The Atlanta Braves signed infielder Joshua Fuentes to a minor-league deal on Saturday. Fuentes did not play at all in the big leagues in 2022. He began the year with Triple-A Buffalo in the Toronto Blue Jays' system, hitting .162/.205/.200 with a homer and five RBI in 29 games before playing in the Mexican independent league the rest of the year. The 29-year-old will simply be trying to impress in spring training, but he's likely to begin the 2023 campaign in the minors as infield depth for the Braves. Fuentes has played in three seasons in the majors and has hit .243/.269/.377 with a .646 OPS, 12 home runs, 57 RBI, 52 runs scored and two stolen bases in 149 games for the Colorado Rockies. He won't enter the 2023 season on the fantasy radar.

Thu Jul 29 202119:23Josh Fuentes Optioned To Triple-A On Thursday
Colorado Rockies infielder Josh Fuentes has been optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque along with right-handed pitcher Jesus Tinoco. Both players were part of a corresponding move as pitchers Jose Mujica (recalled) and the recently acquired Ashton Goudeau (activated) join the big league roster. Fuentes had a few bright moments earlier this season but ultimately wasn't able to contribute on a consistent basis. He'll most likely make a return to the big league club later on this season. He currently holds a .228/.261/.357 batting line to go along with seven home runs, 32 RBI, and 30 runs scored over 263 at-bats. He can be safely dropped in redraft leagues.
