Wed Jul 1001:48Alex Bregman Smacks Go-Ahead Home Run Tuesday Night
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman smacked a two-run go-ahead home run Tuesday night and pitched in an RBI single in a close 4-3 win versus the Miami Marlins. As the summer months are heating up so is Bregman's bat. The 30-year-old veteran was looking like he was headed for a miserable season with his batting average sitting at .219 with only seven home runs at the end of May. Not so fast said Bregman. After batting .310 in June he's off to another hot start in July batting .313 which brought his batting average up to a respectable .254. Bregman may not have the pop to be a top fantasy player anymore, but he still produces in a talented, but aging Houston Astros lineup. Not only is his power down, but his on-base skills have disappeared. He's almost sitting at a career-low .315 OBP with only 30 walks on the season. Hopefully, he can continue to keep this hot streak alive with his batting average because if he doesn't it won't be surprising if his roster percent rate starts to slip as we get deeper and deeper into the season.

Sun Jun 2319:28Alex Bregman Records Four Hits
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman was on fire at the plate during Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Bregman went 4-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in the blowout win. The veteran slugger recorded two doubles and two singles but still somehow didn't come away with an RBI. Regardless, Bregman has been hot at the plate with a .364 batting average in the month of June. Fantasy managers should keep rolling him out there on a daily basis.

Wed Jun 500:10X-Rays Negative On Alex Bregman's Left Hand
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (hand) was hit by a pitch in his left hand in the first inning of Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Cardinals. However, he was able to play the entire game, going 1-for-3 with a single, a walk, and a strikeout. Precautionary X-rays came back negative, per the Athletic's Chandler Rome. Bregman should be considered day-to-day, but it sounds like he avoided anything serious. This is good news for fantasy managers, as the 30-year-old is finally starting to come around at the plate, batting .370 with four home runs in his last seven games.

Sun Jun 216:53Alex Bregman Homers Again On Sunday
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins. The 30-year-old has caught fire as of late, specifically in the power department, as he has mashed four homers over his last six games. It is nice to see some signs of life from the two-time All Star as he had a dismal start to the season. He is still slashing an uncharacteristic .229/.287/.395 across 57 games to go along with eight homers, 28 RBI and two stolen bases. The boy-low window on Bregman appears to be closing fast as he continues to round into form.

Fri May 3100:41Alex Bregman Homers, Triples In Big Game On Thursday
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple, two runs, and two RBI on Thursday, driving the Astros to a 4-0 win over the Seattle Mariners. It was another positive step for Bregman, who has slowly been rounding into form in May. He now has 12 runs, five homers, and 15 RBI on the month, a big step up from his April numbers. The 30-year-old vet is normally a solid source of power and counting stats while providing a decent average, and he appears to be heading for that kind of outcome again. The buy-low window is closing quickly on Bregman, but it's still worth a shot as his overall numbers still aren't good.

Wed May 2908:34Alex Bregman Goes Yard In Loss
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss versus the Seattle Mariners. Bregman's homer off Luis Castillo in the top of the fourth inning would be the only offense for the Astros in the team's defeat. Bregman's home run was his fifth of the season. The upcoming free-agent has really struggled in his contract year and has hit a weak .212 on the season. Statcast metrics show that Bregman's struggles are real and his .208 batting average in May is a decline from his .218 average in April, however, Bregman has hit four of his five longballs in May. Regardless, Bregman has failed to give managers any sort of return on their investment. The veteran's track record suggests he can turn it around before all is said and done, but managers should consider options swinging a better bat until Bregman shows he can string together a few games.

Wed May 1500:44Alex Bregman Hits Another Home Run Tuesday
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman continued to heat up offensively in Tuesday's 2-1 extra-innings win over the Athletics. Bregman went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run, and a strikeout. The 30-year-old is slashing just .225/.293/.358 in 167 plate appearances but has now hit three HR in his last two games and has been hitting much better lately. Bregman is a proven fantasy option and fantasy managers should give him time to figure things out, which he already may be doing.

Mon May 1323:52Alex Bregman Swats Two Home Runs On Monday
Houston Astros third basemen Alex Bregman torched Oakland A's pitching, going 3-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI, and three runs scored. He started his big day with a solo home run in the fourth inning, another solo shot in the seventh, and then capped off his night with a two-run double as the Astros beat the A's 9-2. It's been an underwhelming start to the season, with his slash line at .218/.288/.327 and his demotion to the seventh spot in the batting order. Hopefully, Bregman will look to carry the momentum from Monday into the following three games against the A's pitching staff to finally get out of the early season funk he has been in.

Mon Apr 1516:18Alex Bregman Back In Action Monday
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (illness) is back at third base and is hitting cleanup for the Astros on Monday against the visiting Atlanta Braves and right-hander Darius Vines after missing the last three games with an illness. Fantasy managers will want to get Bregman back in their lineups for the week. The 30-year-old will look to get things rolling at the plate after a slow start to the season. The two-time All-Star is currently slashing .241/.305/.333 with no home runs, two RBI, a stolen base, two runs scored and nine strikeouts in 59 plate appearances over his first 14 games played. This will be the first time that Bregman has faced Vines in the big leagues.

Sun Apr 1412:45Alex Bregman Remains Out On Sunday
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (illness) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers. The stud corner infielder will now miss his third game in a row due to a lingering illness. It's unlikely that the Astros need to place Bregman on the injured list, but fantasy managers should stay tuned. Mauricio Dubon will get the start at third base and bat ninth versus right-hander Nathan Eovaldi. Fantasy managers should avoid Dubon in this tough matchup.

