Tue Dec 6 202222:29Jalen Suggs Out Again On Wednesday
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) won't suit up for Wednesday's meeting with the Clippers, marking his seventh consecutive absence. The 21-year-old has started 13 games this season, averaging 12.6 points, 5.5 assists, and 1.5 steals. However, while he remains out, Markelle Fultz and Cole Anthony should continue to benefit statistically.

Tue Dec 6 202216:34Jalen Suggs Remains On The Sidelines With Ankle Issue
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) has been officially listed as out for the team's game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. Right now, his issue is listed as ankle soreness. The 21-year-old has already missed six consecutive games with this ankle injury and will at least miss a seventh. There haven't been many reports on a timetable for his return either. Since he's out, Markelle Fultz and Cole Anthony will likely take on the bulk of the minutes at point guard.

Sat Nov 5 202216:16Jalen Suggs Will Start Versus Kings
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs will start versus the Sacramento Kings. While Terrence Ross (knee) will return after missing one game with a knee contusion, Suggs will continue to receive additional work. The 21-year-old has averaged 16.7 points in his three appearances in the starting lineup this season, so he'll have plenty to offer fantasy managers on Saturday night.

Fri Nov 4 202209:25Jalen Suggs Puts Up Big Game Against Warriors
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs played a big part in the team's comeback win against the reigning champs. The 21-year-old finished with 26 points, nine assists, one rebound, and four steals while shooting 9-for-17 from the floor. This was only his second game back after an extended absence with an ankle sprain. After shaking off some rust last game, he was back to providing great value for both the Magic and for fantasy managers. He'll most likely see a lot of playing time as Cole Anthony is still on the mend as well.

Tue Nov 1 202218:55Jalen Suggs Active Tuesday, Will Come Off Bench
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) will play Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Suggs is the only healthy point guard on the roster, but the Magic have elected to bring him off the bench after a five-game absence. With Suggs back, Terence Ross and R.J. Hampton should take a hit in their minutes. There has been no report of a minutes restriction for Suggs so he should see a decent amount of minutes as the backup ball-handler.

Mon Oct 31 202221:56Jalen Suggs Listed As Questionable For Tuesday
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) is questionable to play Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Suggs, who suffered a sprained ankle on October 21st, has a chance to play after missing five straight games. The Magic are still missing Markelle Fultz (knee) and Cole Anthony (abdomen) so Suggs returning would be a welcome sight to their depleted roster. If Suggs is able to go, depending on Orlando's rotation, they will likely move Terrence Ross or Bol Bol to the bench. R.J. Hampton would also see a decrease in play time.

Sat Oct 22 202218:39Jalen Suggs Has MRI On Saturday
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) underwent an MRI on Saturday. The test confirmed that Suggs does have a sprained ankle. The Magic don't have a timetable for Suggs, so he'll likely depend on how his ankle responds to treatment. This sounds like it's going to be more than a standard day-to-day type of issue. Cole Anthony will move into the starting five for Saturday's game. The expectation is that Anthony will continue to start while Suggs is out. He should have increased fantasy value until Suggs is able to get back on the court.

Sat Oct 22 202214:46Jalen Suggs Ruled Out Saturday
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) will miss Saturday's clash with Boston after getting hurt Friday night. He managed to play just 16 minutes Friday against Atlanta, leaving the game with a right ankle sprain. Suggs' injury will likely elevate Cole Anthony to the starting five. He made his season debut off the bench Friday after recovering from an illness and produced a very good performance with 25 points in 28 minutes. Terrence Ross figures to get a bigger role offensively as well, and R.J. Hampton will be hopeful of logging more minutes.

Sat Oct 8 202223:34Jalen Suggs Avoids Serious Injury
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (knee) exited Friday's preseason bout against the Dallas Mavericks after colliding with Dorian Finney-Smith. The 21-year-old had to be assisted off the court and did not return. Fortunately, he avoided serious injury and was diagnosed with a left knee capsule sprain and a bone bruise. The former Gonzaga Bulldog averaged 11.8 points, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 steals in 48 games as a rookie in 2021-22. Yet, he shot a horrid 21.4% from deep while averaging 3.0 turnovers per contest. However, Suggs could improve in his sophomore campaign, especially with Markelle Fultz (toe) and Gary Harris (knee) expected to miss the start of the season.

Sat Oct 8 202211:36Jalen Suggs Is Without A Timetable
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (knee) suffered a significant injury during Friday's preseason matchup. The team is calling it left knee capsule sprain and bone bruise. They haven't given a timetable on Suggs, but he's expected to miss some time. The Magic are already without Markelle Fultz (toe), which is obviously frustrating. Cole Anthony will run the offense and see a significant boost in fantasy value right now. Possibly, R.J. Hampton gets more chances and holds some deep league value. Fantasy managers will have to stay tuned for more updates on Suggs.

Fri Oct 7 202221:12Jalen Suggs Exits With Knee Injury
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (knee) was forced to exit early during Friday's preseason game against the Dallas Mavericks. The young guard went down holding his knee and was helped to the locker room. This is very concerning especially for a player like Suggs who dealt with a ton of injuries last season. The team hasn't given much information yet, so everyone will have to wait to know the severity of the injury. Markelle Fultz (toe) is out as well, so Cole Anthony is going to get a ton of run, assuming Suggs misses time. Fantasy managers should get another update on Suggs shortly.

