Mon Apr 2216:14Jose Siri Back In Rays Lineup Monday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri (kidneys) is back in center field and is hitting eighth on Monday against the visiting Detroit Tigers and left-hander Tarik Skubal after missing two of the three games over the weekend due to kidney stones. It's good to see the 28-year-old back in action, but his low spot in Tampa's batting order and his slow start to the year make him a tough sell in DFS lineups in a touch matchup against Skubal. Siri has gone 1-for-23 with 12 strikeouts in his last seven games and is hitting .188 (13-for-69) with a home run, five RBI and six stolen bases in his first 22 games played in 2024. On top of it, Siri has gone hitless in his first four career at-bats against Skubal.

Mon Apr 2200:16Jose Siri Doesn't Play Sunday Due To Kidney Stones
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri is considered day-to-day after missing Sunday's game due to kidney stones. Siri was at the hospital on Sunday getting treatment, so he was unable to play in the Rays game against the New York Yankees. Siri got off to a pretty good start to the season, but he is now mired in an 0-for-15 slump during which he has struck out 10 times. Outside of stolen bases and the occasional homer, Siri doesn't provide much value to fantasy managers and can be safely left on waivers outside of deep leagues.

Fri Mar 809:18Jose Siri Knocks In A Pair
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri went 1-for-2 with two RBI versus the Philadelphia Phillies in Thursdays Grapefruit League contest. Siri is now hitting .154 with one homer, five RBI and two stolen bases in his first 13 spring at-bats. Siri had his first breakthrough season in the big leagues in 2023 with a .222 average to go along with 25 homers, 56 RBI and 12 stolen bases in just 338 at-bats. With Manuel Margot out of the picture, Siri should see more at-bats in the upcoming season. Although he was streaky last season, the power and speed combination at an ADP of 258 is hard to come by. The Rays seemingly get the best out of their talent every year and Siri is worth a strong look in mixed leagues and five outfielder leagues with potential to help in multiple categories at a cheap cost.

Wed Oct 4 202312:12Jose Siri On The Bench For Game 2
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri finds himself on the bench for Game 2 of the wild-card series against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday. Josh Lowe enters the starting lineup in right field and will bat cleanup against Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, while Manuel Margot is patrolling center field and batting in the six-hole. Siri is coming off a fractured hand that put him on the injured list in September, and he was 0-for-3 in the Game 1 loss to Texas on Tuesday. Margot has two singles and a strikeout in his seven career at-bats against Eovaldi. The 29-year-old Dominican provided very modest numbers for fantasy managers in 2023 with a .264 average (82-for-311) with just four home runs, 38 RBI, nine stolen bases and 39 runs scored.

Tue Sep 12 202315:59Jose Siri Placed On 10-Day Injured List By Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder Jose Siri (hand) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a right-hand fracture and recalled outfielder Curtis Mead from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move. Siri and the team are optimistic that he can return in three weeks and for the postseason. The 28-year-old kept saying "maybe two weeks" when the media spoke with him on Monday. Siri suffered a small fracture in his hand on Monday night against the Minnesota Twins after getting hit by a pitch. The bottom line is that Siri is unlikely to contribute to fantasy lineups the rest of the way in 2023. Until he's able to return, Luke Raley is expected to see the majority of starts in center field for the Rays.

Tue Sep 12 202300:06Jose Siri Fractures Right Hand Monday
Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said Monday that outfielder Jose Siri (hand) fractured his right hand in the team's 7-4 win over the Twins. Siri was hit by a pitch on his hand, and while he stayed in to run the bases, he was eventually replaced by Vidal Brujan. Cash said that Siri could return in about three weeks, essentially ending his fantasy season. This is a shame, as the 28-year-old had provided power and speed, slashing .222/.267/.494 with 25 home runs, 56 RBI, and 12 stolen bases. Fantasy managers will want to look beyond Brujan for replacements, as he has hit just .178 in 81 plate appearances this season.

