Garvin was moved to the 60-day DL on Wednesday, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.
The Rays needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for J.P. Arencibia, who was called up Wednesday, so Garvin will move to the 60-day DL, as arm issues continue to plague him. The left-hander is not expected to pitch again this season, and he could be slated for another procedure this offseason after previously undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Garvin is unlikely to pitch in the 2015 season due to additional arm issues, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
There's no sugarcoating it, this is pretty bad news for Garvin's long-term outlook to eventually stick in the big leagues. He's already had Tommy John surgery, and the Rays forgoing around three months of possible play time means they could be trying to avoid additional surgery, which would be disastrous.

Garvin is scheduled to begin the season at Triple-A Durham.
The Rays optioned him to Triple-A in mid-March. The former first-rounder may remain stretched out as a starter with the Bulls, as he carried a 60:15 K:BB and 3.77 ERA over 20 starts with Double-A Montgomery last season.
