Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Lewis Thorpe (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a left shoulder impingement, the team announced in a press release. Thorpe had been recalled to the team prior to Wednesday's game and got the start against Cleveland, but exited in the second inning after experiencing pain in his shoulder. He's made three starts and one relief appearance with the Twins this season, going 0-2 with a 4.70 ERA, 1.370 WHIP and six strikeouts over 15 1/3 innings of work. He should not be rostered in any redraft formats.

He was visited on the mound in the second inning by the team's head athletic trainer, then removed from the game after that. His final line for the day was 1 1/3 innings, one hit, three walks, two earned runs and one strikeout. Thorpe had been building his arm back up from a shoulder injury lately. We don't know if Wednesday's injury is related, but if it is, the team will likely be cautious with him over the next few weeks.
