However, his output has dwindled since then as he's 0-for-10 over his last five games. On a positive note, he does have four walks, one stolen base, and just one strikeout during that span. We can't put a whole lot of stock into Spring Training performances, but it's still promising to see Varsho drawing walks at an 11.8 percent clip after turning in a career-worst 7.7 percent rate last season. He's started 150-plus games in each of the last two years and should remain an everyday player for the Jays in 2024.

The 26-year-old provides defensive versatility at catcher and in left field, but he's expected to be Toronto's regular left fielder in 2023. The power-speed combination and the move to one of the better lineups in baseball have skyrocketed Varsho's fantasy value heading into next season.

The 26-year-old Varsho should see significant time in the outfield with the move to Toronto, and the move to the American League East and a very hitter-friendly ballpark in a potent offense will all add to Varsho's fantasy appeal heading into next season. He hit .235/.302/.443 with 27 home runs, 74 RBI, 79 runs scored and 16 stolen bases in 531 at-bats in his first full big-league season in Arizona in 2022. He will still have catcher eligibility in 2022, but he'll likely lose it going into 2024. Still, Varsho's power/speed combination in Toronto's dangerous lineup looks extremely appealing in fantasy moving forward.

Arizona Diamondbacks catcher/outfielder Daulton Varsho is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the San Francisco Giants. The 26-year-old looks to just be getting a day off but should be available as a pinch-hitter in this one. Varsho has put together an excellent season, slashing .238/.306/.452 with 27 home runs, 73 RBI, and 14 stolen bases across 513 at-bats for the D-Backs.

Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Ketel Marte (hamstring) and outfielder/catcher Daulton Varsho (jaw) both left Sunday's game against the Colorado Rockies early due to injuries. Marte exited with left hamstring tightness after running the bases in the ninth inning. Manager Torey Lovullo said the team is hoping it's nothing serious and that Marte will return to the starting lineup soon. Varsho was hit in the jaw by a baseball that was tossed to him as the outfielders were running into the dugout between innings. Lovullo said Varsho could have continued playing but he was removed as a precautionary measure. It sounds like both players should be available for fantasy managers soon, but it remains to be seen if they'll be available for the doubleheader against the San Francisco Giants on Monday.

Arizona Diamondbacks catcher/outfielder Daulton Varsho had a big day at the dish on Friday, going 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored. Over his last 15 games, the 26-year-old has posted a .908 OPS with three home runs. The hot stretch has brought Varsho's sash line to .239/.305/.423, and he's added 13 HRs, 42 runs, 46 RBI, and five stolen bases. He hasn't produced as much value as fantasy managers had hoped, especially in the stolen base department, but he remains one of the better catcher options in all formats.

Varsho is one of the top fantasy catchers in 2022, slashing .266/.337/.481 with a .818 OPS, eight home runs, 21 RBI, 24 runs scored, and three stolen bases in 178 plate appearances. Pavin Smith replaced him in the lineup and batted second on Saturday. Smith is worth picking up as a streamer after collecting a hit if five of his last six games.
