Tue Mar 7 202322:58Robert Williams III Dealing With Hamstring Injury
Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III (hamstring) won't play in Wednesday's game versus Portland. He tweaked his hamstring during the loss to Brooklyn on Friday night and missed the next two games against the Knicks and Cavaliers. Head coach Joe Mazzulla stated he would be out for at least a week to 10 days. However, considering Williams' history, he may be out longer. In the meantime, Al Horford should handle things in the middle, with Mike Muscala expected to see enough action from the bench to warrant consideration in deeper formats.

Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III (hamstring) exited Friday's 115-105 loss to the Brooklyn Nets because of hamstring tightness. He did not return. The 25-year-old logged 19 minutes in this one, finishing with six points, six rebounds, two blocks and a steal before being ruled out in the second half. LeBron James Injury Update

James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20

LeBron James' Season Recap

Despite James' advanced NBA age, he's still productive. In 47 appearances, he's averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. While his three-point percentage has regressed, that's never been his strong suit.James was also named an All-Star captain while recently passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader.https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1623184801284104192?s=20That said, despite some high-level accomplishments, the year has been a rough one for the 2003 No. 1 overall pick. He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months.... Wed Feb 15 202318:25Robert Williams III Ruled Out Versus Detroit
Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III (knee) will sit out Wednesday's game against the Detroit Pistons. Williams has been battling knee soreness and only played 13 minutes in Tuesday's game. Al Horford and Mike Muscala should see extra minutes with Williams out. The All-Star break should help give Williams some much needed rest, but this may be an issue for the remainder of the season.

Tue Feb 14 202318:35Al Horford Out, Robert Williams III Playing Tuesday
Boston Celtics forward/center Al Horford (knee) has been ruled out Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks, while fellow center Robert Williams III (ankle) has been cleared to play. Horford missed two games with knee swelling before playing 30 minutes on Sunday and will miss another game due to the ailment. Horford reportedly does intend to play in the second game of the back-to-back set and is likely only out Tuesday as a precaution. Williams continues to deal with ankle soreness, but is good to go for his normal amount of minutes. It remains to be seen if Williams will see a rest day on Wednesday. Grant Williams (elbow) should see additional minutes with Horford out.

Tue Feb 14 202314:45Al Horford And Robert Williams III Questionable On Tuesday
Boston Celtics big men Al Horford (knee) and Robert Williams III (ankle) are the latest starters on the team to join the injury report while they're both questionable for right knee swelling and left ankle soreness, respectively. At this rate, the Celtics may just use this current back-to-back as a rest period, since these will be their last two games before the All-Star break. If just one or both are sidelined on Tuesday, then Grant Williams, Blake Griffin, Luke Kornetand maybe even Mike Muscala should see added minutes. Williams would be the most surefire streaming option.

Mon Feb 13 202307:23Robert Williams III Continues Great Work On The Glass
Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III dominated the glass with 16 rebounds and completed a double-double with 10 points in Sunday's 119-109 win over Memphis. The Grizzlies remained without Steven Adams (knee), so Williams III had no trouble putting his foot down in the paint to dominate in the rebounding category. He shot 5-for-9 in the game and also had three assists and one steal. Williams III has now averaged 15.7 rebounds across his last three appearances. He's a regular double-double threat and has lately found his way into the column with some very good numbers.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202323:29Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.

Kevin Durant's Season Recap

Durant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season.
Wed Feb 8 202318:37Al Horford And Robert Williams III Both Out Wednesday
The Boston Celtics have ruled out centers Al Horford (knee) and Robert Williams III (ankle) for Wednesday's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers. Horford and Williams were both listed as questionable, but were unable to push through to play against the Sixers. Grant Williams, Blake Griffin and Luke Kornet should all see increased roles while opposing center Joel Embiid (foot) should have a field day if he is able to play through his own ailment.

Wed Feb 8 202315:28Robert Williams III Downgraded To Questionable
Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III (ankle) has been downgraded to questionable for Wednesday's clash with Philadelphia. He is dealing with a sprained left ankle and was initially probable for the contest, but the change in his status leaves a big question mark hanging over Williams III's head ahead of the mouth-watering matchup. Al Horford (knee) is also questionable for the contest, and if both players are unavailable, Luke Kornet figures to feature very heavily in the contest, while there will be extended minutes available for Grant Williams and Blake Griffin.

Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III (ankle) won't suit up for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The big man will sit this game out due to a sprained left ankle. His absence should mean Al Horford and Grant Williams will have increased roles. Also, Luke Kornet could play more, but is the worst option between the three. Fantasy managers should check to see if Grant W. is available because he has played well in the past when Boston is shorthanded.

If he can't go, Al Horford could see some additional work, giving him a higher upside on the fantasy end. Grant Williams and Luke Kornet should also be more involved, although the former has a better chance of being productive.

Marcus Smart Injury Update

The Celtics were without Jayson Tatum for Saturday's meeting with Toronto, as the MVP candidate got the day off to deal with wrist soreness. Luckily, the C's recently got Jaylen Brown back from a three-game layoff, so the team at least had its No. 2 scoring option. Boston also had Marcus Smart, who is proficient on both ends of the floor.Unfortunately, the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year's evening didn't last long, as he exited in the first half after suffering a sprained right ankle. Smart has battled ankle injuries throughout his career, so fantasy managers are familiar with this.https://twitter.com/ChrisForsberg_/status/1616933981362028546?s=20&t=ADA6dM_t2muMcgq6cJRitwWhile X-ray results were encouraging, revealing no structural damage, he'll likely miss a game or two, possibly more.
