With professional development leagues for 16-18-year-olds, an ever-expanding set of domestic/international opportunities due to the sheer growth of basketball, and widespread NIL rights for college athletes, players of all levels and localities are starting to get their due exposure and now have enough freedom to hone their skills in a place, and at a pace, that fits best with their path to the NBA.

According to C.J. Holmes of The San Francisco Chronicle, the Golden State Warriors are pleased with the play of forward Jonathan Kuminga during the preseason thus far. "He's just more at peace with himself, embracing the coaching more," said head coach Steve Kerr. "He's just doing a great job of staying poised through his mistakes, and he's really been aggressive." The 2021 No. 7 overall pick was expected to take a giant leap forward last year. However, that didn't happen. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo, the Warriors and Pacers discussed a deal surrounding Jonathan Kuminga and the No. 7 pick ahead of Thursday's NBA Draft. However, nothing came of it. The 20-year-old has appeared in 137 games in his two seasons in the league, averaging 9.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists, far below expectations. But it seems there remains a good chance Kuminga won't stay in Golden State, although a change of scenery may do him some good, especially if it opens up the door for consistent playing time. Dynasty managers should hold on to him for now, considering his stock may increase if he gets moved in the coming weeks.

Without question, Golden State has to look long and hard at its roster this offseason, especially with the new CBA looming. But fantasy managers could benefit if Kuminga landed elsewhere in 2023-24, especially if he cracks a starting lineup or receives more minutes from off the bench. Dynasty managers should hold for now, although he's an excellent buy-low option for those in a rebuilding phase.

This doesn't come as much of a surprise considering Kuminga was probable heading into this game. He'll be asked to help pick up the slack with Andre Iguodala (wrist) sidelined.