Mon Sep 11 202322:51Jose Siri Leaves After Hit By Pitch Monday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri (hand) left Monday night's game against the Minnesota Twins after being hit by a pitch on his hand. Siri looked to be in serious pain and stayed in to run the bases before eventually leaving the contest. He did give a thumbs up before leaving the dugout, but Siri will probably undergo X-rays to rule out any breaks in his hand. Vidal Brujan entered the game in the outfield for Tampa after Siri left. Before leaving, the 28-year-old went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored to raise his season average to .222 and OPS to .761. Siri entered Monday's contest hitting .220/.264/.494 with 25 home runs, 55 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 57 runs scored in 336 at-bats. Check back for updates on Siri's condition and whether he'll be forced to miss any additional time.

Fri Aug 18 202319:36Jose Siri Out With Injury Friday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri (finger) is out of the starting lineup on Friday with the team taking on the Los Angeles Angels. Even with Tampa having an off day on Thursday, Siri will take an extra day to rest after suffering a minor left-pinkie sprain during a slide into second base on Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants. Check back to see if he's good to go on Saturday. Luke Raley is starting in center field and batting fifth against Angels left-hander Tyler Anderson. Siri has been useful for his power (career-high 23 home runs), but he's hitting just .219 (61-for-278) with a .259 on-base percentage in 82 games in 2023. Raley has a nice power/speed profile, but he's gone just 6-for-29 with two of his 17 long balls against lefties this year.

Wed Aug 16 202321:24Jose Siri Dealing With Minor Injury
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri (finger) was forced to exit early during Wednesday's game against the San Francisco Giants. The 28-year-old injured his finger while sliding into second base and was removed from the contest. Luckily, the X-rays were negative, so Siri is only dealing with a left pinky finger sprain. Manager Kevin Cash said that Siri shouldn't require a lengthy absence from this injury. At the moment, fantasy managers should consider Siri as day-to-day.

Wed Aug 16 202318:17Jose Siri Exits Early On Wednesday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri (hand) was forced to exit early during Wednesday's game against the San Francisco Giants. It sounds like the 28-year-old suffered a hand injury while sliding into second base. The Rays decided to replace Siri with Luke Raley to begin the sixth inning. At the moment, it sounds like Siri was removed as a precaution and he should be considered as day-to-day. Fantasy managers will have to check back for another update on his status.

Fri Aug 11 202316:05Jose Siri Sitting Out Friday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri is not in the starting lineup on Friday as the team faces off against the visiting Cleveland Guardians. In his absence, Josh Lowe will return after getting a day off on Thursday to start in center field and bat eighth against Guardians right-hander Xzavion Curry. Siri is hitting just .216 (57-for-264) on the season, so he hasn't been of help for his average or on-base percentage (.258) in fantasy leagues in 2023, but his power has been useful (23 long balls). The 28-year-old Dominican has also driven in 48 runs, stolen seven bases and scored 45 runs. Although he has three home runs in eight games (six starts) so far in the month of August, Siri has just four hits in 25 at-bats with 12 strikeouts.

Sat Jun 24 202313:55Jose Siri Belts 13th Homer, Tallies Four RBI
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and an additional RBI and run scored in Friday's 11-3 beatdown of the Kansas City Royals. The 27-year-old has lost some playing time with Manuel Margot swinging a hot bat recently, but Siri is maintaining fantasy relevance despite limited action. Overall, he is hitting .240 with 29 runs scored, 13 big flies, 33 RBI, and seven stolen bases across 154 at-bats, good enough for borderline top-12 fantasy OF roto value (min. 74 ABs). Siri went deep just seven times over 301 ABs in 2022. The speedy center fielder supplies great defense, but his 90th-percentile .517 xSLG supports Siri's offensive breakout. Give Siri a look if he's available in your league for a compelling mix of power and speed in a dynamic Rays lineup.

