The Braves sent Gil outright to High-A Carolina on Friday.

Gil was added to the Braves' 40-man roster last November with the team looking to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, but his numbers in 11 starts for Carolina this season have not inspired confidence (1-8, 6.84 ERA, 1.77 WHIP). Now off the 40-man, he will likely need to show improvement to avoid a move back down to Low-A Rome.
