Thu Sep 28 202306:00Fantasy Basketball Instant Reaction: Damian Lillard Trade
Well, it finally happened. For the first time in 11 years, Damian Lillard is no longer a Trailblazer. On Wednesday, the nearly three-month saga that held NBA news hostage all summer came to an abrupt halt after Lillard was astonishingly acquired by the Milwaukee Bucks. It was a blockbuster three-team deal that included the Phoenix Suns, nine total players, one first-round pick, and one pick swap. Here is the full breakdown of the trade and my analysis of how it will affect the NBA in 2023-2024 and fantasy basketball.

The Trade

The Bucks receive - Damian LillardThe Blazers receive - Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, Bucks' 2029 first-round pick, Bucks' pick swapThe Suns receive - Jusuf Nurkic, Nassir Little, Keon Johnson, ... [More]
Wed Jul 12 202310:03Shaedon Sharpe Puts Up 26 Points In Win Over Hornets
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Shaedon Sharpe was his side's top scorer with 26 points as the team beat Charlotte 97-93 in the Las Vegas Summer League on Tuesday. After getting limited to just nine points by the Spurs a couple of days ago, Sharpe produced an 8-for-17 effort from the field with 2-for-4 shooting from deep and went 8-for-11 with his free throws. The 20-year-old also managed to pull down four rebounds and dished out two assists while picking up one steal. Sharpe is set to enter his sophomore campaign in the NBA after enjoying a solid rookie year. His role should only continue to grow on the team, with the Blazers reportedly considering him untouchable in trade talks.

Sat Jul 8 202300:25Shaedon Sharpe Fills Box Score On Friday
Portland Trail Blazers swingman Shaedon Sharpe collected 21 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks, and three three-pointers over 32 minutes during Friday's 100-99 loss to the Houston Rockets. He shot 7-for-21 from the field and four of five from the charity stripe. We witnessed similar stat lines out of Sharpe during the close of the most recent regular season. In 10 starting opportunities to end 2022-2023, the 20-year-old amassed 23.7 points, 6.1 boards, 4.1 dimes, and 3.1 threes across 35.9 minutes per game. Sharpe's fantasy arrow has a chance to soar this offseason if Portland ultimately satisfies Damian Lillard's trade request. The 2022 No. 7 overall pick should be tentatively ranked as a late-rounder for now, but that could change before draft season begins.

Wed Jun 7 202319:50Shaedon Sharpe Appears To Be Off-Limits
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe appears to be off-limits in recent trade talks. The organization is reportedly open to moving the third overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. However, Sharpe is off-limits in any trade discussions as the Blazers believe he has the potential to be an All-Star. Sharpe mainly played a limited role during his rookie season, but played really well towards the end of the season. Damian Lillard has made it clear he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild. The Blazers don't seem willing to move Sharpe, so we'll see what other trade pieces the team has to offer this offseason to help build a contender.

Wed May 31 202320:05Blazers Believe In Shaedon Sharpe
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe surprised many with his performance this past season. The rookie guard averaged 9.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 22.2 minutes per game in 80 contests. The Blazers believe that Sharpe has All-Star potential, which might be true. The 20-year-old played extremely well for the Blazers down the stretch of the season. It seems unlikely that the Blazers would be willing to move Sharpe unless it's for a superstar player in return. It sounds like Sharpe has a bright future ahead of him in Portland.

Mon Apr 10 202309:57Shaedon Sharpe Ready To Start Next Season
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Shaedon Sharpe has announced that he feels like he's ready to be a starter next season. He said it in his exit interview after the 19-year-old had completed his rookie campaign with an 18-point effort in a 157-101 loss to Golden State. He also had seven rebounds and four assists in the game with one steal. With a number of players dropping out of the lineup, Sharpe was able to finish the season as a starter and had 15 games in total in the starting unit. He put up 18.5 points in these outings with 4.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists. These are very good numbers, but Sharpe made only one start next to Damian Lillard, so there's no guarantee that he can keep up the same productivity if he indeed breaks into the starting lineup for the 2023-24 campaign.

Thu Apr 6 202315:14Shaedon Sharpe Could Miss Thursday's Action
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Shaedon Sharpe (knee) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Spurs. The 19-year-old is on the injury report with left knee tendinopathy and might have to sit out Thursday's action after putting together a very impressive run of performances. With Portland missing multiple players, Sharpe has become the first option on the team, averaging 24.1 points across the last eight games. Shaquille Harrison is a strong candidate to step into the starting unit Thursday if Sharpe is out and could be an intriguing option for fantasy managers, with the Blazers very short of options.

Sun Apr 2 202322:52Shaedon Sharpe Has Another Strong Performance
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe posted his second consecutive game of 27 points on Sunday while leading the team to a two-point upset win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The rookie added six rebounds, six assists, and just one turnover to his 27 points on 9-for-19 shooting. Two of his made shots were from deep and he also threw in seven of nine free throws. Over the last two weeks, Sharpe has produced enough to be a top 70 fantasy asset and his value keeps growing in dynasty leagues.

Thu Mar 30 202312:13Shaedon Sharpe Collects New Career-High In Losing Effort
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe posted another new career-high in points during their blowout loss to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. The rookie wing posted 30 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and one block while shooting 10-for-27 from the floor and 6-for-13 from beyond the arc. Sharpe is going to get as much work as possible down the stretch since Damian Lillard has been shut down for the remainder of the season. The only issue is that Sharpe has been very sporadic from a fantasy standpoint.

Thu Oct 27 202210:14Shaedon Sharpe Has Career Game In Loss
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe put up a new high in his young career. While getting extended minutes, he put up 15 points, eight rebounds and one steal on 5-for-12 shooting and 2-for-5 from beyond the arc. In each game, he has continued to grow more and more. As his confidence grows, his minutes have started to increase. With Anfernee Simons struggling so far and with not too much guard depth, Sharpe is likely to get more opportunities. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues should look to add him soon, while others might be able to wait and see how he develops over the next week or so.
