New Orleans Pelicans guard Trey Murphy III (toe) is questionable for Saturday's matchup against the Clippers. The 22-year-old scored 19 points in 33 minutes versus the Hornets on Wednesday night. However, he's now dealing with left great toe inflammation, so he may not be available for this one. If that's the case, Josh Richardson could work his way into the starting lineup. But even if Richardson doesn't start, his fantasy value will increase if Murphy is out.

New Orleans forward Trey Murphy III was unconscious against Portland on Sunday, hitting nine attempts from deep and finishing with a career-high 41 points. He pushed the team to a big 127-110 victory, shooting 13-for-20 overall from the field. Murphy III did all of his damage in just 30 minutes and capped off his line with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. The 22-year-old has made huge strides during his sophomore season and his most recent performances have been particularly impressive. Murphy III has shot over 44 percent from deep this month, averaging 18.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.3 steals for March.

He got there with nearly perfect shooting as well, going 9-for-11 from the floor, including 6-for-8 from downtown, and shooting 6-for-7 at the line. In 36 minutes on the court, Murphy III added four rebounds, two assists and one steal to his tally. The 22-year-old is having a strong sophomore campaign, averaging 13.0 points with 3.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals. Brandon Ingram's (toe) absence played a part in his Sunday's outburst, but Murphy III also came through with 21 points Saturday against the Lakers with Ingram still next to him, so he had a very impressive finish to the week.

New Orleans Pelicans guard Trey Murphy III (ankle) is available for Saturday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. He is good to go after only playing 20 minutes on Friday due to a right ankle sprain. The 22-year-old appears to be fine and should remain in the starting five on Saturday. Herbert Jones (conditioning) is returning on Saturday, so Naji Marshall will head to the bench and won't have much value anymore.

He was a late addition to the injury report due to a non-COVID related illness. This is not good news with Brandon Ingram (toe) and Herbert Jones (illness) ruled out. Also, Zion Williamson (conditioning) is doubtful and Dyson Daniels (illness), Larry Nance (Achilles) are questionable. Naji Marshall is set to have an increased workload and is a possible streaming option if Murphy sits out as well.

This was a third consecutive start for Murphy III, with him having replaced Zion Williamson (foot) in the starting unit. He had looked really good in the first two games, but Friday's injury is obviously a major blow to his fantasy stock. The Pelicans are off until Monday, which gives Murphy III the whole weekend to recover, but Zion might be back as well by the time the team hosts the Warriors. Larry Nance Jr. is the guy to target if either one can't go Monday night. He's a versatile player who can rack up stats in a hurry, which Nance Jr. proved against the Celtics, bagging 16 points with eight rebounds, one assist, three steals and two blocks in 27 minutes.

Without Zion Williamson (hip), Herbert Jones (knee) and Brandon Ingram (concussion), the New Orleans Pelicans have inserted Jose Alvarado, Naji Marshall and Trey Murphy III into the starting lineup Tuesday. The injuries are not considered severe, so Alvarado, Marshall and Murphy will likely just be spot starts against the Dallas Mavericks. Of the three, Murphy has the highest fantasy ceiling while Alvarado should be a good source of assists and steals. Alvarado and Murphy have only started once in both their careers. In their respective starts last year, Alvarado went for 11 points, five assists, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 33 minutes, while Murphy went for 15 points, six rebounds, two threes and two steals in 27 minutes.

New Orleans Pelicans forward Trey Murphy III had a fantastic game in the team's 101-73 win over the Atlanta Hawks in Monday's Summer League contest. He scored a game-high 30 points while shooting 10-for-18 from the field and 7-for-9 from the free throw line. He also added three three-pointers, six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. Murphy was selected 17th overall in the 2021 NBA draft and struggled to earn consistent playing time as a rookie last year. He shot just 39.4% from the field while averaging 13.9 minutes per contest. The 6'9" 22-year-old has the potential to be a strong three-and-D player in the league. We'll see if he can put things together in year two.
