Jagielo may require arthroscopic knee surgery after injuring it sliding into home on June 16, SB Nation's Scott Davis reports.

The team is currently getting a second opinion, but Jagielo will definitely be out a while, and he could miss the rest of the season. This could not have come at a worse time for Jagielo, who was slashing .284/.347/.495 prior to the injury. He is really going to have to hit to make it as a big-league regular, as he may end up profiling best at first base. Now that he is out indefinitely it will be tough for him to crack the top-200 prospect list until he can return and regain his prior form at the plate.

Jagielo, 23, is slashing .288/.353/.500 with nine home runs and 35 RBI through 55 games for Double-A Trenton.

Jagielo is on pace to post the best numbers of his career in 2015. However, it remains to be seen whether those statistics will make him the future third-baseman for the Yankees. His career-high in home runs is only 18 in the minors, and Jagielo is still striking out too much.

Jagielo, 23, is batting .302/.389/.554 with seven home runs and 27 RBI through 37 games for Double-A Trenton.

Jagielo is hitting .342 over his last 10 games. Unfortunately, the high batting average may be a mirage; Jagielo has never hit above .264 for any year since entering the minors in 2013. Still, he has 20 extra base hits thus far in 2015, while also drawing 16 walks in 139 at-bats.

Jagielo, 22, is slashing .265/.339/.541 with five home runs and 20 RBI through 26 games for Double-A Trenton.

Jagielo battled some injury issues last season, but still hit 18 home runs in 92 games, mostly at High-A. He is still striking out a bit too much, fanning 29 times in 26 contests this season.
