Mon Apr 2219:36Bryse Wilson Likely To Move Into Rotation
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Bryse Wilson is likely to move from the bullpen into the team's starting rotation for now with DL Hall (knee), Wade Miley (elbow) and Jakob Junis (head, shoulder) all on the injured list right now. Wilson made a spot start on the last homestand when the Brewers had a hole in their rotation and tossed 3 2/3 innings of scoreless ball while walking one and striking out two in a no-decision against the San Diego Padres. The former fourth-rounder of the Atlanta Braves in 2016 has been solid in his seven appearances for the Brewers so far in 2024, posting a 3.29 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 12 strikeouts in his 13 2/3 innings pitched. In NL-only leagues for sure, he's worth a pickup if he officially joins Milwaukee's rotation.

Wed Jan 4 202318:27Brewers Acquire Bryse Wilson From Pirates
The Milwaukee Brewers acquired right-hander Bryse Wilson from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations. In a corresponding move, the Brewers designated pitcher Trevor Kelley for assignment. Wilson had a tough year in 2022 in his first full year in Pittsburgh, going 3-9 with a 5.52 ERA (5.06 FIP), 1.42 WHIP and 15.5 percent strikeout rate in a career-high 115 2/3 innings over 25 appearances (20 starts) for the Bucs. It spurred the team to designate him for assignment last week, but Wilson quickly lands on his feet in Milwaukee. He'll be hoping his strong finish to the year will vault him to a good showing in spring training with his new squad, but at best, Wilson will likely be a spot starter/long reliever for the Brew Crew.

The Pittsburgh Pirates designated right-hander Bryse Wilson for assignment on Wednesday to make room on the 40-man roster for the recently signed Jarlin Garcia. In five big-league seasons, he has a 5.54 ERA (5.26 FIP), a 1.49 WHIP and a weak 15.7 percent strikeout rate in 232 1/3 innings over 56 appearances (43 starts) for the Pirates and Atlanta Braves. Wherever he lands next, the 25-year-old will likely begin the 2023 season in the minors.

Tue Jun 14 202211:47Bryse Wilson To Start Game 2 Against Cardinals
Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Bryse Wilson is being recalled from the minors in order to start Game 2 of a doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday. Outfield prospect Travis Swaggerty and Aaron Fletcher are being optioned to the minors in corresponding moves. Wilson will likely be sent back to Triple-A Indianapolis after the outing, and he won't be a recommended fantasy streamer against St. Louis. The 24-year-old lost his spot in Pittsburgh's starting rotation earlier this year after allowing 24 earned runs on 37 hits while walking 14 and striking out 24 in 28 2/3 innings in eight appearances (five starts). Wilson has a 5.94 career ERA and 1.61 WHIP with a weak 16.3% strikeout rate in five big-league seasons.

Mon Sep 20 202108:32Bryse Wilson Placed On 10-Day Injured List
The Pittsburgh Pirates placed starting pitcher Bryse Wilson (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Sunday due to a left hamstring strain. The team recalled pitcher Max Kranick from Triple-A in a corresponding move and he went on to start Sunday's game against the Miami Marlins. Wilson was acquired by the Pirates from the Atlanta Braves prior to the trade deadline. Over eight starts with the Pirates, he has gone 1-4 with a 4.91 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. He'll have a chance to make one more start this year if he only needs the minimum amount of time on the injured list.

Wed Sep 1 202110:42Bryse Wilson Yields Four Runs In Tuesday’s Loss
Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Bryse Wilson (2-6) allowed four earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one over five innings during Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox. He was hurt by the long ball and surrendered solo blasts to Jose Abreu and Yasmani Grandal. The 23-year-old loaded the bases before exiting in the sixth inning after just 69 pitches. Wilson owns a 4.61 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 37 strikeouts over 56 2/3 innings in 2021. The Pirates right-hander is scheduled to take on the Chicago Cubs in a road matchup on Sunday. Fantasy managers can leave Wilson on the waiver wire.

Thu Aug 26 202108:21Bryse Wilson Throws Five Scoreless Innings In His Return
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Bryse Wilson (arm) was activated from the injured list prior to Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He went on to start the game and he delivered a solid outing, pitching five scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and two walks while striking out seven. Wilson was sidelined for the minimum 10 days due to right arm fatigue. He's been quietly impressive since joining the Pirates at the start of August. Over four starts with the team, he has a 3.60 ERA and 1.10 WHIP. He's worth keeping an eye on for fantasy managers, though his next matchup will be a tough one against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.

Mon Aug 9 202102:18Bryse Wilson Throws Quality Start Against Reds
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Bryse Wilson recorded a quality start but earned the loss on Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out seven over six innings of work. Despite going 0-2 since being acquired by Pittsburgh in the trade that sent Richard Rodriguez to Atlanta, Wilson has put up solid numbers so far with a 3.27 ERA, 1.000 WHIP and seven strikeouts over 11 innings of work with the Pirates. He could be worth looking at as a streaming option in deeper formats, but managers will likely want to avoid his next outing against the Brewers.

Mon Aug 2 202118:26Bryse Wilson To Start For Pirates Monday
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Bryse Wilson will get the start on Monday night in the series opener with the Brewers, according to Kevin Gorman of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. Wilson was acquired at the deadline by Pittsburgh in the deal that sent relief pitcher Richard Rodriguez to Atlanta. Over seven starts this year with the Braves, Wilson has gone 2-3 with a 4.83 ERA, 1.547 WHIP and 15.1 percent strikeout rate over 31 2/3 innings of work. The Brewers have been not been hitting well against right-handed pitching this year (.225/.313/.385), and they've particularly struggled to hit at home with a .218 average and .688 OPS at Great American Ballpark. With this in mind, Wilson could be a sneaky good streaming option on Monday night.