Sat Apr 1313:37Alex Bregman Still Battling An Illness, Remains Out On Saturday
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (illness) is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Texas Rangers. He is resting at home and will miss his second consecutive game due to an illness. The 30-year-old has briefly popped up at the clubhouse but still needs another day off. Bregman is considered day-to-day. Mauricio Dubon will start at third base and is batting ninth for the Astros in Saturday's game. He is slashing .259/.286/.333 with two doubles, five RBI, and two strikeouts over 10 games in 2024. Dubon can be used as a streamer in deep leagues against Rangers left-hander Andrew Heaney, who has struggled this season with a 7.56 ERA over his first two starts.

Thu Mar 2814:50Alex Bregman Batting Cleanup Against The New York Yankees
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman will be batting cleanup on Opening Day as he faces southpaw Nestor Cortes and the New York Yankees. Bregman was a popular target in drafts this offseason with an ADP of 59.0. The 29-year-old has been a staple in the Houston lineup for several seasons and should once again be counted on to produce as a strong source of counting stats and great on-base skills. Bregman is an excellent play in DFS, as he should see ample opportunities to be on the score sheet.

Sat Mar 2318:40Alex Bregman Blasts Two Three-Run Homers, Collects Six RBI
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman went 3-for-4 with two-three run home runs in the team's 13-5 win over the New York Mets. He took Jose Quintana deep in the first inning for his first three-run homer of the game. The 29-year-old later blasted his second three-run homer off Yohan Ramirez in the fourth inning. It improved Bregman's productive spring stats to a .383/.431/.1.027 slash line in 47 AB. The 29-year-old has an ADP of 59.0 and is projected to hit 23 HR with 86 RBI and 91 runs this season per ATC. RotoBaller has Bregman ranked eighth among all third basemen in the latest rankings, which is in line with his ADP of 85.68 in March. Both fantasy managers and Astros fans can expect Bregman to be a productive piece of their lineup in 2024.

Fri Mar 100:36Alex Bregman Working To Develop More Power
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman has been working to add more power to his game this offseason, according to Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle. Earlier this offseason, Bregman was approached by hitting coach Troy Snitker who had an "intriguing proposition [...] aimed at helping the third baseman produce more power in the upcoming year." Bregman has since adopted a new hitting program in which he uses differently weighted bats, which is intended to improve bat speed, produce higher exit velocities, and combat faster pitching. The third baseman slashed just .262/.363/.441 last year but still contributed 25 homers. Adding additional power to his game could bring Bregman back to an All-Star level.

Wed Feb 712:54Astros To Make Extension Offer To Alex Bregman
Houston Astros owner Jim Crane said this week that the team will "definitely" make a contract-extension offer to All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman before he reaches free agency following the 2024 season. It comes after the Astros locked up second baseman Jose Altuve with a five-year, $125 million extension on Tuesday. The 29-year-old Bregman is younger than Altuve and could decide he wants to test the free-agent market, especially if he has a strong campaign in 2024. He hit .262/.363/.441 with 25 home runs, 28 doubles, four triples, 98 RBI, three stolen bases and 103 runs scored in 161 games played in his eighth big-league season last year. The two-time All-Star resides in one of the best lineups in baseball and should still be considered a top-10 fantasy third baseman.

Mon Nov 27 202314:22Alex Bregman Could Be Moved This Offseason
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman could be traded away this offseason, according to former MLB general manager Jim Duquette. The two-time All-Star is in the final season of his current five-year contract that carries an average annual value of $20 million, but it is believed the club will not be able to re-sign him given his Scott Boras representation and the fact the club could not retain Carlos Correa or George Springer when they hit the open market in recent offseasons. The 29-year-old is coming off another quality season that saw him hit .262 with 25 home runs, 103 runs, 98 RBI, and an .804 OPS across 161 appearances. The 2019 AL MVP runner-up is an excellent option at the hot corner in fantasy drafts next spring.

Sun Sep 3 202323:09Alex Bregman Collects Two Singles In Astros Loss
During Sunday night's game against the Yankees, third baseman Alex Bregman went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored the Astros' only run. Bregman got on base early with a base hit against righty Michael King in the first frame. He then crossed the plate for the game's first run, thanks to a sacrifice fly from left-handed batter Kyle Tucker. Both of Bregman's hits during the contest were singles. So far this season, the 29-year-old infielder is batting .267/.365/.446. He has also contributed 22 home runs, 90 RBI, and three swiped bags.

Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, four RBI, three runs scored, and two walks in Saturday's lopsided 9-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. The 29-year-old filled up the box score in this one, first doubling in Jose Altuve during the opening inning. Bregman kept his foot on the gas for a fifth-inning two-run jack, plus another RBI double amidst the sixth frame. It was notably his fourth four-RBI effort of the year. The two-time All-Star is quietly putting together a strong campaign, but Bregman has been on fire especially over his last 10 games. He's hitting .375 (15-for-40) with nine extra-base knocks, 11 RBI, and 12 runs scored since Aug. 16.

The 29-year-old Bregman now has 17 dingers this season while slashing 256/.347/.430 with 66 RBI in 452 trips to the plate. Last season he blasted 21 homers in 548 at-bats.

Mon Jul 17 202309:25Alex Bregman Blasts Go-Ahead Homer
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman came up clutch for the team during Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Angels. The Astros entered the eighth inning trailing 7-3 versus All-Star closer Carlos Estevez. They were able to rally and make it 7-5 before Jaime Barria came in for the ninth inning. Houston scored a run off him before Bregman blasted a go-ahead two-run home run to give the Astros the lead.
