Wed Mar 609:53Ryan McMahon Enjoying A Strong Start To Spring
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon has been off to a nice start in the Cactus League with a .429 batting average to go along with four runs, one homer and two RBI. McMahon has been one of the few staples for the Rockies over the past few seasons and has hit a minimum of 20 homers, while playing 150 or more games during the past three seasons. Playing half of his games at Coors Field helps as his average is much higher there than on the road, but the power numbers have translated outside of the Rocky Mountains. McMahon isn't the sexiest name, but he's consistent and makes for a safe late-round option in upcoming drafts.

Sat Sep 30 202318:42Ryan McMahon To Sit Out On Saturday
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins. The 28-year-old will get a breather here, so his absence doesn't appear to be injured related. Alan Trejo will cover third base and bat eighth versus right-hander Emilio Pagan on Saturday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups with McMahon on the bench.

Wed Sep 20 202314:34Ryan McMahon Back In The Starting Lineup Wednesday
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon is back in the club's starting lineup for Wednesday afternoon's contest against the San Diego Padres and right-hander Seth Lugo. The 28-year-old didn't start Tuesday night's 2-0 shutout loss to the Friars but will return to hit fifth and man third base in Wednesday afternoon's series finale. For the season, McMahon has hit .244 with 23 home runs, five stolen bases, and a .770 OPS across 144 games, the fourth straight full season in which he has reached the 20-homer plateau. He will take on a pitcher enjoying a nice season as Lugo has worked to a solid 3.83 ERA in 24 starts while walking just 5.7% of the hitters he has faced.

Sat Aug 19 202311:09Ryan McMahon Goes Yard Again In Rout
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon went 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored in Friday's 14-1 rout of the Chicago White Sox. The 28-year-old crushed a fourth-inning three-run blast to make it a 9-1 ballgame and get the blowout fully underway. McMahon has now homered in back-to-back contests to recover from a brutal 2-for-32 swoon in the previous nine outings. The defensive-minded infielder remains on pace for his best season in slugging, slashing .252/.337/.470 with 21 four-baggers, 65 RBI, and five stolen bases across 490 plate appearances.

Fri Jun 16 202318:22Ryan McMahon Resting On Friday
Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon is out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves. This appears to be nothing more than a routine rest day for the left-handed slugger. He's slashing .271/.352/.494 with 10 home runs and 38 RBI in 67 games this season. Coco Montes will cover second base and bat eighth versus left-hander Jared Shuster on Friday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly with McMahon on the sideline.

Thu Jun 15 202300:17Ryan McMahon Delivers Two Hits Wednesday
Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon went 2-for-3 at the plate and added an RBI despite his team losing to Boston by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday. He temporarily put the Rockies in the lead during the sixth inning with an RBI double off starter Garrett Whitlock. However, Colorado's bullpen fell apart and they gave up the lead. Despite the Rockies' struggles, McMahon is having a solid season, carrying a .267 batting average, and he has smacked 10 homers while driving in 38 runs in 247 trips to the plate this season.

Sun May 28 202309:40Ryan McMahon Finding Power Stroke, Goes Deep Again
Colorado Rockies third baseman/second baseman Ryan McMahon went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer to help the team win a back-and-forth shootout on Saturday versus the New York Mets 10-7. The 28-year-old snapped an ice-cold 27-game homer-less skid in Friday's contest and has now gone yard in consecutive outings. McMahon has been virtually unplayable in fantasy away from Coors Field, hitting a paltry .178 (16-for-90) with just two bombs and seven RBI on the road. At home, however, the defensive-minded infielder is hitting a far more respectable .275 (25-for-91) with four blasts and 16 RBI. Fire McMahon up with confidence when he's playing at home, but it still doesn't leave him as much more than a borderline hold in shallow leagues being such a weak play half of the time.

Tue Apr 25 202314:27Ryan McMahon Returns To Tuesday's Lineup
Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon (illness) is back in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday against the Cleveland Guardians and right-hander Peyton Battenfield. McMahon is back at third base and is hitting cleanup for the Rockies. The 28-year-old was scratched from the lineup on Monday due to an illness, but he's feeling better and will play on Tuesday. Get him back into your starting lineups. McMahon is hitting just .238 (19-for-80) in the early going in 23 games, but he does have six doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI, a stolen base and 10 runs scored through 90 plate appearances this year. He's gone 10-for-39 (.256) with three doubles, a long ball and four RBI in his last 11 contests.

Mon Apr 24 202316:54Ryan McMahon Scratched On Monday
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon (illness) has been scratched from the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. It appears the left-handed slugger is dealing with a non-COVID related illness. His absence will mean that Mike Moustakas takes over third base and bats fifth against right-hander Cal Quantrill. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly with McMahon on the sidelined for at least one game.

Sat Apr 8 202300:22Ryan McMahon Knocks Dinger Friday
Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon belted his second home run in 2023 in a 10-5 loss to the Washington Nationals Friday. McMahon finished the game 1-for-4 striking out three times. The 28-year-old home run came off of Nationals pitcher MacKenzie Gore. Besides having two homers, McMahon is hitting 200/.273/.500 and has three RBI this season. He and the Rockies have Washington again on Saturday and will go against right-handed pitcher Trevor Williams.

