Sun Apr 24 202219:17Louis Head Converts His First Save On Sunday
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Louis Head closed out the team's 5-4 win over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday to earn his first save of the year. Tanner Scott initially came out for the ninth inning while the Marlins had a 5-1 lead, but he allowed three runs while recording just one out. Head came on after him and was able to induce a pair of strikeouts to lock up the victory. Head is off to a nice start to the season. He's pitched 5.1 innings and he's allowed three hits, three walks and no runs. Anthony Bender (hip), who has been the team's primary closer, is dealing with hip soreness and was likely unavailable for Sunday's game. Even though Head has been pitching well, don't go chasing him on the waiver wire just yet as Sunday's save seemed like a rare one-off incident.

Sun Nov 14 202120:46Louis Head Traded To Marlins Sunday
The Miami Marlins acquired right-hander Louis Head from the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday for a player to be named later or cash, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network. Head made his major league debut last season and ended up appearing in 27 games, opening twice. The 31-year old posted a 2.31 ERA and 0.86 WHIP with 32 strikeouts and nine walks in 35 innings. He will join a solid Marlins bullpen that combined for a 3.81 ERA. If he pitches well again, he might get some chances for holds after collecting none in 2021. However, there isn't much value in Head, as he likely won't contribute enough strikeouts for someone behind a few relievers in the closer depth chart.
