Fri Mar 2212:23Eloy Jimenez Back In Friday's Lineup
Chicago White Sox outfielder/designated hitter Eloy Jimenez (foot) is back in the team's Cactus League lineup on Friday against the Oakland Athletics, serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup. Jimenez fouled a ball off his foot in Wednesday's spring game and was held out of action on Thursday as a result. He's back in there now, though, so it appears the oft-injured 27-year-old dodged a bullet and should be ready for Opening Day on March 28. Fantasy managers should know that Jimenez is a pretty big injury risk, as he's missed at least 40 games in all five of his major-league seasons. He hasn't been able to match the 31 home runs he hit during his rookie campaign in 2019, either. Because of that, RotoBaller has Jimenez ranked as the No. 46 fantasy outfielder in 2024.

Thu Mar 2114:20Eloy Jimenez Suffers Bruised Foot
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (foot) has suffered a bruised right foot after fouling a pitch off of it on Wednesday. The oft-injured 27-year-old is listed as day to day at this point. It's been a productive spring to this point for Jimenez in Cactus League action as he is hitting .356 with one homer, 12 RBI, and an .894 OPS across 47 trips to the plate. He took a step back at the plate in the 2023 season when he hit .272 with 18 home runs, 64 RBI, and a .758 OPS across 120 appearances, good for a 105 wRC+ that represents the second-lowest mark of his five-year career. He is a solid bounce-back candidate who projects for 23 home runs and 73 RBI by ATC across 125 games in the 2024 campaign but he still carries substantial injury risk.

Thu Mar 711:02Eloy Jimenez Stays Hot, Mashes First Spring Home Run Wednesday
Chicago White Sox designated hitter Eloy Jimenez continued his hot spring on Wednesday in a 12-9 Cactus League loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jimenez went 2-for-2 with a walk, a single, and his first home run of the spring, driving in two runs and scoring in all three plate appearances. The powerful righty now sits alone atop the spring leaderboard in hits with 12, with five multi-hit efforts in eight games played. The 27-year-old has worked with hitting coach Marcus Thames on his swing and it appears to be paying off. It's also a contract year for Jimenez so there's extra motivation, for him and the White Sox, as he could also be a potential trade chip.

Mon Feb 1918:20Eloy Jimenez Hopes To Play 150-Plus Games
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez said his goal is to play in 150-plus games in 2024 alongside Yoan Moncada and Luis Robert Jr. Injuries have been an issue for Jimenez, Moncada and Robert, but the rebuilding White Sox would be in great shape this year if all three players could stay on the field more often than not. The 27-year-old Jimenez missed some time in May due to an appendectomy, but otherwise he was mostly healthy and played in 120 games, just two shy of his career high. He hit .272/.317/.441 with 18 home runs, 64 RBI and 50 runs scored in 489 trips to the plate, which left a lot to be desired considering how many games he played. Jimenez is a risk/reward for fantasy managers willing to take a chance on him in the later rounds of drafts, but to this point in five big-league seasons, he hasn't been able to reach his potential.

Mon Aug 21 202316:28Eloy Jimenez Activated And Starting Monday
The Chicago White Sox reinstated outfielder Eloy Jimenez from the paternity list on Monday and optioned right-hander Declan Cronin to Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Jimenez is right back in the starting lineup against Seattle Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo, serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup for the Pale Hose. The 26-year-old missed last Wednesday's game with a groin injury and then missed all of the weekend series for the birth of his child. He's apparently over his groin ailment and is ready to go. Jimenez is returning to a .277/.320/.452 slash line with 14 homers, 50 RBI and 36 runs scored in 321 at-bats in 2023.

Fri Aug 18 202317:06White Sox Place Eloy Jimenez On Paternity List
The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder/designated hitter Eloy Jimenez (groin) on the paternity list on Friday and recalled infield prospect Lenyn Sosa from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Jimenez didn't play on Wednesday due to a groin injury, but hopefully he'll be healthy enough to return to the starting lineup when he's back from the paternity list. Fantasy managers can count the 26-year-old out for the team's weekend series against the Colorado Rockies. Sosa, the team's No. 16 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will make the start at second base and bat ninth on Friday against Rockies right-hander Peter Lambert. With Tim Anderson also out this weekend while serving his suspension, the 23-year-old Sosa could see several starts for Chicago. He's struggled in his first 106 MLB plate appearances the last two years, going 13-for-103 (.126) with two homers and four RBI.

