Wed Nov 17 202119:27Josh Okogie Ruled Out For Wednesday’s Contest
Minnesota Timberwolves small forward Josh Okogie (back) will miss Wednesday's game against the Kings due to back spasms. After opening the year among the starting five, Okogie has shifted into a sparsely used bench role, averaging just 13.4 minutes per game over his last five contests. Known primarily for his defensive acumen, the 23-year-old's offensive duties have steadily declined for Minnesota since his rookie season. Without Okogie in the mix, Taurean Prince stands to see some extra minutes among the second unit, albeit not likely enough to garner DFS appeal. The next chance that the Georgia Tech product has to take the floor comes Thursday vs. San Antonio.

Mon Oct 11 202115:07Josh Okogie Could Miss Monday's Preseason Game
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Josh Okogie (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's preseason game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He has played in each of the last two games, so possibly this is the team giving him a rest day. Okogie is dealing with right ankle soreness, but should be fine going forward. He'll likely have a significant role in the rotation this season. Although, it's uncertain if he'll do enough to warrant drafting in 12-team fantasy formats.

Fri Jun 4 202117:32Bucks' Jrue Holiday wins Joe Dumars Trophy for sportsmanship
NEW YORK (AP) — Milwaukee Bucks guard Jrue Holiday has won the Joe Dumars Trophy as the NBA player who best represents the ideals of sportsmanship on the court. Each NBA team nominated a player for the award. After a panel of league executives chose one finalist from each of the NBA’s six divisions, 343 current players confidentially cast votes to select the winner. “Just knowing that it came from the players, the guys who go through this with me and put their bodies on the line, train in the offseason, it means a lot,” Holiday said Friday. Other finalists were Miami’s Bam Adebayo, Sacramento’s Harrison Barnes, Minnesota’s Josh Okogie, Boston’s Kemba Walker and San Antonio’s Derrick White. Holiday received 130 first-place votes and 2,752 total points in the balloting. Walker, who won this award in 2017 and 2018, was second with 2,474 points. Last season, Holiday won the NBA’s Twyman-Stokes teammate of the year award. The 30-year-old Holiday averaged 17.7 points, 6.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds... [More]
Fri Jun 5 202020:45Another rough season ends with Wolves near bottom of league
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Another season of setback and tumult has mercifully ended for the Minnesota Timberwolves, this time in the strangest of ways after the NBA's decision to resume virus-halted play with 22 teams. The revelation of the makeshift plan immediately put the Timberwolves, who finished 19-45 for the third-worst record in the league, in offseason mode after nearly three months in limbo while the world wrestled with the COVID-19 pandemic and all NBA arenas went dark. There was no arguing from Minnesota, where the 18 games remaining on the original schedule before the shutdown would have had little benefit as long as star center Karl-Anthony Towns was sidelined with a wrist injury.“While we are disappointed for our team and our fans that our season is coming to an end, we understand and accept the league’s plan to move forward with 22 teams. It is important that we be a good teammate not only to the NBA, but to the other 29 teams to support the efforts to complete this season and prepare... [More]
Thu Jun 4 202020:34Quotes: Leaguewide reaction to NBA's return-to-play vote
A sampling of reaction from around the NBA on Thursday, after the league's Board of Governors voted to approve a 22-team format for the resumption of the season next month at the Disney complex near Orlando, Florida:“We can now focus our efforts on preparing for the 2020-21 season and, ideally, putting ourselves in position to be a very successful team. In many respects, despite our won-loss record, we had a productive season this year. Our rookies gained valuable experience, several of our young veterans showed marked improvement, our injured players progressed in their rehab, and our culture remained strong.” — Bob Myers, general manager of the Golden State Warriors.“To all the fans in Minnesota, I appreciate you all!! Trust me when I say this, the best is yet to come!!” — Josh Okogie of the Minnesota Timberwolves.“From a fan perspective, I’m curious to see what it plays like. This is going to be new for everyone, obviously. So it’s going to be really hard to tell for who benefits from... [More]
