Jenkins will be sent to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the D-League on Friday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Jenkins hasn't been able to break into coach Mike Budenholzer's rotation this season, seeing action in only one game. With the Mad Ants set to play six games in 10 days, Jenkins will have a chance to pick up some playing time, but his future with the Hawks still seemingly appears bleak. The team declined to pick up the guard's fourth-year option in October, likely leaving him to rot on the bench for the rest of the season until becoming a free agent over the summer.

Jenkins has only seen time on the court in one game this season.
Jenkins is currently one of the last options off the bench in Atlanta. The fourth-year player only competed in 13 games last season, and he's on track for a similar number during the 2014-15 campaign.

Jenkins will be inactive for Saturday's game despite being healthy, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Jenkins will likely be a healthy inactive as long as the Hawks don't become riddled with injuries. Because of this, there are far more viable options other than Jenkins at this point in the year.
Fri Oct 31 201410:13Jenkins had fourth-year option declined by Hawks on Thursday
Jenkins had his fourth-year option declined by the Hawks on Thursday, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Jenkins, who is still on his rookie deal after being selected in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft, will become an unrestricted free agent next summer as a result. Injuries have stalled his development, limiting him to just 13 games last season. The smooth-shooting Jenkins is buried on the depth chart at shooting guard behind Kyle Korver, Thabo Sefolosha and Kent Bazemore, which will probably prevent him from seeing much run with the Hawks in 2014-15.

Jenkins (back) is practicing without limitations, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore reports.
Jenkins was bothered with a back injury last season, but he should factor into the rotation at shooting guard, behind Kyle Korver and Thabo Sefolosha.
Tue Jul 15 201418:27John Jenkins (back) scoreless in Hawks' loss
John Jenkins (lower back surgery) went scoreless in eight minutes of action on Tuesday, and the Hawks rested him as a precaution in the second half.
Jenkins had two points, two assists and five fouls in 21 minutes during his Summer League debut on Saturday, but he's still working himself into game shape after a long rehabilitation. We'll keep an eye on him throughout the preseason but it's hard to envision him having reliable fantasy appeal.

He had lower back surgery back on Feb. 3 and there have not been many updates since. Jenkins had a golden opportunity earlier in the 2013-14 season while Lou Williams was recovering from his ACL surgery, but he couldn't make much of an impact. He won't be worth drafting in almost any fantasy league.

Fri Dec 27 201319:21Jenkins out indefinitely as everybody huddles
John Jenkins (leg) will be out indefinitely while the Hawks and his agent all get together to decide his future.
That doesn't mean a long-term absence is guaranteed, but these types of situations usually end that way, especially for a younger player on a team without championship aspirations.

Thu Dec 26 201319:08John Jenkins (leg) out Thurs. w/ nerve issues
Hawks guard John Jenkins will not play on Thursday due to nerve pain in his leg which may stem from his recent back injury.
Jenkins doesn't anticipate needing surgery but he said he will probably have another epidural soon, adding, "It's time to just get [the injury] out of the way forever." He wasn't providing fantasy value but his absence is a blow for the Hawks' backcourt depth, and places more importance on the continued health of Lou Williams.

Thu Dec 26 201312:16John Jenkins (back) will miss Thursday's game
John Jenkins (back) will miss Thursday's game against the Cavaliers.
Jenkins traveled with the team, but will be forced to sit with a flare-up of his recurring back problems. The second-year guard is only averaging 6.5 minutes per game in the month of December, so it goes without saying that he shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar.

Sat Nov 9 201315:22Hawks want John Jenkins to improve defense
John Jenkins' defensive struggles have kept him out of the Hawks' rotation, according to Mike Budenholzer.
Jenkins has made one six-minute cameo all season. "Offensively, we are doing OK. That is probably John's strength," said Budenholzer. "Right now, I think he needs to focus on that defensive end and make sure he is doing everything possible at that end of the court." With Lou Williams (knee) due back eventually, Jenkins' season outlook is gloomy.
