Tue Oct 3 202318:07Cristian Pache In The Lineup For Game 1
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Cristian Pache is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's Game 1 of the Wild Card series against the Miami Marlins. The Phillies will move Pache into the lineup versus left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Normally, Brandon Marsh would be out there, but he'll head to the bench versus the southpaw. Pache will cover left field and bat eighth on Tuesday. He hasn't done much damage with the bat during his 48 games with the Phillies this season. That being said, Pache won't be a great streaming option for this contest.

Fri Jul 14 202312:07Cristian Pache Goes On Injured List, Phils Recall Johan Rojas
The Philadelphia Phillies placed outfielder Cristian Pache (elbow) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to July 11) on Friday with right-elbow irritation and recalled outfield prospect Johan Rojas from Double-A Reading and infielder Drew Ellis from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in corresponding moves. Pache's injury is minor, so he could be back before the end of the month. In a small sample size of 49 at-bats, he's hitting a strong .327 with just two homers and eight RBI in a platoon in center field for the Phils. With Pache out, Rojas, the team's No. 6 prospect per MLB Pipeline, should see some playing time in center field against left-handers. The 22-year-old has impressed with a .306 average, nine home runs and 30 steals at Reading this year, but fantasy managers in single-year leagues shouldn't invest much in him because he probably isn't going to stick around long on the big-league roster.

Fri Jun 16 202318:58Cristian Pache Activated On Friday
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Cristian Pache (knee) has been activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Friday's game against the Oakland Athletics. The 24-year-old has been out since late-April due to a meniscus tear in his right knee. Before that, Pache was actually hitting well through his first nine games with the Phillies. He's not expected to play everyday, so his fantasy value is going to be limited. Pache was once a top prospect, so maybe he can finally reach his full potential. This is a wait-and-see approach for fantasy managers.

Sat May 27 202315:03Cristian Pache Could May Rehab Assignment Wednesday
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Cristian Pache (knee) is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Low-A Clearwater on Wednesday. The 24-year-old appeared in 18 games this season, amassing a .360 average with nine hits and four RBI. However, he tore the meniscus in his right knee at the end of April, resulting in surgery. Although it's unlikely Pache will continue to play as well as he did before going down, he's someone fantasy managers should keep an eye on moving ahead.

Mon May 1 202321:33Cristian Pache Has Surgery On Meniscus Monday
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Cristian Pache (knee) had knee surgery on Monday and will be out at least four to six weeks, according to reports. Pache injured his right meniscus while on the basepaths during Friday's game, and it was eventually determined that he needed surgery. He had been off to a fast start with the Phillies in 2023, hitting .360 with a homer, two runs, and four RBI across 25 at-bats.

Sat Apr 29 202313:54Cristian Pache Placed On The 10-Day Injured List
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Cristian Pache (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right knee injury. The 24-year-old appeared to tweak his knee on the basepaths in Friday's contest and was initially ruled day-to-day before being placed on the IL. Pache was playing well for the Phillies after being traded from the A's earlier this season. He's slashing .360/.360/.600 with one home run and four RBI over 25 at-bats on the year. Knee issues can be tricky so we'll see how long his stint on the IL lasts. Dalton Guthrie was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move.

Wed Mar 29 202316:29Phillies Acquire Cristian Pache From A's
The Philadelphia Phillies acquired outfielder Cristian Pache from the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday in exchange for right-hander Billy Sullivan. Pache, once a top prospect of the Atlanta Braves, was dealt to Philly after it was announced that he wouldn't make Oakland's Opening Day roster. The 24-year-old's glove is still way ahead of his bat, although he did hit .302 (13-for-43) with a double, two triples, eight RBI, three runs scored and a steal in 21 Cactus League games this spring. In his three major-league seasons, Pache has hit just .156 with a .439 OPS, four home runs, 22 RBI and 24 runs scored in 115 games. For now, he'll bring the Phillies some outfield depth. Pache can be ignored in single-year mixed leagues.

Tue Mar 28 202310:10Cristian Pache Won't Be On Opening Day Roster
Oakland Athletics outfielder Cristian Pache, who is out of minor-league options, won't open the year on the team's Opening Day roster, according to manager Mark Kotsay. Brent Rooker and Conner Capel will be on the Opening Day roster. It comes after Pache hit .302 (13-for-43) with a double, two triples, eight RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in 21 Cactus League games this spring. He was terrible in 91 games for the A's last year, though, slashing .166/.218/.241 with three home runs, 18 RBI and 18 runs scored in 260 plate appearances. If Oakland can't find a trade partner for the 24-year-old, he's likely to be designated for assignment. Esteury Ruiz, who is a fine stolen base target late in drafts, should see a lot of playing time in the outfield with Pache now out of the picture.

