Sun May 15 202216:17Seth Beer Optioned To Triple-A On Sunday
The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned designated hitter Seth Beer to Triple-A Reno on Sunday. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Sean Poppen (shoulder) was activated from the injured list. Beer hit a game-winning home run on Opening Day, but that's been the only time he's left the yard so far this season. Over 27 games, he's slashing .210/.301/.284 with nine RBI and four runs scored. The 25-year-old had a .909 OPS at Triple-A last year as he racked up 16 home runs and 33 doubles over 100 games. If he can tap back into that type of production while he's at Triple-A this year, we could see him back in the majors again soon.

Mon May 2 202214:45Seth Beer On The Bench Monday
Arizona Diamondbacks designated hitter Seth Beer is on the bench on Monday. The 25-year-old is hitting .238 with a .351 on-base percentage and a home ru nin 74 plate appearances this season, but won't start against the Miami Marlins and right-hander Pablo Lopez. Instead, Cooper Hummel is starting at designated hitter and batting fifth. Hummel is batting .171 with a .346 on-base percentage, two home runs, and a stolen base in 52 plate appearances this season. Fantasy managers looking for streaming help in leagues where on-base percentage isn't part of scoring should probably look elsewhere.

Wed Apr 27 202214:20Seth Beer On The Bench Wednesday
Arizona Diamondbacks designated hitter Seth Beer isn't in the starting lineup for the team's matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday. Beer has been one of Arizona's most productive hitters in 2022, batting .306 with a .414 on-base percentage and a home run through 58 plate appearances. Matt Davidson will start in his place at designated hitter and bat third against Dodgers left-handed starter Julio Urias. Davidson has a home run and a couple of walks in nine plate appearances this season. And while he's been more effective versus left-handed pitchers in his career, fantasy managers are probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming options.

Tue Apr 19 202211:02Seth Beer Hitting Cleanup In Game 1 Tuesday
Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Seth Beer is hitting cleanup against Washington Nationals right-hander Josiah Gray in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday. Beer has mostly been serving as the team's designated hitter this year, but he'll get the start at first base in this one. The 25-year-old left-handed slugger is one of a few Diamondbacks hitters swinging it well in the early going, as he's 8-for-21 with a double, home run, five RBI and three runs scored in his first eight games of the season. Beer has played in only 13 major league games dating back to last year, but he has notable power from the left side and will have DFS sleeper appeal on Tuesday in Game 1 in the cleanup spot.

Fri Apr 8 202209:12Seth Beer Delivers Walk-Off Home Run
Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman/outfielder Seth Beer hit a walk-off home run to lead the team to a 4-2 victory over the San Diego Padres on Opening Day. The 25-year-old hit a three-run home run off Padres reliever Craig Stammen in the ninth inning. To make matters more fun and fitting, his heroics came on National Beer Day. Beer spent the bulk of the 2021 season at Triple-A, where he slashed .287/.398/.511 with 16 home runs, 59 RBI and 73 runs over 100 games. He also saw his first exposure to the majors last year, appearing in five games for the D-backs and going 4-for-9 with a home run. He's certainly someone worth keeping an eye on for fantasy purposes. The playing time should certainly be there and his minor league history shows both power potential and the ability to hit for a good average.

Tue Sep 21 202118:42Seth Beer To Undergo Shoulder Surgery
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder/first baseman Seth Beer (shoulder) will undergo left shoulder surgery on Thursday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reported Tuesday. The 25-year-old rookie dislocated his shoulder in the first inning of last Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It is a disappointing turn of events for Beer, who hit a whopping .444/.500/.889 with one home run, three RBI, and four runs scored on four hits through just nine MLB at-bats. Provided the surgery is successful, fantasy managers should keep him in mind for next season.

Wed Sep 15 202100:46Seth Beer Leaves Game With Dislocated Shoulder
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder/first baseman Seth Beer (shoulder) left Tuesday's game versus the Los Angeles Dodgers with a dislocated left shoulder, announced the team. The 24-year-old was removed during the first inning after making a diving attempt for a ground ball by Dodgers shortstop Trea Turner. Outfielder Henry Ramos entered the game for Beer, while outfielder/first baseman Pavin Smith took over at first. More news should be available in the coming days, but a trip to the 10-day injured list is likely in the cards for the former first-round pick. Beer had made a positive first impression during his first week in the major's, going 4-for-9 with a homer, three RBI, and three runs across four games.
