Fri Jul 1 202220:26Malik Beasley On The Move To Utah
The Timberwolves are moving guard Malik Beasley to Utah as a part of a package to get Rudy Gobert, a multi-time Defensive Player of the Year. With the acquisition of Beasley, the Jazz will receive a player with plenty of untapped potential. He's averaged 12.1 points and 2.5 boards while shooting 38.6% from deep throughout his career. Although the 25-year-old probably won't offer much outside of scoring for category managers in 2022-23, his totals could improve, primarily if he carves out a more prominent role with his new squad. As a result, Beasley is certainly worth late-round consideration in all fantasy formats.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley (ankle) is listed as probable for Thursday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. Tue Apr 5 202219:59Malik Beasley Active And Starting On Tuesday
Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Malik Beasley (ankle) will be part of the starting unit for Tuesday night's game against the Washington Wizards. Beasley has been dealing with a left ankle sprain. The injury sidelined him for a handful of games in late March, but he's been able to play through the injury in two straight games. Beasley hit a total of seven three-pointers over his last two games and he also compiled four steals over the two-game stretch. Three-pointers are his bread and butter but he can occasionally deliver a few other helpful stats for fantasy purposes as well.

Tue Apr 5 202215:15Malik Beasley Hopeful To Play On Tuesday
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley (ankle) is listed as probable for Tuesday's game against the Washington Wizards. He has been nursing an ankle injury and has missed two games because of it. The fact he is listed as probable means it's likely not bothering him as much anymore. Patrick Beverley (ankle) is listed as questionable, so Beasley could be asked to step up on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should check back before game time for another update.

Wed Dec 29 202110:16Malik Beasley Scores 20 Points Against Knicks
Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Malik Beasley led all scorers with 20 points in Tuesday's 96-88 loss to the Knicks, shooting 8-for-23 from the field and 4-for-16 from three-point range. He notched four rebounds and had one assist and one steal with zero turnovers in 40 minutes. Beasley put in a good shift but his shooting numbers were very disappointing here. He is currently the best scorer on the team, with Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards and D'Angelo Russell out because of health and safety protocols, and has to do a lot better. Minnesota has a very tough matchup next against Utah, but they can finish the week against the Lakers and their awful defense.

Fri Dec 24 202109:22Malik Beasley Scores Season-High 33 Points
Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Malik Beasley led all scorers with a season-high 33 points in Thursday's 128-116 loss to the Jazz, shooting 13-for-25 from the field and 7-for-16 from downtown. He added six rebounds in 43 minutes of action with one assist, one steal and two turnovers. The Timberwolves don't have a lot of regulars left anymore and Karl-Anthony Towns was the latest big name to head into health and safety protocols on Thursday. Beasley has been benefiting from the situation and now boasts 55 points across the last two games. He'll play a big part again on Monday against Boston if Minnesota remains undermanned.

Fri Dec 17 202121:27Malik Beasley Draws First Start Of Season Friday
Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Malik Beasley has been bumped into the starting five for Friday's contest against the Lakers with Anthony Edwards (health and safety protocols) unavailable. After serving as a near full-time starter over his first year and a half with the Timberwolves, Beasley has scuffled in his transition to the second unit, having averaged just 11 points per game on a career-low 36.1 percent shooting overall. With that said, he stands to see elevated DFS value against L.A., as Taurean Prince (health and safety protocols) also being out leaves Minnesota thin on the wing. In season-long formats that don't log shooting percentage, Beasley is worth a short-term stream based on his scoring history.

Thu Nov 25 202118:52Malik Beasley Scores 29 Off The Bench During Win Wednesday
Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Malik Beasley erupted for 29 points off the bench during a 113-101 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday. The 25-year-old shot 9-for-19 from the field, including 5-for-13 from behind the arc, and 6-for-7 from the line. Beasley also chipped in with three boards, a block, and an assist across a season-high 38 minutes. After a 2020-2021 campaign of seeing starter minutes and averaging 19.6 points, Beasley has been relegated to the bench and has little fantasy value with only 10.6 points per game this year.

