Thu Dec 14 202314:57Taylor Clarke Being Dealt From Royals To Brewers
The Kansas City Royals have traded relief pitcher Taylor Clarke to the Milwaukee Brewers. The return for the trade is unknown at this point. The right-hander has logged plenty of appearances out of the Royals' bullpen of late, trotting out for 105 appearances over the last two seasons. After posting a solid 4.04 ERA across 47 outings in 2022, Clarke struggled to a 5.95 ERA across 58 appearances a season ago. However, he could be in for a bounce-back season considering he also posted a rock-solid 4.04 SIERA last season and a dynamite 3.16 mark in 2022. Additionally, his 24.4% K% last season was a career-high despite seeing his walk rate skyrocket to 9% from an excellent 3.9% two seasons ago.

Sat Nov 11 202313:30Taylor Clarke Avoids Arbitration With The Royals
Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Taylor Clarke has avoided arbitration with the team and agreed to a one-year deal. The terms of the deal are not yet known, however. Clarke posted a lackluster 5.95 ERA, 1.610, and 65:24 K/BB ratio over 59 innings (58 appearances, two starts) last season in Kansas City. He has been solid overall in his five-year career so it makes sense that the Royals would want to keep him around.

Fri Apr 29 202208:20Taylor Clarke Records His First Save On Thursday
Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Taylor Clarke closed out the team's 5-2, 10-inning victory over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday to earn his first save of the year. He retired the side in order in the 10th inning, recording two strikeouts along the way. This was his second save opportunity of the year, but he failed to convert his first one, which was also a 10th inning save opportunity. As with last year, the Royals have a somewhat cryptic bullpen. Josh Staumont leads the team with two saves while Clarke and Scott Barlow are the only other Royals relievers with a save. Staumont seems like he's at the top of the closer hierarchy for the team, but Barlow is very much in the picture. Clarke may be next up after that duo, but he's not someone worthy of rostering in any fantasy formats for now.

Wed Dec 1 202122:04Royals Sign Taylor Clarke
The Kansas City Royals have signed relief pitcher Taylor Clarke, according to a tweet from MLB Network's Jon Heyman. Per Heyman, it's a one-year deal for Clarke worth $975,000. The 28-year-old pitched to a 4.98 ERA and a 3.54 FIP in 43.1 innings last season for Arizona. He'll join a Royals bullpen that also features Josh Staumont, Scott Barlow, Domingo Tapia, and Jake Brentz among others. With Staumont and Barlow around, Clarke probably won't initially be in the mix for saves in Kansas City.

MESA, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen is being evaluated for soreness in his right forearm and might not be ready for the start of the regular season on April 1. Gallen, who was scratched from his scheduled start on Monday, said he got an MRI and an X-ray on Sunday and doctors were still evaluating the results. He said he still felt good physically and hopes this is just a minor setback. “We’re still gathering information, so it’s tough to really map out a plan,” Gallen said. “For me, though, mentally I’m going to want to be on the field as soon as possible. Mon Sep 30 201920:04D-backs trending up, striving to catch Dodgers
PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks lost some of their best players to trades or free agency over the past 12 months. They went ahead and won 85 games anyway. It was an encouraging season for Arizona, which hung around the NL wild-card race deep into September and finished with an 85-77 record despite being in a semi-rebuilding mode. The good news for the Diamondbacks is they have a relatively young group of talented players in the everyday lineup like Ketel Marte, Eduardo Escobar, Christian Walker, Nick Ahmed and Carson Kelly. There's also depth in the pitching staff after rookies like Zac Gallen and Alex Young performed well in the season's final months.Even better, Arizona appears to have at least a little payroll flexibility to make needed improvements. The bad news is the Diamondbacks are still in a division with the Los Angeles Dodgers, who won 106 games and show no signs of slowing down soon."I don't know how many games we finished out of the division, but it was a lot," Arizona...
