Fri Sep 25 201511:42Barron signed training camp deal with Hawks on Friday
Barron signed a training camp deal with the Hawks on Friday, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports reports.
The Hawks had an opening on their roster following the retirement of Jason Richardson, so Barron will get a chance to show if he's got anything left in the tank. The 34-year-old center played in 16 games with the Suns last season after playing on multiple 10-day contracts, finishing with averages of 2.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 0.1 blocks over nine minutes per game. With Al Horford, Tiago Splitter and Mike Muscala all ahead of him on the depth chart, Barron may have a tough time making the final roster. Even if he makes the team, he likely won't have much of a fantasy impact.

Barron had nine points and four rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench Tuesday against the Clippers.
Barron was signed for the remainder of the season back on March 13, but only appeared in eight games after inking that deal. He topped 20 minutes in the final two games of the season following Phoenix's elimination from playoff contention.
Fri Mar 13 201515:15Barron signed by Suns for remainder of season
Barron has been signed by the Suns for the remainder of the season, the Arizona Republic's Paul Coro reports.
He finished two 10-day deals with the team, and they decided to keep him on as the third center on the depth chart. Despite his new found job security, Barron is a poor fantasy option as he will still struggle to see major minutes.
Sat Mar 7 201522:23Earl Barron:
Barron started for Alex Len (ankle) and produced one points (0-2 FG, 1-2 FT) and two rebounds in 13 minutes in the loss to Cleveland on Saturday.
Barron was on the court to try to counter Timofey Mozgov's size and he did use four fouls. He did not play in the Suns' two previous games and will return to the bench when Len is ready to go.

Barron is expected to start in place of Alex Len (ankle) against Cleveland on Saturday, Arizona Republic writer Paul Coro reports.
Although Barron is the technical replacement for Len in the starting lineup, it's hard to envision the journeyman earning a high minute count or posting standout numbers. Brandan Wright is probably the best bet to pick up Len's actual production, even as he plays off the bench. Wright generally hasn't shown an ability to earn more than roughly 25 minutes in a game for Phoenix, on the other hand, so his upside is likely limited.
Tue Mar 3 201513:19Barron signed second 10-day contract with Suns on Tuesday
Barron signed a second 10-day contract with the Suns on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old has appeared in five games, averaging 1.6 points and 0.8 rebounds in 5.5 minutes of mostly mop-up duty. He's posted impressive numbers in the D-League this season - 20.3 points, 10.9 rebounds - but is unlikely to make much of an impact at the NBA level.
Fri Feb 20 201516:49Barron signed 10-day contract with Suns on Friday
Barron signed a 10-day contract with the Suns on Friday, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Barron spent a 10-day stint with the Suns earlier this season and will now re-join the team following their trade of center Miles Plumlee on Thursday. Nonetheless, Barron is unlikely to enjoy a significant role with the Suns, making him a player with restricted fantasy value.
Sat Oct 25 201415:26Barron waived by Suns on Saturday
Barron was waived by the Suns on Saturday, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports.
He wasn't likely to play a major role on the Suns in the first place, and his fantasy value gets further compromised with this move.

Barron has accepted an invitation to Suns training camp on a non-guaranteed contract, Azcentral Sports reports.
The seven-year NBA veteran returns to Phoenix, where he played 12 games during the 2010-2011 season. With a lot of incumbent players ahead of Barron, it isn't likely that he will see any action, much less make the team. The veteran may have been brought on the team to help the younger players as an experienced competitor, but it is unlikely that he will provide any fantasy value this season.
Wed Sep 25 201317:42Earl Barron headed to play in China
Earl Barron will play in China with the Qingdao DoubleStar next season.
He was close to signing with the Knicks, but it seems Cole Aldrich got the nod and now has the inside track to make the team. Despite some big games here and there, Barron hasn't done much in his NBA career and might not be back stateside for a while.

Earl Barron's "top choice" is to sign with the Knicks.
Barron's representatives hope that New York will make an offer after Labor Day, but it's unclear whether the Knicks have any demand for a middling backup big man after signing Andrea Bargnani and Kenyon Martin this summer.

Thu Apr 18 201300:29Newcomers Barron, Richardson debut for NY
Earl Barron started at center after being signed by the Knicks on Wednesday and blew up for 11 points, 18 rebounds and a block.
The Knicks big men are banged up, although it does sound like Tyson Chandler should be ready for Saturday's Game 1 against the Celtics. Barron's output tonight was a pleasant surprise, but it could have been a fluke against Atlanta's JV team. Quentin Richardson made his debut and hit just 1-of-11 shots for 10 points and five rebounds, while James White added 20 points for the Knicks. They rested all the starters tonight and we're not expecting much from these three going forward, unless the Knicks continue to deal with injury problems.

Sun Dec 23 201209:47Wizards waive PF/C Earl Barron
The Wizards waived PF/C Earl Barron on Saturday.
Barron was barely playing, especially with Nene on the court, and he was shooting 35.1 percent from the field with nearly as many turnovers (10) as combined assists, steals and blocks (13). He's not a fantasy option regardless of where he lands.

Wed Dec 19 201221:54Earl Barron quiet in start at PF for Wizards
Earl Barron started at power forward over Chris Singleton on Wednesday and hit 1-of-6 shots for two points, five rebounds and five fouls in 20 minutes of a loss to the Magic.
Barron is suddenly starting to get some run, and while it's become clear that Randy Wittman has no plans to start Kevin Seraphin any time soon, Barron is not a player worth owning in any leagues right now.

Wed Dec 19 201218:49Earl Barron to get the start Wednesday night
The Wizards will start Earl Barron over Chris Singleton against the Magic on Wednesday night.
Coach Randy Wittman said the change was about getting the Wizards off to faster starts. Barron scored four points on 2-of-10 shooting with 14 rebounds and four blocks in 26 minutes Tuesday. If Barron manages to garner consistent minutes, he could be worth monitoring, but we'll have to wait and see.

Tue Dec 18 201222:48Earl Barron grabs 14 rebounds
Earl Barron hit 2-of-10 shots for four points and a season-high 14 rebounds in 26 minutes of Tuesday's loss.
Barron made some noise at the start of the season as well, but only saw minutes with Trevor Booker out and Kevin Seraphin saddled with foul trouble tonight. Ignore Barron for now.

Tue Oct 30 201221:53Earl Barron plays well off Wizards bench
Earl Barron played 16 minutes off the bench on Tuesday and had eight points, eight rebounds, a steal and a block.
He was actually fun to watch and very active, but has a very limited ceiling. Once Kevin Seraphin is back in action, Barron's role will likely dry up, unless he continues to play this well on a nightly basis. Just keep an eye on him.