Wed Aug 16 202318:31Eloy Jimenez Absent On Wednesday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (groin) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Chicago Cubs. The 26-year-old is dealing with a groin issue, so the White Sox will give him a rest day here. Fantasy managers should consider Jimenez as day-to-day, so hopefully he'll return soon. The expectation is that Jimenez should be ready for the series opener versus the Colorado Rockies on Friday. In the meantime, Oscar Colas will cover right field and bat ninth versus right-hander Javier Assad on Wednesday.

Sat Aug 5 202316:55Eloy Jimenez Returns To The Lineup
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (heel) is back in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. He'll return after missing each of the last two games due to heel soreness. Luckily, it was only a minor injury and it didn't force Jimenez onto the injured list. He'll serve as the designated hitter and bat cleanup versus right-hander Noah Syndergaard on Saturday. Jimenez is slashing .281/.325/.467 with 13 home runs, 47 RBI this season. Fantasy managers should make sure to get him back in their lineups on Saturday.

Fri Aug 4 202319:08Eloy Jimenez Out With Sore Heel
Updating a previous report, Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (heel) is out of the starting lineup for the second straight game on Friday against the Cleveland Guardians due to a sore heel, according to manager Pedro Grifol. With Jimenez out, Oscar Colas is serving as the designated hitter and batting eighth against Guardians left-hander Logan Allen. Consider the 26-year-old Jimenez to be day-to-day for now. Hopefully he'll be able to play at some point this weekend in the series in Cleveland. In his 285 at-bats as a regular for the White Sox in 2023 when he's been healthy, Jimenez has hit a strong .281/.325/.467 with 13 home runs, 47 RBI and 33 runs scored in 74 games. He's missed his fair share of games in his big-league career due to injuries and has played in over 100 games in a season just once, back in 2019 in his rookie campaign.

Fri Aug 4 202316:14Eloy Jimenez Out Again For White Sox
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez is out of the starting lineup again on Friday for the start of a series against the Cleveland Guardians. Jimenez was also absent from the lineup for the series finale on Thursday against the Texas Rangers. The 26-year-old Dominican has been hitting well since July 20, going 15-for-43 (.349) with a home run, three doubles, seven RBI and four runs scored in 12 games. There's been no word of an injury for Jimenez, so it looks like Chicago is just giving him a few days to rest up. He's hitting .281/.325/.467 through 74 games and 305 plate appearances in 2023 with 13 home runs, 14 doubles, 47 RBI and 33 runs scored. Jimenez is still looking for the first stolen base of his career through 390 games played.

Thu Aug 3 202312:16Eloy Jimenez Retreats To The Bench
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez isn't in the team's starting lineup on Thursday as they take on the Texas Rangers. With Jimenez starting on the bench, Gavin Sheets will serve as the designated hitter and will bat seventh against Rangers right-hander Max Scherzer. It's a normal day of rest for Jimenez in the matinee affair. The 26-year-old Dominican has been solid in 2023 when he's been healthy, but he has still yet to steal a base in the big leagues in his fifth season with the White Sox. In 73 games (304 plate appearances) this year, Jimenez is batting .282/.326/.468 with 13 home runs, 14 doubles, 47 RBI and 33 runs scored. He has yet to repeat his rookie campaign when he clubbed 31 homers and drove in 79 in 122 games in 2019.

Sat Jul 29 202314:33Teams Reportedly Interested In Eloy Jimenez
Chicago White Sox designated hitter Eloy Jimenez is drawing interest from the Brewers and Marlins, according to Rick Levine of AM 670 The Score. The White Sox made some moves of late, so it's possible the team isn't done. The 26-year-old slugger has a .277 average with 84 home runs, 405 hits, and 257 RBI during his career. However, he has been limited by injuries. A change of scenery likely won't impact Jimenez's ability to stay healthy. But his production will be affected one way or another, depending on if he's traded. Jimenez is under contract through 2024, with the club holding options for 2025 and 2026.

Sun Jul 23 202310:07Eloy Jimenez Still Limited By Groin Injury
Chicago White Sox designated hitter Eloy Jimenez (groin) is set to be included in Sunday's starting lineup against the Minnesota Twins despite remaining encumbered by his balky groin. White Sox skipper Pedro Grifol believes Jimenez's bat is worth keeping in the lineup even if he's a liability while running the bases. We're inclined to agree, as Chicago carries one offensive disappointment after another besides Luis Robert Jr.'s MVP-caliber campaign. Jimenez is hitting .300 in 30 at-bats across his last nine games, but he only has one RBI over this span.