Sun Jun 18 202314:49Jose Siri Getting The Day Off Sunday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri is not in the lineup for Sunday's contest with Joe Musgrove and the San Diego Padres. The speedy center fielder is batting just .222 this year but has gone deep 12 times and swiped seven bags over 43 games. Manuel Margot will get the start in the outfield instead and bat seventh. The 28-year-old is batting .259 this year with three bombs and seven steals. However, Margot's batting .250 this season and .243 over his career against right-handers, so with righty Musgrove on the hill, fantasy managers may want to look elsewhere for a streaming option.

Sun Jun 4 202313:09Jose Siri Scratched From The Lineup On Sunday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri was scratched from Sunday's series finale against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. Siri was on the original lineup card, starting in center field and batting seventh but was removed. Manuel Margot is now starting in center field and batting seventh in his place. The team has not released a statement as to why Siri was pulled but we should find out shortly.

Mon May 29 202321:14Jose Siri Goes Hitless Monday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in a 1-0 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Monday. Siri's hitless afternoon drops his batting average to .243 to go along with an .855 OPS, nine homers, 21 runs, 20 RBI, and five steals across 103 at-bats. Despite the slow afternoon at the plate on Monday, Siri has been swinging a hot bat of late, hitting .293 with three homers and six RBI over his past seven games. Overall, the 27-year-old's blend of power and speed has made him a productive fantasy asset for managers this season.

Tue Apr 25 202314:11Jose Siri Activated, Taj Bradley Sent To Triple-A
The Tampa Bay Rays activated outfielder Jose Siri (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list and also optioned impressive rookie starting pitcher Taj Bradley back to Triple-A Durham on Tuesday. The Rays also optioned outfield Vidal Brujan to the minors. The move to send Bradley to the minors was in big part to transition him to a five-day schedule as part of his continued development. It will also give Yonny Chirinos and Josh Fleming more starting opportunities. The 22-year-old Bradley looks like the real deal and should remain stashed in dynasty/keeper and AL-only leagues after striking out 23 in his first 15 1/3 MLB innings. Siri, 27, should be Tampa's regular center fielder now that he's recovered from a right hamstring strain he suffered over two weeks ago.

Sat Apr 22 202310:00Jose Siri Begins Rehab Assignment Friday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri (hamstring) began his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Friday. He started as the designated hitter and went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts out of the two-hole for the Bulls. "The plan is for an off day the next day, then play Sunday, and then we'll go from there," Rays manager Kevin Cash said. Meanwhile, reliever Ryan Thompson (lat), who landed on the injured list on April 15, is expected back soon after he's eligible. Barring a setback this weekend, Siri should return to the Rays starting lineup at some point next week. The 27-year-old had gone 7-for-22 (.318) with two home runs, eight RBI and a steal in six games before his injury. Pick him up now if he was dropped by his previous manager.

Wed Apr 19 202316:28Jose Siri Likely To Begin Rehab Assignment This Weekend
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri (hamstring) is likely headed to Triple-A Durham this weekend for a minor-league rehab assignment, and he could come off the injured list to rejoin the team sometime during the series against the Houston Astros, which begins on Monday, April 24. Siri has been out since landing on the 10-day injured list on April 8 with a strained right hamstring, but he had a solid workout on Wednesday and is on the cusp of returning to the big-league lineup. Before his injury, the 27-year-old outfielder had gone 7-for-22 (.318) with two doubles, two home runs, eight RBI, one stolen base and five runs scored in his first six games played. Siri should be a lineup regular when he's back, so make sure to scoop him off the waiver wire if he was dropped by his previous owner.

Tue Apr 18 202308:31Jose Siri Running At Full Speed
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri (hamstring) has made significant progress in his return to action, as he ran full speed on Monday. However, he still has to do some baserunning drills and get some at-bats on a rehab stint, so according to Marc Topkin, the 27-year-old is still a bit away from coming off the injured list. Before getting hurt, Siri was on a tear, slashing .318/.333/.682 with two homers, five runs, eight RBI, and one steal across six games. When he's back with the Rays, the speedster will try to continue to break out in his third season at the big league level.
