RHP Tyler Cravy was outrighted to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Friday, clearing room on the 40-man roster for Rob Scahill to return to the team. One of the team's final cuts out of spring training, Cravy was called up May 21 but never appeared in a game as the Brewers' scheduled contest with the Cubs that night was rained out. He's made 21 appearances for Colorado Springs this season, going 4-2 with a 5.06 ERA.

Cravy will start against the Cubs on Tuesday.

The Brewers have decided to shut down Jimmy Nelson (head) for the rest of the season and that decision should open up some opportunities for Cravy, starting Tuesday. The righty has made 11 appearances on the season which have resulted in an ERA of 6.42 after a total of 33.2 innings.

Cravy (shoulder) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Sunday.

Cravy will be available out of the bullpen for Sunday's series finale against the Reds, but with the Brewers turning their eye toward identifying future starting candidates, it wouldn't be surprising if he received another shot in the rotation before the season draws to a close. The 26-year-old has made six appearances (five starts) for Milwaukee this season, going 0-5 with a 6.67 ERA and 1.74 WHIP over 27 innings.

Cravy's (shoulder) bullpen session went "really well" according to manager Craig Counsell, and he's expected to join the bullpen Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Cravy's shoulder issue continues to sideline him, but his return appears just around the corner. Although he started five games for the Brewers earlier in the season, he will pitch out of the bullpen this time around.

Cravy (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Tuesday and will toss another Thursday, Tom Haudricourt of the Journal Sentinel reports. The hope is that Cravy will be able to come off the DL on Friday.

Cravy has struggled mightily in limited major league action this season, and he was placed on the DL with a shoulder impingement following his latest rough outing. The 26-year-old could be back with Milwaukee as early as the end of the week, but whether he'll return to the rotation remains to be seen.

Cravy (shoulder) has begun playing catch and may not require much more than the minimum 15 days before being activated from the disabled list, Andrew Gruman of the BBWA reports.

Cravy was placed on the disabled list one day after a disappointing start on Aug. 18 when it was discovered that the young right-hander was dealing with a shoulder impingement. He'll assume a role out of the bullpen once he comes off the disabled list.
