Wed Jun 29 202210:08Nerlens Noel, Alec Burks Heading To Detroit
The New York Knicks are trading center Nerlens Noel and guard Alec Burks to the Detroit Pistons, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Knicks are also sending two future second rounders and cash. The move is likely being made by New York to free up cap space to sign free agent guard Jalen Brunson. Noel and Burks are due a combined $19 million this year. As for the Pistons, the franchise will be taking on a pair of expiring contracts with team options for the 2023-24 season. With the extra $19 million against the team's cap, it's perhaps less likely that the Pistons will be in on the Deandre Ayton sweepstakes this summer.

Sun Jun 26 202219:34Knicks Looking To Move Alec Burks
New York Knicks guard Alec Burks (foot) is expected to be moved. With the franchise looking to clear cap space in an attempt to land Jalen Brunson, dealing Burks and his $10 million expiring contract could be on the horizon. The 30-year-old averaged 11.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while shooting 40.4% from deep last season. However, he recently underwent foot surgery, which may be a hurdle the team will have to overcome. Nonetheless, although the veteran isn't anticipated to be a consistent fantasy performer throughout the year, he'll probably have more than a handful of solid outings during the 2022-23 campaign. His stock should rise even higher if he lands a starting gig.

Tue Mar 22 202222:51Alec Burks Finishes With 21 Points Versus Atlanta
New York Knicks guard Alec Burks scored 21 points during the loss to the Atlanta Hawks. He also added four assists and three steals. Burks had the second-most points for his team, finishing behind RJ Barrett, who had 30. While the veteran is only averaging 11 points on the year, he should continue to get plenty of minutes moving forward. Julius Randle (quadriceps) wasn't available on Tuesday, so if he doesn't suit up again on Wednesday in Charlotte, the second game of a back-to-back, Burks may continue to benefit by seeing an uptick in fantasy production.

Tue Dec 14 202118:50Alec Burks Returning On Tuesday
New York Knicks guard Alec Burks (personal) is available for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. He was away from the team due to a personal matter, but will be back for this one. His return should push Derrick Rose back to the bench. Fantasy managers should check their lineups and make sure Burks is back in there. He should have plenty of value for this one.

Wed Dec 1 202107:57Alec Burks Nets Season-High 25 Points Versus Brooklyn
New York Knicks guard Alec Burks notched a season-high 25 points as a starter in Tuesday's 112-110 loss to Brooklyn, shooting 9-for-21 from the field and 4-for-10 from downtown. He pulled down five rebounds and dished out five assists with one turnover in 39 minutes, adding a pair of steals and a block on the defensive end. This was Burks' first start of the campaign, and he's set to get a lot of burn now, with the team announcing that Kemba Walker won't be part of the rotation anymore. Burks will have a couple of rough matchups to close out the week against Chicago and Denver, but Brooklyn is also a top-class side, and as a microwave scorer, Burks is always capable of putting up points in a hurry.

Mon Nov 29 202114:18Alec Burks Moves Into Starting Five
New York Knicks guard Alec Burks will move into the starting five going forward, according to head coach Tom Thibodeau. The Knicks have decided to take Kemba Walker out of the rotation. Burks is coming off a 23-point outing and will have still more value in the starting five. Fantasy managers should double check that Burks isn't available on the waiver wire. It sounds like he'll be the starter going forward, which should mean an increased value.

Sun Nov 28 202108:29Alec Burks Top Scores For Knicks As Starter
New York Knicks guard Alec Burks logged his first start of the campaign on Saturday against Atlanta and had a very good night with a team-high 23 points on 7-for-17 shooting in a 99-90 win. Most of his makes came from downtown as he went 4-for-7 with the three-ball, and Burks also collected seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and three turnovers in 39 minutes. Burks benefitted from the absence of Kemba Walker (rest) and Derrick Rose (ankle). He's also done well off the bench, so it wasn't really surprising that he was able to lead the team's offense.

Sat Nov 27 202119:12Alec Burks Enters Starting Lineup Saturday
New York Knicks shooting guard/small forward Alec Burks will make his first start of the season Saturday against Atlanta with Kemba Walker (rest) unavailable. Burks figures to share ballhandling duties in the first unit alongside RJ Barrett and Julius Randle, but with Derrick Rose (knee) also out, Burks stands to see a significantly elevated role. Burks has averaged just 9.8 points per game across his first 19 contests, but he has shot 44 percent from behind the arc in that stretch. Immanuel Quickley will key the second unit and should see a similarly large offensive focus. Both are strong DFS targets due to their current price tags and Atlanta's shaky defense (108.2 PPG allowed).

