Thu Jan 1814:24Yankees Signs Jose Rojas To Minor-League Pact
The New York Yankees have signed utility player Jose Rojas to a minor-league deal. The 30-year-old spent the 2023 season playing for the KBO's Doosan Bears and did well to hit .253 with 19 home runs, 65 RBI, and an .819 OPS across 464 trips to the plate. He also recently spent 13 games playing in the Mexican Winter League. Rojas has seen big-league action in parts of two seasons with the Los Angeles Angels but hit just .188 with six home runs, two stolen bases, and a .584 OPS across 83 games and 241 plate appearances. Despite his poor work in the majors in a small sample, many players have turned their careers around overseas as Rojas aims to lock down a utility role with the Bombers in 2024.
