Memphis Grizzlies guard Luke Kennard may spend time in the starting lineup this season. With Ja Morant (suspension) out for the first 25 games, giving Kennard a more prominent role only makes sense, considering his efficiency from deep over the years. The 27-year-old was traded to Memphis before the trade deadline last season, averaging 11.3 points and shooting 54.0% from behind the arc in 24 games for the Grizzlies. While Kennard could see fewer minutes once Morant returns, the former Duke Blue Devil is worth considering late in fantasy drafts heading into the 2023-24 campaign.

The Grizzlies acquired guard Luke Kennard from the Clippers on Thursday in a three-way deal involving Houston. The 26-year-old has had arguably the worst season of his career, averaging 7.8 points in 35 games. However, he'll now head to Memphis and bring his career 42.7% three-point percentage with him, which should continue to be welcomed by category participants. Kennard should receive more minutes with the Grizzlies than he did with his previous team, potentially getting some starts moving ahead for the oft-injured Desmond Bane. While the sharpshooter may not be a routine fantasy contributor, he could get attention as a streaming option at some point during the rest of the season.

Los Angeles Clippers guard Luke Kennard (calf) will return to the court for Thursday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. He's back after missing nearly three weeks due to right calf soreness. The expectation is that Kennard will be limited during his first game back. Although, Kennard will move into the starting five with Marcus Morris Sr. (rib) sidelined for this game. Fantasy managers in season-long formats can get Kennard back in their lineups. He could be a decent fantasy option even if he only plays around 20 minutes in this game.

Los Angeles Clippers guard Luke Kennard (calf) won't play against the Rockets, marking his fourth straight absence. Paul George (hamstring) will also miss this one, so Kennard won't be available on Sunday for a potential spot start. Instead, Terance Mann, who's averaged 11.6 points, 4.7 boards, and 2.4 assists while shooting 39.6% from deep in 18 starts this year, should remain in the starting lineup.

This game will be the third straight contest that Kennard has missed due to right calf soreness. His absence should mean that Norman Powell will get an expanded role off the bench. However, Terance Mann should start and is the better fantasy option between the two players. It's uncertain if Kennard will be healthy enough to play on Sunday. In the meantime, Mann should be a decent streaming option with the Clippers shorthanded right now.

The expectation is that the Clippers are going to monitor his playing time during his first game back on the court. Regardless, Kennard won't be a great fantasy option with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George healthy. He's someone worth keeping an eye on in case one of them sit or get injured in the future.

Kawhi Leonard is uncertain to travel as well, so these three players could very play big roles in Los Angeles.

Powell is definitely the more attractive fantasy piece of the two, and he was actually on a nice scoring run before settling for just five points against the Mavericks.

He was forced to exit their last game after only playing three minutes. With Kawhi Leonard still sidelined, Kennard was starting in his place. If he can't suit up, Norman Powell and John Wall are likely to get more playing time and usage. Both of them serve as very good streaming options, but they're not available in that many leagues. Terance Mann could serve up some value, but he would only be worth it in very deep leagues.
