Black scored eight points (4-7 FG), to go with seven rebounds, an assist, a steal, and a block in 26 minutes on Sunday.
Black made some effective plays for his team, but he still isn't putting up the kind of value to make him worth adding, except in the deepest leagues. Ed Davis had a better game on Sunday and can provide better value to those looking for a power forward.

Black started at power forward Wednesday against the Bucks and had five points (2-2 FG, 1-4 FT) with four rebounds in 16 minutes in the overtime loss.
Black had been suffering through an ankle injury, but he could work himself back into starter's minutes. For now, he is a player worth monitoring but not picking up quite yet.
Tue Feb 3 201518:46Black will get start at power forward Wednesday against Bucks
Black will get the start at power forward Wednesday against the Bucks.
Jordan Hill is expected to be out through the All-Star break, so Black could see 20-30 minutes over the next handful of games. However, Carlos Boozer, Ed Davis and Robert Sacre will also share the load with Hill out, and all three players have more fantasy upside than Black.
Sun Feb 1 201513:10Black (ankle) will be available for Sunday's game against Knicks
Black (ankle) will be available for Sunday's game against the Knicks, although coach Byron Scott said that he may not end up playing him at all, Lakers reporter Mike Trudell reports.
Black has continually dealt with ankle issues in the new year and has been refined to a limited role off the bench as a result. He should be considered day-to-day moving forward.

Black (ankle) fought through any soreness in his ankle to play seven minutes off the bench Sunday. He put up three points and five rebounds.
Black was earning about 20 minutes per game before missing the last two games with a sprained ankle. If he continues to impress and the Lakers continue to stumble, it's possible Black could get enough minutes at some point to have value in standard leagues, but he's not there yet.
Sun Jan 25 201514:56Black (ankle) will be available against Rockets
Black (ankle) will be available against the Rockets, although he's still dealing with soreness and may not actually enter the game, Mike Trudell of ESPN reports.
It sounds like Black will only be used in emergency situations which doesn't bode well for his production Sunday. Assuming that he doesn't take on a full workload against the Rockets, his next opportunity to play when healthy will be against the Wizards on Tuesday.
Fri Jan 23 201519:25Black (ankle) will not play Friday against Spurs
Black (ankle) will not play Friday against the Spurs.
The Lakers are going with a new-look starting lineup, but Black will not be in the mix for minutes Friday due to his ankle injury. Consider him day-to-day.
Thu Jan 22 201518:36Tarik Black: (Ankle) Likely to Miss Friday's Game
Black (ankle) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Spurs, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Black suffered the ankle injury in Monday's game, with the negative X-ray confirming there was no break. He missed Wednesday's game due to the issue, and will likely miss Friday's game as well.
Tue Jan 20 201514:31Black (ankle) ruled out for Wednesday's game against Pelicans
Black (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reports.
Black sprained his ankle against the Suns on Monday, and although X-rays came back negative, he'll sit out Wednesday's game. Black, who is averaging 7.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in seven games with the Lakers, should be considered questionable to play Friday in San Antonio.
Tue Jan 20 201500:52Tarik Black: (Ankle) X-Rays Negative
Black suffered an ankle injury during Monday's game against the Suns but his X-rays came back negative, Mike Trudell of TWC Sports Net reports.
Black managed to spend 21 minutes on the court and recorded six points and three rebounds before he went to the locker room. The negative X-rays are a good sign, although he should still be considered day-to-day ahead of Wednesday's game against the Pelicans.
Sat Jan 10 201516:10Black came off bench for just 17 minutes against Magic on Friday...
Black came off the bench for just 17 minutes against the Magic on Friday but nearly recorded a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. According to coach Byron Scott, this performance has earned him rotation minutes against Portland on Sunday, the OC Register reports.
Black has only played in two games for the Lakers so far this season, although he's made a positive impact on Scott during his short time with the team. It would be somewhat surprising if Black saw 25 plus minutes Sunday, but he's certainly trending in that direction if he can continue to make an his presence felt moving forward.
Sun Dec 28 201417:25Black claimed off waivers by Lakers on Sunday
Black was claimed off waivers by the Lakers on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Black was waived by the Rockets on Friday in order to make room for the addition of Josh Smith, but it didn't take long for the 6-foot-11 forward to find a new home. He had seen just under 16 minutes per game during his 2014-15 season with Houston, and should be given an even greater chance to contribute on a Laker squad with less depth. The team waived forward Xavier Henry in a simultaneous move.

Black was waived by the Rockets on Friday in order to clear a roster spot for Josh Smith, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.
The undrafted rookie out of Kansas made an unexpected impact this season, playing in 25 games and making 12 starts, due in large part to injuries in the Houston frontcourt. The 23-year-old averaged 4.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per game. He figures to have plenty of suitors and will likely sign on with another team in short order.

Black scored just one point (0-1 FG, 1-2 FT) with three rebounds in seven minutes with Dwight Howard back in the lineup Saturday.
With Black now back on the bench, any fantasy value he may have had, has gone along with his starter's status.

Black scored six points (3-3 FG) and added six rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes of action against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.
Despite the start, Black only played 20 minutes and didn't do much with it in terms of fantasy value. He has been averaging 6.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in his last 10 games. He has been receiving 20 minutes a night in that span, which is just not enough time for a player to be fantasy relevant in standard leagues. If he were given more time we might have something, but until then, he can remain in the fantasy free agency.

Black will get the starting nod Wednesday night in place of Dwight Howard (knee).
Black will make his second start of the 2014-15 season, as Howard was a last-minute scratch due to a right knee strain. The 22-year-old center has played just 14 minutes per game this season, but should see a heavy workload in the absence of Howard. Through the season's first nine games, Black is averaging 3.2 points and 4.1 rebounds.

Black scored 10 points (5-6 FG), with six rebounds in 17 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Timberwolves.
While Black has received some minutes from time to time this year, he showed us a little of what he's capable of doing on Wednesday. In just 17 minutes, he managed to hit double-digit points, and what was even more impressive was that four of his six rebounds were on the offensive glass. Black doesn't hold a ton of fantasy value right now, but he'll be a player to monitor.

Black, starting in place of Dwight Howard (illness), played just 15 minutes and ended with two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 FT) and five rebounds.
Black was overmatched by Andrew Bogut and will go back to the bench as soon as Dwight Howard is healthy. Black, even if starting, only has value in extremely deep leagues.
Sat Nov 8 201419:46Black will start in place of Dwight Howard (illness) Saturday
Black will start in place of Dwight Howard (illness) Saturday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Black is averaging just 13.5 minutes on the court this season but he should see a stark increase in that number Saturday.

Black returned from a thigh injury Thursday against the Spurs, but played just nine minutes and didn't attempt a single shot.
Black had no reason to be in, given that Dwight Howard had a double-double and scored 32 points. However, it looks as if he's completely over his injury.
