Wed Feb 1 202314:54John Konchar Listed As Questionable
Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward John Konchar (concussion) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's clash with Portland. He has missed the last three games whilst in concussion protocol. Konchar had a very nice start to the campaign, but his minutes have been trending down for a while and he's had a very marginal role in his most recent appearances, logging only 27 minutes across three games. The 26-year-old could have a bigger role to play on Wednesday if Desmond Bane (knee) remains out, but that's far from certain.

Thu Oct 27 202221:40John Konchar Will Not Play Thursday
Memphis Grizzlies forward John Konchar (shoulder) will not play Thursday night against the Sacramento Kings. Konchar was questionable to play with shoulder soreness, but will not be able to take the court. Konchar was a popular streamer to start the season, but has since been regulated to a bench role now that Dillon Brooks is healthy. Brooks and Desmond Bane will continue to see the bulk of the minutes on the wing Thursday while David Roddy and Jake LaRavia should see more minutes off the bench.

Thu Oct 27 202215:09John Konchar Regarded As Questionable For Thursday
Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward John Konchar (shoulder) is carrying a questionable tag ahead of Thursday's game against Sacramento. He is bothered by a sore left shoulder and could sit out his first game of the season. Konchar had a pair of strong outings to start the season when he rolled with the starting unit, but Dillon Brooks made his season debut in Monday's win over Brooklyn and his return is a blow for Konchar's fantasy stock. Brooks played only 24 minutes against the Nets and the team will likely want to take it easy with him, so reserves like Tyus Jones and David Roddy should benefit if Konchar can't play.

Sat Oct 22 202202:17John Konchar Has Another Solid Showing
Memphis Grizzlies guard John Konchar finished with 17 points during the win over Houston. He started on Friday night, shooting 7-for-11 from the field and 3-for-6 from downtown while adding five rebounds, three steals, and one block. The 26-year-old has played well in his expanded role and has been delivering for fantasy managers at the same time. However, with Dillon Brooks (thigh) due back soon, Konchar's production may trend in the wrong direction once he moves back to the bench.

Mon Oct 3 202211:30NBA Draft Analysis: Second-Round Rookies to Watch Early for Fantasy Basketball
It's funny that every year at the NBA Draft, once the end of the guaranteed money and live appearances arrives at the end of the first round, everybody tunes out and refers to the 60th pick as "Mr. Irrelevant." That's not very accurate though, is it? Speaking historically, the title of "Mr. Irrelevant" could just as easily be applied to each pick in the draft, as organizations differ greatly in their evaluation of talent and their own needs, particularly in a year without the NCAA tournament. The nickname just doesn't reflect how basketball works anymore. Executives strategically stockpile second-round draft picks for the less burdensome financial obligations, and organizations in rebuilding mode get super creative to field a respectable team on a budget.Particularly in the NBA where worldwide talent is plentiful and positional lines continue to fade, opportunity is everything: in the right situation, the right under-the-radar player can make an immediate, poignant statement. With professional development leagues for 16-18-year-olds, an ever-expanding set of domestic/international opportunities due to the sheer growth of basketball, and widespread NIL rights for college athletes, players of all levels and localities are starting to get their due exposure and now have enough freedom to hone their skills in a place, and at a pace, that fits best with their path to the NBA.Plus, I am inherently skeptical and distrusting of scouting from the high school level to pre-Draft. That's why in this annual article, I tend to favor overlooked college players (love the mid-majors/non-power conferences) with either well-rounded, polished games, or specific statistical specialties. We are going to discuss a handful of 2022 second-round picks and undrafted free agent signees who, given their individual skillsets and circumstances, warrant the attention of Fantasy Basketball Managers as potential high-impact rookies for the 2022-23 campaign who can quietly be acquired on clearance once they start showing signs of emergence. ... Thu Jul 7 202216:30John Konchar Gets Three-Year Contract Extension With Memphis
Memphis Grizzlies shooting guard/small forward John Konchar has inked a three-year, $19 million contract extension to remain with the franchise, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Konchar has been a lightly utilized reserve for the Grizzlies over the past three seasons, although he appeared in a career-best 72 games last year, including his first seven starts. Having averaged 4.8 points and 4.6 boards off the bench, the 26-year-old likely remains on the outside looking in of the vast majority of season-long fantasy formats, even as he has shot 40.6 percent from long range throughout his career.

Mon Jul 4 202223:00John Konchar Has Contract Guaranteed
Memphis Grizzlies forward John Konchar had his $2.3 million salary become fully guaranteed. The 26-year-old has been in the league for three years, all in Memphis, and has averaged 4.4 points, 3.8 boards, and 1.3 assists while shooting 40.6% from deep. It appears the Grizzlies want to keep him around, and it's possible he will receive a more prominent role in the rotation moving ahead after the team traded De'Anthony Melton to Philadelphia during the 2022 NBA Draft. Although that won't make Konchar an everyday fantasy option, he may get some work this season, so the streaming potential is there.

Mon Apr 11 202215:22John Konchar Records First Career Triple-Double Sunday
Memphis Grizzlies shooting guard/small forward John Konchar entered the starting five for Sunday's regular-season finale vs. Boston and took advantage of his 39 minutes to the tune of his first career triple-double. Konchar collected 17 points on 7-for-11 shooting, adding 13 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists. With the Grizzlies playing very few of their regulars in the finale, fantasy managers shouldn't anticipate Konchar getting a similar workload come Game 1 of the Western Conference playoffs Saturday. Konchar concludes his third NBA regular season having averaged 4.8 points and 4.6 boards on a nightly basis.

Tue Dec 28 202120:22John Konchar Enters COVID-19 Protocols
Memphis Grizzlies guard John Konchar has entered the league's health and safety protocols. He marks the fifth player on this roster to enter protocols. The Grizzlies are desperately lacking depth on the wings right now. Desmond Bane is looking like a must-have fantasy option lately. Kyle Anderson is quickly picking up value with the Grizzlies losing players. Bane is obviously the better option between the two, but Anderson is at least worth rostering in deep leagues right now.

Mon Dec 27 202111:33John Konchar Posts His First Career Double-Double
Memphis Grizzlies shooting guard John Konchar celebrated his first career double-double on Sunday, recording 11 points and 14 rebounds in a blowout win over the Kings. He also registered three assists, two steals and two blocks with zero turnovers in 28 minutes as a starter. This was Konchar's first run out with the starters, and he was able to produce a solid all-around performance. A few more of these might be coming up because Dillion Brooks and De'Anthony Melton have landed in the league's health and safety protocols. Konchar should be looking at another start on Monday against Phoenix, but it must be noted that this is a very tough matchup for him and the team.