Fri Mar 3 202314:35Ryan McMahon Likely To Move To 2B This Year
Colorado Rockies general manager Bill Schmidt said that the team will likely move infielder Ryan McMahon to second base with Brendan Rodgers (shoulder) potentially missing the entire 2023 season. Colorado will also look at Nolan Jones and Elehuris Montero at third base while keeping Kris Bryant in the outfield. Schmidt also didn't completely rule out a trade for more infield depth. The 28-year-old McMahon will see a boost to his fantasy value while regaining second base eligibility. Like many Rockies players, McMahon hits much better at Coors Field than on the road. He has clubbed 20-plus home runs in the last three full seasons, but he's best deployed in fantasy lineups when he has home cooking.

Fri Mar 3 202311:27Ryan McMahon Playing Second Base Friday
Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon is starting at second base and batting fifth in the Cactus League game on Friday against the San Francisco Giants, with Elehuris Montero at the hot corner. This could be the plan if Brendan Rodgers (shoulder) is forced to have season-ending surgery after dislocating his shoulder in a game earlier this week. Alan Trejo could also be an option at the keystone, but he will soon join Team Mexico for the World Baseball Classic. Nolan Jones could be an option at third base if McMahon becomes the team's primary second baseman. Harold Castro is another option for the keystone, so the Rockies clearly have options if Rodgers is lost for the entire 2023 campaign.

Wed Sep 14 202220:49Ryan McMahon Collects A Pair Of Hits Wednesday
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon had two hits in five at-bats during Wednesday's 3-0 shutout win over the Chicago White Sox. He also doubled and scored a run. McMahon's again putting up mediocre numbers, slashing .248/.333/.410 with 16 HRs, 60 runs, 62 RBI, and seven stolen bases over 135 games. His fantasy value has typically stemmed from his power and counting stats, but with a drop-off in those categories this year, he's more of a bench player than a starter.

Wed May 25 202220:17Ryan McMahon Doubles In Wednesday's Loss
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon had a couple of hits on Wednesday, including a double, in three at-bats. He also scored two runs and walked, but it wasn't enough to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, losing the contest 10-5. McMahon is having a fine season at the dish this year, slashing .261/.351/.412 with four home runs, 23 runs, 22 RBI, and no stolen bases across 42 games. McMahon has underrated fantasy value, hitting at least 23 home runs the last two full seasons and he should compile counting stats, batting in the middle of the Rockies lineup.

Wed Apr 27 202216:54Ryan McMahon Out Of The Lineup On Wednesday
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon is heading to the bench for Wednesday's game against left-hander Ranger Suarez and the Philadelphia Phillies. Alan Trejo will be covering third base and batting ninth in the game. McMahon drew three walks in the team's 10-3 blowout loss to the Phillies on Tuesday. He also reached base twice in Monday's game, so the Phillies should certainly be relieved to see him out of the lineup on Wednesday. McMahon is slashing .236/.354/.400 over 16 games this year with one home run, six doubles, eight RBI and seven runs. Expect to see him back on the field for Thursday's series finale.

Tue Apr 12 202221:41Ryan McMahon Dealing With Calf Soreness
Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon (calf) is sore after getting hit by a pitch in the calf during batting practice Monday and struck twice in Monday's win over the Texas Rangers. He was out of the lineup for Tuesday's contest and remains day-to-day. The 27-year-old's next chance to return will be Thursday, following the team's day off on Wednesday. McMahon is slashing .214/.353/.357 with an RBI over 17 plate appearances in 2022. Garrett Hampson drew the start at the hot corner and should see an uptick in at-bats while McMahon is sidelined.

Mon Mar 21 202214:39Ryan McMahon Signs Extension With Rockies
Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon has reportedly signed a six-year contract extension with the Colorado Rockies, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. Per Passan, the deal is worth $70 million. McMahon has been a regular for Colorado for the last three seasons. Able to play every infield position except for shortstop, McMahon hit .254 with a .331 on-base percentage, 23 home runs and six stolen bases in 596 plate appearances last season. With his versatility and ability to provide home runs and a few stolen bases for fantasy managers, the 27-year-old should continue to be a solid fantasy contributor.

Wed Nov 17 202115:46Ryan McMahon An Option At Shortstop
Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon appeared at three infield positions in 2021, playing stellar defense at first, second, and third base, but he might be tasked with playing shortstop in 2022. With Trevor Story's departure from the club a foregone conclusion, sliding McMahon over is one of several options the Rockies are considering. The 26-year-old was a Gold Glove finalist at the hot corner this past season. McMahon, who slashed .254/.331/.449 with 23 homers and six steals in 2021, would get a small bump in fantasy value with the added eligibility, but he wouldn't crack the top-10 at any one position.

Wed Sep 29 202122:11Ryan McMahon Blasts 23rd Home Run Of The Year
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon went 1-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored, a walk, and a strikeout in a 10-5 win over the Nationals on Wednesday. McMahon had a productive day at the plate despite only logging one hit. He smashed his 23rd home run of the year off Paolo Espino in the first inning, a three-run shot, to put the Rockies up 4-2. He also reached base with a walk, scored another run, and knocked in an insurance run with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the eighth inning. The 26-year-old is now slashing .254/.333/.452 with 23 home runs, 85 RBI, and six stolen bases over 515 at-bats on the year.

Tue Sep 28 202101:33Ryan McMahon Drives In Three Runs On Monday
Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon went 1-for-4 with a double, three RBI, one walk, a stolen base, and a strikeout in a 5-4 loss to the Washington Nationals on Monday. McMahon delivered the biggest hit of the day for the Rockies as he swatted a bases-loaded double off Josiah Gray, scoring three runs. It was his only hit of the ball game but he did reach once more with a walk and swiped his sixth bag of the season. The 26-year-old infielder is now slashing .254/.333/.448 with 22 home runs, 80 RBI, and six thefts over 507 at-bats this year.