Thu Jul 20 202312:11Eloy Jimenez Makes His Return
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (groin) is back in the starting lineup on Thursday against the New York Mets and left-hander Jose Quintana. Jimenez is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup. He missed the last two games while nursing a minor groin injury, but fantasy managers will have him back headed into the weekend. Hopefully he'll be able to pick up where he's left off in July, as he's gone 11-for-38 with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored in 11 games this month. Jimenez has still yet to steal a base in his major-league career, and he's slashing .269/.313/.463 with 12 home runs, 11 doubles, 40 RBI and 29 runs scored in 62 games this year. Get him back into your starting lineups.

Wed Jul 19 202316:08Eloy Jimenez Missing Another Game
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (groin) is on the bench again on Wednesday with the team facing the New York Mets. Jimenez hasn't played since leaving Sunday's game against the Atlanta Braves early with left-groin tightness. The White Sox said Jimenez was available off the bench on Tuesday, but he ultimately was not used and he'll begin on the bench again on Wednesday. The team said the other day that the 26-year-old could miss four to five games this week, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise. And if Jimenez doesn't improve soon, he could land on the injured list. Rookie Oscar Colas is getting a start in right field on Wednesday and is hitting eighth in the lineup against Mets veteran right-hander Justin Verlander.

Tue Jul 18 202318:57Eloy Jimenez Available Off The Bench
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (groin) is expected to be held out of the starting lineup for a few days after suffering an injury on Sunday. However, manager Pedro Grifol mentioned that Jimenez will be available off the bench for Tuesday's game. The 26-year-old woke up on Tuesday feeling much better, according to Grifol. That is great news as Jimenez was originally expected to sit out most of the week. Now, it seems possible that Jimenez could return to the lineup as early as Wednesday. Fantasy managers should check back for another update on his status.

Tue Jul 18 202316:27Eloy Jimenez Still Out Against Mets
As expected, Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (groin) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday against the New York Mets. Jimenez is expected to be out of action for the Pale Hose for four to five days after he injured his left groin on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves in the series finale. The oft-injured 26-year-old could still land on the injured list as well. Yasmani Grandal will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth on Tuesday against Mets veteran right-hander Carlos Carrasco. Jimenez has yet to steal a base in his major-league career, and he's currently batting .269 (65-for-242) with 12 home runs, 11 doubles, 40 RBI and 29 runs scored in 259 trips to the plate over 62 games played. All things considered, he's been a bit of a disappointment for fantasy managers. The good news is he'll be available off the bench.

Mon Jul 17 202312:06Eloy Jimenez Could Be Out 4-5 Days
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (groin) will be further evaluated after injuring his groin on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves, and manager Pedro Grifol said that he could be out four to five days. The White Sox have an off day on Monday before beginning a series against the New York Mets on Tuesday, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect Jimenez to be back in there by then. The oft-injured 26-year-old could still land on the injured list, so fantasy managers need to prepare for that possibility. Jimenez went 0-for-1 on Sunday before leaving early, and he's now hitting .269/.313/.463 on the season with 12 home runs, 11 doubles, 40 RBI and 29 runs scored in 259 plate appearances and 62 games played.

Sun Jul 16 202314:18Eloy Jimenez Leaves Sunday With Groin Issue
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez left Sunday's contest against the Atlanta Braves prematurely after experiencing left groin tightness, according to the team's Twitter. He will be further evaluated, but fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day. Jimenez has dealt with numerous injuries over his carer and has only played in 61 games this season, in which he's slashed .270/.314/.465 with 12 homers, 29 runs, and 40 RBI. Gavin Sheets came into the game on Sunday as the 26-year-old's replacement and should receive most of the playing time if he's forced to miss more games.

Sun Jul 2 202322:53Eloy Jimenez Removed From Game Early On Sunday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez exited Sunday's game early with unspecified soreness. Jimenez was pinch-hit for in the eighth with the White Sox up 8-3. He appeared to be okay in the clubhouse and gave a thumbs-up to media members after the game. Hopefully, this is just a situation where he wasn't feeling 100% heading into the game and with a big lead he was taken out to protect against further injury. It is always scary seeing Jimenez being taken out of a game with his injury history, and fantasy managers will want to wait for more news on Jimenez before they put their lineups together for next week.
