, but given how depleted the roster is, anything is possible.

Fri Aug 23 201315:39MarShon Brooks focused on dribble drive
MarShon Brooks's offseason workouts have focused on adding strength to help him finish at the rim.
Brooks' has the natural ability to be a special scorer (he averaged 24.6 ppg during his final season at Providence). But he earned the label of a poor defender and one-dimensional offensive player at the NBA level, leading to just 12.5 minutes per game for the Nets last year. Brooks will be battling with Courtney Lee, Jordan Crawford and Avery Bradley for minutes at the Celtics' two-guard spot once Rajon Rondo (ACL) returns.

Tue Jul 16 201309:22MarShon Brooks disappointed by downfall w/ BK
MarShon Brooks said it was tough to be traded from the Nets on Monday.
"It was tough," Brooks said. "The reason why it was tough was because I never really felt that I got beat out of my situation. I never really feel like I got beat." After a nice rookie season, the arrival of Joe Johnson limited Brooks to just 12.5 minutes per game. The good news for him is that his competition should be less stiff with the Celtics and he should be able to eclipse his minute-per-game allotment from last season.

Fri Jun 28 201310:14MarShon Brooks sent to Celtics in KG deal
As part of the Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce trade, MarShon Brooks has been traded to the Celtics.
Brooks wasn't originally in the deal, but he is now. Reggie Evans and Tornike Shengelia are not in the deal, and they will remain in Brooklyn. Brooks offers some intrigue and returns to the Celtics after the team initially drafted him, and it's obvious Boston is looking to rebuild from the bottom up.

Tue Jun 25 201308:21MarShon Brooks to Timberwolves not cooking
Updating a previous item, there is no trade close between the Timberwolves and Nets for MarShon Brooks.
The Nets are "calling everyone" about Brooks, an indication of how low his trade value is around the league. Brooklyn shopped him with Kris Humphries prior to the trade deadline and got no takers, and it appears they'll try again in the offseason to move Brooks. Any interested team won't have to pay very much.

Mon Jun 24 201317:29Report: Nets, Wolves talk MarShon Brooks deal
The Nets have reportedly discussed a trade that would send MarShon Brooks to the Timberwolves.
One source said that the talks haven't yet become "serious," but a second source said the Nets have made an offer which the Wolves need only accept. Presumably the Nets would try to acquire a PG to support Deron Williams, since current backup C.J. Watson is expected to opt for free agency. Brooklyn has also been linked to Andrei Kirilenko in the past, and it's conceivable that the deal could expand to include more players, but for now we're still merely collecting rumors.

Sun Apr 28 201313:27Brooks takes over Bogans' spot in rotation
MarShon Brooks has supplanted Keith Bogans in the rotation.
Brooks can do more on offense than Bogans, and that's the reason for the change. Neither player deserves to be owned in playoff fantasy formats.

Wed Apr 17 201310:35Brooks doesn't think coaches trust him
MarShon Brooks is trying to earn the trust of the coaching staff.
"I don't think they [trust me] because I haven't really played against any good teams," Brooks said. When asked if he'd be in the playoff rotation, Brooks said, "I have no clue." Brooks isn't expected to play a major role in the postseason.
