Tue Dec 6 202208:12Tyus Jones Shines Versus Miami
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Tyus Jones notched a career-high 28 points and had 10 assists in Monday's 101-93 victory over the Heat. He made his fourth start of the campaign, with Ja Morant (ankle) sitting out, and Jones relished the occasion right off the bat, recording nine points and three assists in the first quarter alone. He finished the night with 10-for-16 shooting, which included a 3-for-6 record from three-point land, and Jones also added two steals to his line with one turnover in 36 minutes. The 26-year-old is now averaging 20.3 points and 7.8 assists as a starter this season. These numbers make picking up Jones a must for fantasy managers each time Morant sits.

Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones will start on Saturday night against Utah. Ja Morant (illness) is out, so Jones will be tasked with handling the point guard duties. He's played well as a starter during his career, averaging 10.8 points, 6.6 assists, and 2.8 rebounds, making him a must-start in all formats.

Fri Jun 24 202217:23Wizards Showing Interest In Tyus Jones
Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones could be changing teams this offseason. The Washington Wizards reportedly have interest in signing Jones this summer. He has proven to be a capable point guard, so there should be plenty of interest for Jones in free agency. In 23 games without Ja Morant last season, Jones averaged 12.7 points and 6.6 assists per game. It wouldn't be shocking to see the Grizzlies attempt to bring back Jones. Although, the Wizards could be a fit without much talent at guard outside of Bradley Beal. They did draft Johnny Davis, but still have Jones on their radar. A move to Washington could be good for Jones. He likely won't see as much playing time in Memphis, assuming Morant is healthy next season.

Tue May 10 202209:53Tyus Jones Scores 19 Points In Spot Start
Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones received the start in Monday's Game 4 contest with Ja Morant (knee) sidelined. Jones did what he could, but it's tough for the Grizzlies to do a lot without their superstar guard. He went 8-for-18 from the floor with 19 points, six rebounds, and five assists in the loss to Golden State. Fantasy managers should consider Jones a solid DFS option for Wednesday's Game 5, assuming he starts.

Thu Mar 31 202218:31Tyus Jones, Desmond Bane Doubtful For Friday
Memphis Grizzlies guards Tyus Jones (hand) and Desmond Bane (ankle) are both listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Phoenix Suns. These designations come as a surprise as both players appeared healthy after Wednesday's game. Jones, who is dealing with left hand soreness, was fantastic on Wednesday. He racked up 25 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals in the game while hitting five three-pointers. Meanwhile, Bane, who is hampered by left ankle soreness, scored 16 points over 33 minutes in the contest. Get ready to see a big game from De'Anthony Melton on Friday. He's a must-start player if Jones and Bane indeed wind up sitting. Dillon Brooks should see increased usage as well and Ziaire Williams should see his minutes increase substantially.

Wed Mar 30 202223:02Tyus Jones Drops 25 Points On Wednesday
Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones put together one of his best games of the season versus the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. Jones finished with 25 points, five rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 36 minutes of play. This was his first 25-point outing since February 15. The veteran guard has been asked to take on a bigger role with Ja Morant (knee) sidelined. Normally, Jones doesn't have huge scoring games, but has been consistent lately. He is certainly worth adding in most fantasy formats while Morant is out.

Sun Mar 20 202215:20Tyus Jones To Start On Sunday
Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones will move into the starting five for Sunday's game against the Houston Rockets. Ja Morant (knee) is sidelined and expected to meet with the medical staff within the next few days. It's uncertain if Morant will be able to play in Wednesday's contest. Jones is averaging 11.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.5 assists as a starter this season. He'll join Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Steven Adams in the starting five for Sunday's game. Jones should be a reliable streaming option while Morant is out.

