Nunez is posting production that's far below average for his level, but since he's about a year and a half younger than most hitters in the Sally League, he can't be written off as a potential big leaguer just yet. The 2013 sixth-rounder was viewed as a long-term project when he was selected out of high school, and that's been further reinforced by the Rockies' decision to develop him as a catcher. Though he has yet to show much power this season, Nunez's excellent 9.2 percent walk rate gives him at least one skill to accentuate his value. |