Mon Oct 3 202211:30NBA Draft Analysis: Second-Round Rookies to Watch Early for Fantasy Basketball
It's funny that every year at the NBA Draft, once the end of the guaranteed money and live appearances arrives at the end of the first round, everybody tunes out and refers to the 60th pick as "Mr. Irrelevant." That's not very accurate though, is it? Speaking historically, the title of "Mr. Irrelevant" could just as easily be applied to each pick in the draft, as organizations differ greatly in their evaluation of talent and their own needs, particularly in a year without the NCAA tournament. The nickname just doesn't reflect how basketball works anymore. Executives strategically stockpile second-round draft picks for the less burdensome financial obligations, and organizations in rebuilding mode get super creative to field a respectable team on a budget.Particularly in the NBA where worldwide talent is plentiful and positional lines continue to fade, opportunity is everything: in the right situation, the right under-the-radar player can make an immediate, poignant statement. With professional development leagues for 16-18-year-olds, an ever-expanding set of domestic/international opportunities due to the sheer growth of basketball, and widespread NIL rights for college athletes, players of all levels and localities are starting to get their due exposure and now have enough freedom to hone their skills in a place, and at a pace, that fits best with their path to the NBA.Plus, I am inherently skeptical and distrusting of scouting from the high school level to pre-Draft. That's why in this annual article, I tend to favor overlooked college players (love the mid-majors/non-power conferences) with either well-rounded, polished games, or specific statistical specialties. We are going to discuss a handful of 2022 second-round picks and undrafted free agent signees who, given their individual skillsets and circumstances, warrant the attention of Fantasy Basketball Managers as potential high-impact rookies for the 2022-23 campaign who can quietly be acquired on clearance once they start showing signs of emergence. ... Tue May 3 202218:40Jalen Suggs Has Successful Surgery
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) is expected to make a full recovery after undergoing surgery on Monday. He needed surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right ankle. Sadly, the rookie guard was only able to play in 45 games due to multiple injuries. The organization believes Suggs will be fully healthy by the time training camp begins. He might not be someone worth targeting on draft day, but we'll wait and see what the Magic do this offseason.

Sat Apr 9 202217:23Cole Anthony, Jalen Suggs Will Miss Season Finale
Orlando Magic point guard Cole Anthony (toe) and shooting guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) have been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. Miami, ending their season. After a strong start to the season, Anthony averaged just 13 PPG during the second half, while Suggs was largely beset with injuries over the season's final month-plus. Without the duo in the mix Sunday, Markelle Fultz and R.J. Hampton figure to see sizable minutes totals. Anthony concludes the year having averaged 16.3 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.4 boards, while Suggs scuffled from the field in his rookie campaign, shooting 36.1% overall and 21.4% from behind the arc. Both figure to factor prominently in Orlando's backcourt for at least the 2022-23 season.

Tue Apr 5 202217:46Jalen Suggs Returning On Tuesday Night
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) will return on Tuesday night against Cleveland. With Orlando having nothing left to play for this season, it's surprising to see Suggs back in the lineup after he missed the last 10 games because of a bone bruise in his right ankle. However, he will see the floor and reclaim his spot in the starting lineup, which won't do R.J. Hampton any favors. Cole Anthony (toe) and Wendell Carter Jr. (wrist) are both out, so there's a strong chance Suggs could finish as the team's leading scorer or at least see a boost in fantasy production.

Mon Apr 4 202222:14Jalen Suggs Questionable Again On Tuesday
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (foot) is questionable ahead of the upcoming matchup versus Cleveland. Suggs has been out the last 10 games because of a bone bruise in his right ankle. Cole Anthony (toe), who played only three minutes on Sunday against the Knicks, and Franz Wagner (ankle) are also questionable, so Mo Bamba, Moritz Wagner, and Markelle Fultz will benefit if any of those guys are out. There's also room for Ignas Brazdeikis to remain involved.

Thu Mar 31 202217:39Jalen Suggs To Remain Sidelined For Friday's Game
Orlando Magic point guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Toronto Raptors. This will be the ninth consecutive missed game for the rookie, who is hampered by a bone bruise in his right ankle. Second-year guard R.J. Hampton has taken Suggs' place in the starting lineup. Hampton has regularly seen around 25-30 minutes per game lately, but he has been mostly underwhelming statistically. He's averaging just 7.1 points per game this month while shooting 38.0% from the field. Suggs' next chance to return will be on Sunday against the New York Knicks.

Sat Mar 26 202212:19Jalen Suggs Remains Out Versus Sacramento
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) won't play against Sacramento on Saturday. This will mark Sugg's sixth consecutive absence as he continues to be plagued by a bone bruise in his right ankle. Without him, R.J. Hampton, who has averaged 8.3 points, 3.3 boards, 2.9 assists, and 1.1 steals throughout eight starts this season, will likely continue to fill the void.

Mon Mar 21 202222:37Jalen Suggs Sitting Out Again On Tuesday
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (ankle) won't play against the Warriors on Tuesday night. This will be his fourth-straight absence as he continues to work his way back from a bruised ankle. Nonetheless, without Suggs in the lineup, R.J. Hampton will likely take his place. This season, Hampton has averaged nearly eight points throughout six starts, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect much out of him. Instead, Markelle Fultz, who will likely come off the bench, should be the targeted fantasy option, although his presence in any lineup carries some risk.