Mon Mar 13 202313:13Cristian Pache Having Big Spring For A's
Oakland A's center fielder Cristian Pache has come out of the gates hot this spring as he chases down a full-time role for the A's in 2023. Through 10 Cactus League contests, Pache is hitting .417 with a double, two triples and a 1.065 OPS across 24 at-bats. To his credit, the 24-year-old has yet to strike out in that time, albeit with just one walk to his credit. Nonetheless, Pache has already put his excellent defense on display at the big-league level but has scuffled to a .156 batting average with four home runs, two stolen bases and a .439 OPS across 332 career trips to the plate. Pache even scuffled to a .248 average with four homers and one steal alongside a .687 OPS in 41 games at Triple-A in 2022. His chances for increased playing time improved with newcomer JJ Bleday being optioned to the minors, but Pache will likely need to carry his hot spring start into the regular season for everyday reps in 2023.

Thu Jun 30 202218:50Cristian Pache Optioned, Jed Lowrie To Injured List
The Oakland Athletics optioned outfielder Cristian Pache to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday and also placed infielder Jed Lowrie (shoulder) on the injured list. In corresponding moves, Adam Oller was optioned to Las Vegas, infielder Vimael Machin was called up, right-hander Adrian Martinez was called up to start against the Seattle Mariners on Thursday and Skye Bolt was reinstated from the injured list. Pache needs to work on his swing down in the minors after hitting .159 with two home runs, 13 RBI and one stolen base in 68 games in his first year in Oakland. Lowrie, meanwhile, has hit .185 with three long balls and 16 RBI in 151 at-bats. Bolt, who is starting in center field and batting sixth against Seattle Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert on Thursday, could see regular playing time in center now. Machin has had a breakout year in the minors and is worth a peek in deep mixed and AL-only leagues if he sees enough playing time around the infield.

Tue May 10 202211:08Cristian Pache Back In Center Field
Oakland Athletics outfielder Cristian Pache is back in center field and is hitting eighth against Detroit Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday. Ramon Laureano will shift to right field and hit third in the batting order. Pache continues to be a glove-first commodity, as he's just 15-for-89 with two home runs, six RBI and 23 strikeouts in his first 27 games in Oakland. Meanwhile, Laureano is still searching for his first hit after returning recently from a suspension that carried over from last season. Laureano is the better DFS bet for production, but right now, both Laureano and Pache are mainly attractive for their defense in the outfield.

Wed Mar 30 202210:25Is Cristian Pache's Bat Ready?
Oakland Athletics outfielder Cristian Pache's glove is ready for the major leagues, with scouts predicting multiple Gold Gloves in his future. But the question has always been whether he can hit enough. The Opening Day center field job in Oakland is up for grabs with Ramon Laureano suspended for the first 27 games, but Pache must show that he's capable of hitting enough the take the job. The team's No. 4 prospect went 0-for-3 with a walk on Tuesday, and his batting average is down to .160 through nine spring games. The 23-year-old Dominican has hit just .119/.157/.209 with a home run and four RBI in his first 72 major league plate appearances over the last two seasons, so fantasy managers shouldn't be looking at his name in mixed leagues just yet.

Mon Mar 14 202214:29A's Acquire Cristian Pache, Shea Langeliers
The Oakland Athletics acquired outfielder Cristian Pache, catcher Shea Langeliers and starting pitchers Ryan Cusick and Joey Estes from the Atlanta Braves on Monday in exchange for first baseman Matt Olson, according to a source. The A's are clearly rebuilding heading into 2022, but it's a big prospect haul for them. Pache and Langeliers were ranked by MLB Pipeline as Atlanta's top two prospects, while Cusick comes in at No. 6 and Estes at No. 14. In his first 24 big-league games, Pache has been a disappointment with the bat, hitting .119/.157/.209 with a homer and four RBI. Langeliers had a combined 22 home runs and 53 RBI while hitting .256 for Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett in 97 games. Both Pache and Langeliers have long-term offensive potential, but their defense is well ahead at this point.

Tue Oct 12 202116:45Cristian Pache Added To NLDS Roster
The Atlanta Braves called up outfielder Cristian Pache from Triple-A on Tuesday and added him to their NLDS roster. The move was made after the team placed outfielder Jorge Soler on the COVID-19 injured list. Soler will be out for a minimum of five days after testing positive for COVID-19. Pache is likely to serve as a reserve outfielder while Soler is out. Fellow outfielder Guillermo Heredia is earning his first start of the NLDS for Tuesday's Game 4. The 22-year-old Pache spent the bulk of the year at Triple-A, slashing .265/.330/.414 with 11 home runs, nine stolen bases, 44 RBI and 50 runs over 89 games.