Sat Nov 20 202119:46Alec Burks Leads All Scorers In Saturday's Win
New York Knicks guard Alec Burks scored a game-high 20 points in 25 minutes off the bench in Saturday's 106-99 win over Houston, hitting a superb 6-for-7 from downtown. He finished with 6-for-8 overall shooting and went 2-for-2 at the line. The 30-year-old had a big game on the defensive end as well with a career-high tying five steals. He added five rebounds and three assists to his line with zero turnovers. Burks is well-known as a microwave scorer, and he's found his rhythm in recent outings, going for at least 14 points in four of the last five games. Of course, getting points against the miserable Rockets isn't a particularly hard task either. The next three matchups against Chicago, the Lakers and Phoenix will be much tougher for Burks and the Knicks.

Thu Feb 6 202020:56Wolves send Wiggins to Warriors for Russell in scorer swap
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves have taken on yet another new look, with D'Angelo Russell on his way to join pal Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins heading west to the Golden State Warriors. In a swap of high scorers consummated just a few hours before the NBA deadline on Thursday, the Timberwolves acquired the dynamic point guard they'd been seeking for awhile in Russell and pulled the plug on their development of Wiggins, the mercurial first overall pick of the 2014 draft. The deal also sent two little-used Golden State players, guard Jacob Evans and forward Omari Spellman, to the Timberwolves and routed two draft picks to the Warriors. They'll get Minnesota's first-rounder and second-rounder in 2021, unless the first-rounder is in the top three. Then it would roll over to 2022.That means the Timberwolves, who overturned half of their roster this week, will have two first-round picks this summer, their own that's likely to be in the top five and another one from Brooklyn... Thu Feb 6 202014:56AP source: Wolves send Wiggins to Warriors for Russell
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — In a swap of high scorers, the Minnesota Timberwolves acquired D'Angelo Russell on Thursday from the Golden State Warriors for Andrew Wiggins, according to a person with knowledge of the trade. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal had yet to be finalized by the NBA with a few hours remaining before the deadline. ESPN first reported the trade, which also includes additional players and draft picks. Russell had been on Minnesota's radar for months, a dynamic point guard in his fifth season in the league after going as the second overall pick in the 2015 draft. The first choice that year was Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns, a friend of Russell around whom the front office has been trying to rebuild the roster. Minnesota will be Russell's fourth NBA team. He averaged 23.6 points per game for the injury-wrecked Warriors, a career high after coming in an offseason trade with Brooklyn. The Wolves tried to woo him then, too,... [More]

Thu Oct 31 201918:09Warriors lose Stephen Curry to broken hand, look for answers
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — D'Angelo Russell has done this before, forced to take on a far bigger role just last season because of injuries in Brooklyn. And now the new Golden State guard must do it again with the absence of both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in a suddenly short-handed backcourt.Curry broke his left hand in a 121-110 loss to Phoenix on Wednesday night and it remained unclear a day later how long he might be sidelined, while Splash Brother Thompson could miss the entire season recovering from July 2 surgery for a torn ACL in his left knee that he hurt in a Game 6 loss in the NBA Finals that gave Toronto its first title. Curry underwent a CT scan Thursday but the team said it would have specialists evaluate the results before providing an update on his status. However long he is out, it hurts for far more than what he brings on the court. Curry's presence in the locker room provides an example for the young Warriors, and he is their longest-tenured player and their oldest at age... [More]

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Bob Myers has accepted Kevin Durant's departure for the Brooklyn Nets with an appreciation for all the superstar forward accomplished with the franchise, even if the Golden State general manager would have loved to keep KD around a little longer."I have a peace about it," Myers said Monday as he discussed the Warriors' flurry of moves in free agency. And Myers doesn't think he would do anything differently in an attempt to keep Durant, who told Myers he was ready for a new chapter after winning championships with the Warriors in 2017 and '18 as NBA Finals MVP both years."You do the best you can," Myers said. "I think all along, to me it was a blessing that he came, that he wanted to be a part of this. This is a guy who can move in whatever direction he wants because of his talent. He came and he delivered. In my opinion he was everything we could have asked for. He represented us on the court, he represented us off the court. He still has a great relationship with... [More]