Wed Jan 19 202218:55Tyus Jones Lands In League’s COVID-19 Protocols
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Tyus Jones has been placed in the league's health and safety protocols, ruling him out indefinitely, beginning with Wednesday's game vs. Milwaukee. The absence will mark just the second of the season for Jones, who has been an invaluable member of the team's second unit (8.2 points, 4.2 assists per game), in addition to stepping into the starting five when Ja Morant went down. De'Anthony Melton -- who was already set to see a larger role with Desmond Bane and Kyle Anderson in the protocols -- is set to back up Morant and take on more offensive duties within the second unit. While Jones has shot a career-best 47.1 percent overall this season, he can remain on the waiver wire in all season-long formats at least until he returns to action.

Mon Dec 20 202119:57Tyus Jones Out On Monday
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Tyus Jones (finger) won't play on Monday against Oklahoma City. He was set for a lesser role anyway, with Ja Morant (knee) coming back, and Jones' absence shouldn't affect the team much. The 25-year-old had a decent spell as a starter, but Morant's return gives his fantasy stock a big hit and Jones is now droppable in every league. However, fantasy managers should keep him in mind if Morant picks up another injury.

Mon Dec 20 202114:48Tyus Jones Picks Up Questionable Tag For Monday
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Tyus Jones (finger) has been listed as questionable to play in Monday's game against the Thunder due to a sprained finger on his right hand. Jones has appeared in every contest thus far in 2021-22, although he has held down starting PG duties since Nov. 28; in that stretch, he has averaged 10.3 points and 6.1 assists on a nightly basis. His fantasy viability is nearing an inflection point, as Ja Morant (knee) has been bumped up to questionable to play as soon as Monday in his own right; with Morant healthy, Jones loses nearly all of his season-long intrigue. DFS managers will want to check back prior to tip-off to see how the Grizzlies' backcourt math will shake out.

Fri Dec 3 202108:46Tyus Jones Does A Lot In Just 21 Minutes
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Tyus Jones had a productive night against OKC on Thursday, finishing a huge 152-79 blowout win with 10 points, six rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 21 minutes. He had just one turnover while shooting 4-for-7 from the field and 1-for-2 from downtown. Jones has taken over from Ja Morant (knee) as the starting point guard. His numbers have been underwhelming so far, but the 25-year-old has gotten a great opportunity and he'll surely take a lot of confidence from his Thursday's efforts. Jones will roll out next against the Mavericks, who give up the sixth-most assists per 48 minutes to point guards this season.

Mon Feb 22 202123:42Mavs return from weather break, cruise past Grizzlies 102-92
DALLAS (AP) — Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 20 of his 29 points while Dallas built a big first-half lead without much help from Luka Doncic, and the Mavericks returned from a weather-induced break with a 102-92 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night. Dallas was playing for the first time in eight days after two postponements because of a wintry weather blast in Texas. Kristaps Porzingis didn't play after showing up on the injury report the day of the game with back stiffness. “I guess those eight days really helped,” Hardaway said after going 7 of 11 from 3-point range. “We didn’t know when we were going to play leading up to this point. Everybody just made sure they stayed locked in, made sure they took care of their bodies.” Doncic scored 14 of his 21 points after halftime in his first game since the soon-to-be 22-year-old became the first Dallas player to be voted an All-Star starter in consecutive seasons. Sun Aug 16 202013:03No playoffs a painful lesson for Ja Morant, young Grizzlies
Ja Morant will have a painful memory from his rookie season to help remind him — and the rest of the NBA — just how far ahead of schedule the Memphis Grizzlies' rebuilding project is.“How close I was to the playoffs,” Morant said Saturday after the Grizzlies' playoff hopes ended in a 126-122 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference's play-in game.“Obviously, now I feel like I kind of know what it takes to make it. We're some games away. I learned a lot through the amount of games I played this whole season. I say people try to put a lot of pressure on me, but I'm a rookie. Just turned 21 a couple days ago. At this point, I'm still learning.”The likely NBA rookie of the year capped off his season by scoring a career-best 35 points despite playing with a broken thumb the final four games of the NBA's restart in Florida.
