The Nats dealt Perez to the Bucs back in June, but he was returned on Tuesday in a minor swap and will report to Double-A Harrisburg. Perez, 27, is batting .269/.321/.346 in 28 plate appearances this year down on the farm. | ||||||

Perez, 27, hasn't appeared in the majors since 2005 as a member of the Reds. He has a .270/.323/.343 batting line over parts of 10 seasons in the minor leagues. The Pirates are short on help behind the plate right now, so he will presumably serve as depth at the Double-A or Triple-A level. | ||||||
