PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia 76ers are unsure if Markelle Fultz will play again this season.The 20-year-old Fultz was diagnosed this month with thoracic outlet syndrome and is doing physical therapy in Los Angeles. General manager Elton Brand said Saturday prior to a game against Toronto he has no timetable for Fultz's return to basketball activities.Brand said it was "to be determined" if Fultz will play again this season."I can't say right now," Brand said.The GM expects to update Fultz's situation in "a few weeks."Fultz was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 draft, but his young career has been sidetracked by injuries and ineffectiveness. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The 87ers are getting eighty-sixed.Philadelphia's G League affiliate was rebranded Wednesday as the Delaware Blue Coats . The team will move from Newark, Delaware, to Wilmington and is set to play in the new 2,500-seat 76ers Fieldhouse.The team had been nicknamed the 87ers (also called the Sevens) and played on the University of Delaware campus."The 87ers name, to be blunt, it was a little confusing," 76ers president of business operations Chris Heck said.The new name was inspired by the 1st Delaware Regiment soldiers who were known for their signature blue combat uniforms and courage during the American Revolution. Brand announced his retirement on Tuesday, Al Coqueran of the Examiner reports. "I could get in shape if I got the call but this looks like the end of the run for me, right now it is family time," Brand said.

The former number one pick of the 1999 NBA draft called it quits after an injury-riddled 16-year career. Brand spent the last two seasons playing spot minutes off the Hawks' bench, and he was unable to land a championship ring during his five postseason trips. While it sounds like he's leaving the door ajar, Brand is content ending his playing career as a two-time All-Star and the Clippers' third-leading scorer in franchise history.

Brand said Thursday that he'll take several weeks to decide whether or not the 2014-15 season will be his last in the NBA, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The 16-year veteran appeared in only 36 games this season, serving primarily in a mentorship role for the 60-win Hawks. Brand, who's dealt with a number of injuries since entering the league in 1999, is unlikely to fetch more than a veteran's minimum deal, but he'd likely draw interest from a contending team in search of frontcourt depth and strong leadership.

Brand did not play in Sunday's Game 1 win over Brooklyn.

Atlanta rested players several times down the stretch in the regular season, which allowed Brand to make a handful of starts. The Hawks obviously do not have that luxury in the playoffs, which leaves Brand on the end of the bench. Barring several injuries to Atlanta's front court, Brand will likely serve as a veteran presence on the Hawks with very limited in-game impact.