Mon May 17 202119:06Rookie Edwards makes himself room in top trio for T-wolves
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — More than a year after acquiring D'Angelo Russell as the pick-and-roll initiator for pal Karl-Anthony Towns, the Minnesota Timberwolves finally closed this season with a full month of games that both halves of their star pairing were available to play in. Their biggest takeaway from the longest stretch of time Towns and Russell have had together on the floor was that they're actually only two parts of what has quickly become a formidable trio. Anthony Edwards filled his audition for the NBA Rookie of the Year award with high-flying dunks, timely 3-pointers and wide smiles, leaving the Timberwolves with no regret about making him the first overall pick in the draft. Towns and Russell will have to make room. “They help me tremendously, because they can space the floor, so it makes it easier to get downhill," said Edwards, who led all first-year players in scoring at 19.3 points per game at age 19. "Because I’m so dynamic going downhill, it opens the '3' up for them. Like,... [More]
Thu Feb 25 202119:13NBA suspends Wolves' Beasley 12 games for felony gun threat
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Malik Beasley has been suspended for 12 games without pay by the NBA for his recent guilty plea to a felony charge of threats of violence. The league announced Thursday the punishment, which will begin with Minnesota's game Saturday at Washington. Beasley is eligible to return March 27 against Houston. Beasley, in his fifth NBA season, is averaging a career-best 20.5 points. He was sentenced earlier this month to 120 days in jail for the Sept. 26 incident, when he pointed a rifle outside his home in suburban Minneapolis at a family on a house-hunting tour. Police later found weapons and marijuana in the home. As part of Beasley’s plea deal, prosecutors dropped a felony fifth-degree drug possession charge. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said Beasley can serve his stay in the workhouse after his season is over; COVID-19 precautions could require the county to release him on electronic home monitoring for the duration of the sentence. Speaking at his remote sentencing, he said, “I am not that person. I humbly apologize for my actions.” Timberwolves president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas, in a statement distributed by the team, said the organization fully supports the NBA's decision “As we work together with Malik to advance his development as a player and a person, we look forward to seeing his growth,” Rosas said. ___ More AP NBA coverage: https://apnews.com/hub/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
Tue Feb 9 202115:05Wolves' Beasley gets 120-day sentence for gun threat
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley was sentenced Tuesday to 120 days in jail after pleading guilty to a felony charge of threats of violence for pointing a rifle at a family outside his home last fall. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office announced that Beasley can serve his stay in the workhouse after the conclusion of his NBA season, setting a tentative report date for May 26. COVID-19 precautions could require the county to release him on electronic home monitoring for the duration of the sentence. A couple and their 13-year-old child — on a house-hunting tour in September — pulled up to the suburban home where Beasley was living with his wife and then-18-month-old son and found the property roped off. Beasley approached their vehicle and pointed a rifle as he told them to leave. A police search of the house found weapons and marijuana. As part of Beasley's plea deal in December, prosecutors dropped a felony fifth-degree drug possession charge. A victim impact... [More]
Mon Dec 21 202020:19Wolves' Beasley pleads guilty to threats of violence charge
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley pleaded guilty Monday to using a rifle to threaten a family in his suburban Minneapolis neighborhood. Beasley pleaded guilty to a felony count of threats of violence and faces 120 days in a workhouse, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said in a statement. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop a felony fifth-degree drug possession charge. The voicemail for Beasley’s attorney, Ryan Pacyga, was full and not accepting messages. The complaint said a couple on a house-hunting tour last month with their 13-year-old child pulled up to the home rented by Beasley and his wife, Montana Yao, but saw it was roped off. Beasley tapped on the window of the family’s SUV, pointed a rifle at them and told them to get off his property, prosecutors said. Police said they searched Beasley and Yao’s home and found a 12-gauge shotgun, a handgun and an automatic rifle that matched the description given by the couple in the SUV. Police said they also found leafy marijuana in the home. Possessing marijuana in its original leafy form is illegal in Minnesota. Yao was charged with fifth-degree drug possession. Her next court appearance is Dec. 29. Beasley averaged 20.7 points in 14 games with the Wolves this past season. ___ More AP NBA: https://apnews.com/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports

Sun Sep 27 202014:33Timberwolves' guard Beasley jailed after arrest on 2 charges
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley was in jail Sunday on charges of drug possession and receiving and concealing stolen property, after his arrest the night before. The Athletic first reported Beasley's arrest Saturday night at his home in Plymouth, a suburb of Minneapolis. ESPN reported that police obtained a search warrant for Beasley's home after a complaint that he brandished a weapon at a person and officers found marijuana and guns in the home. “We’re aware of the situation involving Malik and in the process of gathering more information,” Timberwolves coach Ryan Saunders said. Beasley participated in voluntary workouts at the team facility earlier this year. He has not taken part in group workouts that began this week for teams that didn't qualify for the NBA's restart in Florida after the four-plus-month pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 23-year-old Beasley will be a restricted free agent when the season ends. The 19th overall pick in the 2016 draft by Denver, Beasley averaged 20.7 points in 14 games for Minnesota after being acquired in a trade with the Nuggets in February. Beasley's attorney, Steve Haney, did not immediately respond to a phone message left Sunday by The Associated Press. ___ More AP NBA coverage: https://apnews.com/NBA
Fri Jun 5 202020:45Another rough season ends with Wolves near bottom of league
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Another season of setback and tumult has mercifully ended for the Minnesota Timberwolves, this time in the strangest of ways after the NBA's decision to resume virus-halted play with 22 teams. The revelation of the makeshift plan immediately put the Timberwolves, who finished 19-45 for the third-worst record in the league, in offseason mode after nearly three months in limbo while the world wrestled with the COVID-19 pandemic and all NBA arenas went dark. There was no arguing from Minnesota, where the 18 games remaining on the original schedule before the shutdown would have had little benefit as long as star center Karl-Anthony Towns was sidelined with a wrist injury.“While we are disappointed for our team and our fans that our season is coming to an end, we understand and accept the league’s plan to move forward with 22 teams. It is important that we be a good teammate not only to the NBA, but to the other 29 teams to support the efforts to complete this season and prepare... [More]
