OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Andrew Bogut is rejoining the Golden State Warriors after being cleared by his Australian team, the Sydney Kings.The Warriors made the announcement Wednesday. Golden State had an open roster spot and chose to use it at center. The Warriors lost Damian Jones in December, and he underwent surgery for a torn left pectoral muscle.Bogut, the 2005 No. 1 overall draft pick out of Utah, appeared in 23 games for the Lakers last season and made five starts. He averaged 1.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in 9.4 minutes.He played on the Warriors' 2015 champion team and the 73-win team the following season that lost in Game 7 of the NBA Finals to LeBron James and the Cavaliers. (AP) — Warriors center Damian Jones underwent surgery for a torn left pectoral muscle.Golden State said Friday that Jones had the procedure Wednesday in Chicago, performed by Dr. Benjamin Domb. Jones is expected to begin the rehab process in six weeks with a timetable to be determined based on his progress.Jones, a third-year pro out of Vanderbilt who developed in the G League last season to emerge as the starter for the two-time defending NBA champions, was injured Saturday at Detroit.The 23-year-old Jones started in 22 of his 24 games, averaging 5.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 17.1 minutes. But he likely will be sidelined for a significant amount of time.Jones got hurt with 5.7 seconds remaining in the third quarter of a loss Saturday at Detroit.He is averaging 5.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.The Warriors already are thin at center with DeMarcus Cousins still working his way back from a torn left Achilles tendon. (AP) — New Golden State starting center Damian Jones had his fourth-year contract option for the 2019-20 season exercised by the Warriors.The two-time defending champions announced the move Tuesday.Jones is averaging 6.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 77.8 percent in eight starts so far, playing 16.9 minutes per game.The 7-foot Jones was the Warriors' 30th overall pick out of Vanderbilt in the 2016 draft. Michigan State football player Jermaine Edmondson claimed in the police report that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green used an open-hand slap to his face during a confrontation at an East Lansing (Mich.) restaurant.The exchange led to Green being arrested on assault charges at Conrad's Grill. The 26-year-old, whose blood alcohol content was .10, is scheduled for arraignment on July 20, according to a court document.The maximum penalty Green could face if found guilty of the assault charge is a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.Edmondson, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on Sunday, told police that he crossed paths with Green two nights earlier at another establishment.Green, a member of Team USA for the Rio Olympics this summer, played four seasons for Michigan State under coach Tom Izzo. The Golden State Warriors re-signed free agent forward James Michael McAdoo and signed center Damian Jones to a rookie contract Wednesday.McAdoo, 23, appeared in 41 regular-season games (one start) with the Warriors last season, averaging 2.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in 6.4 minutes per contest. He played in eight postseason games in limited play.The 6-foot-9 McAdoo, a two-year NBA veteran, owns career averages of 3.2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 7.1 minutes in 56 regular-season games with the Warriors. As a rookie in 2014-15, the University of North Carolina product was a member of Golden State's first championship season in 40 years.Jones, 21, was selected by the Warriors with the 30th overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft on June 23.In three seasons at Vanderbilt University, the 6-10 Jones averaged 13.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.69 blocks and 27.2 minutes in 99 games, garnering First Team All-SEC honors as both a sophomore and junior.Jones hit 56.6 percent from the field during his collegiate career, the third-best mark in Vanderbilt history, while finishing second on the school's all-time blocks list (167).
