SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers activated outfielder Cody Bellinger from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday before playing the finale of a three-game series against the San Diego Padres. Bellinger, the 2019 NL MVP, started in center field and batted cleanup as the Dodgers tried to avoid being swept. Bellinger missed seven games with tightness in his left hamstring during his second stint on the IL this season. He missed 46 games after suffering a hairline fracture in his left leg on April 5. He is hitting .226 with one homer and 10 RBIs in 16 games. LOS ANGELES (AP) — First baseman Max Muncy is going on the Los Angeles Dodgers' injured list with a right oblique muscle strain. The Dodgers recalled outfielder Luke Raley on Saturday night to take the roster spot of Muncy, who left Friday's game in the second inning with the defending World Series champions' latest significant injury woe. Muncy hit his 14th homer of the season in the first inning of the series opener against the Texas Rangers, but was replaced by Albert Pujols shortly afterward. Muncy is batting .264 with 33 RBIs in 60 games this season for Los Angeles. Before his oblique injury, he had been struggling with an injured right ankle since getting hurt June 4 in Atlanta. Outfielder Cody Bellinger also left Friday's game with left hamstring tightness, and he wasn't in the Dodgers' starting lineup Saturday. TORONTO (AP) — Right-hander Anthony Bass and the Toronto Blue Jays agreed to a $1.5 million, one-year contract Monday that avoided salary arbitration.Toronto declined to offer contracts to right-hander Derek Law and catcher Luke Maile, allowing the pair to become free agents rather than have them be eligible for arbitration.Three Blue Jays remain eligible for arbitration: closer Ken Giles, second baseman Brandon Drury and right-hander Matt Shoemaker.Toronto also didn’t offer a contract to right-hander Jason Adam, who was not eligible for arbitration.Bass was 2-4 with a 3.56 ERA in 44 relief appearances for Seattle last season, then was claimed off waivers by Toronto on Oct. 29. A veteran of eight major league seasons, he also has pitched for San Diego (2011-13), Texas (2015) and the Chicago Cubs (2018). He spent 2016 in Japan with the Pacific League’s Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.Toronto also agreed to minor league contracts with Canadian right-hander Phillippe Aumont along with right-handers A.J. Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Marco Estrada was activated from the disabled list and will start Friday's game against the Seattle Mariners.Estrada was placed on the disabled list July 6 due to lower back soreness. The Blue Jays also activated Franklin Morales (shoulder) from the DL and optioned left-hander Aaron Loup and infielder Andy Burns to Triple-A Buffalo.Estrada, 33, was named to the American League All-Star team but missed the game due to his injury. He has a 5-3 record to go with a solid 2.93 ERA and AL-best 0.99 WHIP, and is holding opponents to a major league-low .173 average. Morales has appeared in just two games this season due to his injury.
